*READ DESCRIPTION/SPOILER.*
Yes before anyone gets confused about Thats Roxas and stuff but first off. Birth By Sleep happened before Sora can wield the keyblade so basically Sora, Riku and Kairi was around the aged of 4 when this happened. At the End of the game as Ventus fought Vanitas with the x-blade which was forged with Vanitas and Ventus's Heart. As the X Blade was destroyed Ventus's Hearts is sleeping deeply cutting through darkness, while as Young Sora came Ventus asked nicely to go inside Sora's Heart so he can live again, Thats why Sora can wield an keyblade and chosen master because his heart belongs to the light and not chosen Riku because he chose darkness. Anyway, When Sora fought Riku Ansem in Kingdom Hearts I he then used the keyblade of people's heart to sacrifice his heart in order to save Kairi and he had turned into an heartless... That is when Roxas comes into the picture
The difference in mood between this and Roxas' theme is very subtle.
Ventus= What will never be
Roxas= What could have been
Don't forget this:
Xion= Never should have existed (Not a Xion hater, I love her as a character, but if we're implying what their theme gives off, Xion's gives off a feeling of sorrow that she wants to exist, but she never was supposed to be even alive...)
more importantly Roxas's theme is half of Ventus's theme, because Roxas is half a person.

KH isn't just a game.. it's an experience.
The first time I played Kingdom hearts by brother and his friend saw it as only a stupid looking game. Well look at it now this 'stupid' little game turned in a raging Hype with a huge fandom.
KnucklestheEcidna When my dad first bought it he say its a really bad game because you just run around as some guy then play as another guy and go into Disney films (the first game I played was KH2), now KH2 is possibly my favourite game of all time.
My favorite is still Birth by sleep.
I played all titles and I'm glad they did the cutscenes of Days in the remix. the story was probably too hard to follow with gameplay involved.

MASIEK909 yeah Ventus really matured during his journey. Ofc his dream is becoming a keyblade master, he doesnt know differently but when he learns his fate he knows how small and insignificant one life, be it ones very own is compared to all worlds. And he knows: fighting Vanitas he will create the X-blade. And he also knows his will to live is to strong that he could commit suicide. So he asks Terra and Aqua to kill him. Well Ventus in some way has grown the intellect to really become a master. Ventus surely is the one who grew the most learning his past, what Xehanort had planned for him, fighting the unversed etc. I hope he gets awakened in KH3. Aqua is the easiest to save if you find a way to the dark realm, Terra should be reborn in the Dark realm as well and Ventus should be revived if Sora is close enough to him

Metalhammer1993 Ventus' heart is residing in sora and its recovering there...in kingdom hearts 3 it will be fully recovered.
Mikatakuzu Dragneel i know. in fact i think it already is recovered just sleeping. After all Vens Heart already awake for an Instant. When Sora released Kairis HEart he turned into a heartless. so what happened to Vens heart? it probably fled to roxas. As it was to weak to take over the Body it just gave Roxas growing heart a little Push in the right directions. It recovered while Roxas heart grew. He subconsciously used Vens heart and Soras Body to wield the Kingdom key. Keybladewielders can wield the Keyblades of other Keyblade wielders. Thats how Roxas, wtih soras BOdy uses the Kingdom key. but the power to wield a Kingdom key is Ventus. In the End when Roxas gains his own Keyblade (Oblivion) Vens Heart awakens as well. I know that Xion had stolen Power from Roxas but two keyblades require two hearts. Without Ventus awakening as well he could not have summoned Oathkeeper.

I love how the main hook of Roxas's theme works its way into this. It's a really awesome, and just subtle enough, way to alude to the deeper connection between the two characters.
I feel terribly bad for Roxas, Xion, Ven, Terra, and Aqua. None of them deserve to be alone in misery. 😢

Ven: one of the protagonists of Birth by Sleep, one of the saddest KH games in the series, one of his friends had his body taken by Xehanort, a guy who almost killed Ven many times and tried to kill Aqua too, meanwhile Ven's other friend, Aqua, is stuck in the nice shores of the dark realm because she tried to rescue Terra.
Roxas: Sora's nobody that looks like Ven, is the protagonist of another of the saddest KH games in the series, ever since his birth he has been fighting endlessly, had to fight his own friends, and was forced to literally erase Xion, one of his best friends and maybe even love interest, from not only existance but also everyone's memories even his own's.
AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT THINKS THAT SQUARE HAS SOMETHING AGAINST VEN AND ANYONE WHO LOOKS LIKE HIM OR WHAT?!

