You folks absolutely nailed it with your reasons. I had not painted a mini or played a tabletop game in over five years, but then I stumbled on your first Shatterpoint vid... and owned the core set within a couple of days and had them all painted within a few weeks (fast for me). My wife even brought out her old airbrush to help paint the terrain. Unique and detailed models, fun and creative rules, and - as you say - Star Wars! What's not to love?
Been playing since launch. Absolutely love shatterpoint. I also think the line of sight rules are some of the cleanest I’ve seen - effectively every character almost always has line of sight to every other character. Cover rules are a little confusing at first, but once understood are super quick to assess and move on. I don’t miss the time spent with laser lines trying to determine line of sight and cover lines that I had to do in other skirmish games
i love your Shatterpoint Battle Reports. They are fun zu watch and every time i learn something new. I would love to see a battle report with the Mandalorian, Bounty Hunters, Moff Gideon and some scoundrels 😄
I would love to See new Star Wars shatterpoint Battle Report. Are you planning on doing some more in the future? Maybe with the new troops that are coming😄
The thing that i love the most is movement mechanics. Measurement is just so easy in this game. On the other side. Painting the minis was a joy but building all droids and especially b1s and grevious was the worst experience i had in this hobby
I hope to see more Shatterpoint from y'all. I've been playing w/ Hondo & Cad's squads and they are ridiculously fun! 4 Force is scary, but I'm never in fear of running out just because of their regen capabilities
I have one Shatterpoint team painted up but I'm working on a second and then I need to work on the terrain. I've been obsessed with Marvel Crisis Protocol for a long time and Adepticon is coming up so I'm going to be playing a lot of that there, but afterwards I'll probably need a break and Shatterpoint seems like a good transitional game.
I myself have decided to get back into SP after playing at release and I have shown it to some new players in our FLGS and people really like it once they figure it out. My only 2 issues I have had and have seen within my FLGS. #1 - the initial lack of missions and small pool of squad packs really hurt player growth in our store. Playing the same mission for months led to alot of people moving on. #2 - imo, i feel like alot of players are looking to punish AMG for their treatment of SW X-Wing and are silently boycotting AMG's "main" Star Wars game. While I feel most people would be missing out on a great game, these are simple facts. I look forward to my group revisiting SP and giving it a new try with mission packs and more squad options!!!
I've been very interested in playing a game of shatterpoint. And I've been thoroughly entertained by the battle reports you've made, even though I don't know what's going on. Since the space I have for models is extremely limited, it's nice that a team is just 3-5 models or so. I can see myself having at least one team so that I can play when others are interested! The only thing that deters me from it slightly is that for the most part, you're playing with named characters, and it feels too blasphemous to paint them in your own way, and tell your own story with your models.
I wonder if they will release Kotor models to it. Sadly it has the same major flaw that any of these games have... There is no one in my area willing to play. I even put announcements on ebay and all.... Atleast painting the models is fun.
@@kingontopbob well, Shatterpoint was quite popular here in Ukraine at the beginning. In my local club 23 people (myself included) bought the starter and first game day had around 33 people. This is rather good statistic for our country, especially considering this is not GW product. However, after two months people got back to the regular stuff. TTS is a case for playing with foreign players :) our community doesn’t want to play Shatterpoint at all :)
i can agree with most of your statements in this video. the BIGGEST reason this game FAILS for me is that combat is non existent - all your resources you try to remove a unit is futile since the enemy unit STILL get's it's turn for that round and is able to activate. EVEN after you mortally wound that unit - that unit STILL gets ANOTHER TURN before it is removed from the board which makes tabling or removing units impossible in this game. you basically get minimal reward for ALOT of resources you spend on removing a enemy unit which essentially removes that optional strategy for winning the game. for me this makes for a very boring way to play because there are not multiple options to win the game other than to just stand on the objectives and sit there.
Personally I think that concept of immortality for Fellgor ravagers is too op, and I really don't want the experience of it in every match of the star war game. It so frustrating that it something just doesn't die and keep haunting you.
I bought the Inquisitors to give me a kick up the arse to get playing it. I got the core set Day 1, had one game and now it's been almost a year. Disgraceful. Will be tuning in for more Shatterpoint goodness.
@@BoldAndSpicy I was really hyped for it. If it had been MCP with Star Wars skins, I would have been all in. Watched the dev playthrough and cancelled my preorder. Played a friend's core set and knew I made the right decision.
@@c3nturion1337 I had a similar reaction. The issue that baffles me is they created one of the most robust combat systems in terms of interacting with your opponents units but chose to have missions that are sitting on capture points. They could have created way more dynamic missions but instead you're stuck doing the same thing you do in 40k, except less because 40k at least has secondaries. Even Legion has more robust mission variety and objectives than SP.
Well, I think it's ridiculously stupid to pay close to $200 for a game they pay the Chinese toddlers 50 cents a day to make 72 wearhouses of. (Yeah, exaggeration, but, really). And there's currently 21 expansion sets. Most are about $50. So, I would have to pay well over $1000 AND do all the work myself? Add to that, mine didnt come with assembly instructions, or even a checklist of what's in the box. And, then, to top it all off, it's a complete disorganized mess. I am in hopes that I have the patience to disect all the pieces and then paint them. MAYBE in the year 3024, I will have finished the Core set, and can find someone to play with. Or, play alone. From everything I have seen, it does look like a fun game. Even if I had to mortgage my house to get it. 🤣
No reason to play shatter point. Star wars armada and X wing got dustbined so they could do this game. The amount of devs fired due to not being able to move across the country.
I love your content, and you're one of my favorite channels, but I hate that you pump this game. MCP is such a superior game if you want to expand your content. I wanted Shatterpoint to be good, but my group hated it.
The energy you guys bring to all your videos is very great.

The accessibility of the rules and update content from AMG is one of my favorite things you brought up.

wow guys i like your videos very good job , i am learning english now and i like to listen yours review about rpg games. greetings from Peru
can you do more battle reports for shatterpoint?

What is easier to play legion or shatter point for complete beginners
Started playing shatter point after watching your batreps. Great game and hope to see more bat reps.

Hey am I going to regret buying this and not buying into Legion? Please advise before I spend my money.
I am tempted, but this game is even more expensive to start than Warcry or Kill Team, the figures look very nice.
Next Batrep please ❤
Everything I need to play is free? Even the minis and terrain? That’s great! 😉

Love me some shatterpoint
The game died in my country :( At least I have nice models.
I'm trying to build a community in Scotland so I know the struggle
There's always TTS at least?

it completely die in my country too. the mini in second hand market is left lonely in the dark corner of the leftover shelf.

2 reasons I shouldn't play Star Wars: Shatterpoint:
1. I don't like the random activation mechanic.
2. I don't have anyone to play with.
Of course theres number 6. Lots of stores are already liquidating their stock so you can get a lot of stuff at %50 off.
There's a reason stores are dumping it
@@c3nturion1337 Because AMG failed at their design goal and in turn created a boring, mediocre game?