I always think of my sis when I hear this piece. I don't know why exactly, maybe because to me it sounds both like a lost hope yet a glimmer of hope at the same time, and my sis was always struggling through her life with troubles and often lost hope only to gain it back again.
But unfortunately she will never wake up from her everlasting sleep. Maybe that is why I cry.
But it's a good kind of cry in remembrance.
Gotta love Shimomura for tugging at the heartstrings with elegantly composed music. Never thought a single hanging note of an oboe would able to move my soul so much.
Roxas and Ventus have such beautiful themes. My two favorits.

This was the one. Before my life became a complete mess, before everyone I loved left me, and before the end of everything I once knew.... I came to this very channel. And listened, contemplating my future and what I would ultimately have to become. I wept bitter tears, knowing that in a few short hours, I would leave it all behind, separated from family and friends. Now, 8 years later I return.... and yet I still cry. The years they stole will never return, the love will not come back, and the emotions are numbed by trauma. But there's still a life, there... somehow there's a glimmer of hope....deeply melancholic, and yet subtly optimistic.

Why did everyone in Birth By Sleep had to pretty much die?
Ven's stuck in Castle Oblivion for eternity.
Aqua's wandering the realm of Darkness endlessly.
Terra and Eraqus are just straight up dead.
And all the three of them did was manage slow down Xehanort.
But yet Xehanort was back, being a dick a mere 10 years later.
Why did this game have to be so sad?
Technically, Ven isn't in Castle Oblivion anymore. He ended up becomming a part of Sora's heart.

And Ventus had to wade through even more sorrow during 358/2 Days and KH2, after "Roxas" was released from Sora's heart.
Because it practically ends on Revenge of the Sith.
Hopefully you played through kh3 by now, they all got the ending they deserved
If it wasn't, then there would have been no point for KH1 and KH2 to happen.
Terra, Aqua and Ven are/were all vastly stronger than Sora or Riku power-wise, so if they were able to go on the journey he did - there wouldn't have been any struggle. All of them - master or not - were extensively trained with the Keyblades.
This song perfectly captures the tragedy in Ventus's story!

This is basically the sad version of Dearly Beloved. Which fits him because he had the toughest life of the Ventus tree (Sora, Roxas, etc) Roxas sure lost his friend but he's just lost her for about 2 years. Ventus lost his 2 best friends, his master, and his own body for 10-11 years. I don't want to start a war but Ventus when I first saw him he was a copy of the main box art character. (This was my first game with 2.5 since we accidentally got it and sent it to gamestop for a refund for 1.5.) Birth By Sleep is an amazing game because it's not about "My friends are my power" And they win... sure they have D-Links but instead of friendship... they start to lose the friendship from Xehanort. This game might not be game of the year winning, but I loved the gameplay and characters... don't forget the story. I'd really want this from some other game!

Wait...2 years? I thought the ending of KH 358 2 Days, which leads into KH2 only takes place about a week at best. At least the battle between Roxas and Riku at TWTNW to when Roxas was at Date Twilight Town.

This song helps ease my pain. Knowing what the world truly is, how humans live not knowing the truth. This is only one of the reasons I'm depressed all the time. If people only knew how things could be if war never existed. I hate knowing that people suffer. I can't help but wish I could live with all the pain and suffering of others so they don't have to. I can't cry anymore. My grandma was the only person who understood me. When she died, I couldn't cry. You know how much that hurts? I've been beaten, picked on, and used all because of my views on life. I no longer care what happens though. My life is never going to change the world. I know people say they're broken. They really need to see what I broken person is. If I continue, it would take a 100,000 page book. And it would earn me more insults than I care to think about. Being broken beyond repair, this song hits home.

You can't help to fix the world so long as you remain broken. I was the same way, for lesser things, for about a year. You sound like you've had this pain for a while, and now you've become attached to it; worst thing you can do. Depression was the best thing that happened to me because I became so much stronger after it. I have my good days and bad days like anyone else, but more so good than bad. Because situations where people would see as bad, I see as normal (wars, massacres, murders, rape, death, abuse), and when I say normal, I don't mean 'right'. But these things have happened forever, and it's because people understand that and allow it to happen, though they may not like it, they get its how the world works. I'm sure that the world doesn't NEED to be like that; but so long as you remain too weak to fix it, it will. I'm only 17, and I don't know everything. I don't know what tomorrow will bring. I do know however, that to bring peace into effect, there must be a cause. I'm sure one day, you'll realize that. :)

Well, I realize this was misunderstood. I enjoy being this way. If I wasn't, I wouldn't break able to help people. In order to give advice, I look at the person, listen, visualize, feel exactly what they did, think, and then speak. Well, enjoy is the wrong word. More like, I'm better this way. If I wasn't broken, I would most likely be a puppet for someone. Its hard to explain, but I can "sense" intentions. Being broken has made me more susceptible to things gong on around me. Well, since no one believes in the fact humans have dormant psychic abilities, its pointless to say anymore. Read the manga Psyren and you might see what I mean. My personality is Shaman. My sleeping positions are Yearner, thinker, freefall, soldier, and starfish. I'm a hermit I guess you can say. I hate conflict, but I would kill if it was the only way. I take a long time to make up my mind. Whatever choices I make go through countless scenarios until I find the kindest choice. The best choice is not always the right choice. If I was surrounded by 5 girls who are in love with me, like in infinite stratos, I would he embarrassed. Though if I could have all 5, I wouldnt choose anyone. Choosing one would hurt the other 4. I don't think of women as sexual garbage bins. I just believe that, if all 5 want one Guy, why can't the one Guy have all 5? Best way to say what I am: carefree, lover, only resorts to violence to protect, kind, enjoys daydreaming, loves darkness, loves moonlight. I love nighttime, silence, kindness, and many things that would imply "evil". But, I have an understanding of these. I love these things because they hold a certain unique beauty. Humans like to destroy the things I find beautiful. Most People who look beautiful arent so beautiful on the inside. The things we allow need to be stopped. Cops are just bullies who make you do what a tyrant says is right. This tyrant is called "Government." A criminal organization that kills anyone who threatens their moneymaking. If I invented a machine to fuel everything you own(electronics, cars, cooking devices) then tried to sell my invention, the government would arrange an "accident" resulting in my murder. Saving their means of making money on environmentally destructive products like vehicle fuels. They killed the water engine inventor because he would've ended fossil fuel sales. He died in an accident in a tunnel (road) during rush hour traffic. From Mafia movies, we know "accident" means planned out murder. Think on this from a while.

+PaoPaoTheCat I don't think Terra or Ven count for the seven lights. Aqua MIGHT since she's the only one that's still intact. My guess is the lights are Sora, Riku, Mickey, Kairi, Lea, maybe Aqua and one or two Keyblade wielders that have yet to be revealed.

Sora wondering in a land filled with darkness had he not stopped the heartless
Riku have his body taken from him by a form of Xehanort
Kairi in an eternal sleep due to losing her heart and it finding shelter in Sora
amazing, hints of sora/kh1 theme song in the beginning and then it blends in that twilight/roxas melody, so well thought out
Fates of the KH Characters:
Sora: Fighting to bring balance to the worlds and mend the pain of those who are hurting connected to his heart
Riku: Walks a path of redemption to stand by his friends side again and prove he is worthy of the Keyblade
Kairi: A princess of heart and final guardian who wishes to protect Sora and Riku and is the bond holding them all to each other
KH 358/2 days:
Roxas: Forced to fight and be used by the organization with no one caring for him other than for his power, minus his friends
Axel: The flame that kept Roxas and Xion in check and as the guiding friend that will lose them because of their wills to be free
Xion: A puppet made as a fail safe if Roxas betrayed the organization to take his powers, but dies choosing to save him instead
KH BBS:
Aqua: The light that shows Ven and Terras hope and joy, lost in the darkness till she can find her way and save them
Terra: A strong willed young man that wanted to be a master with his friends, but loses his body trying to save them
Ventus: A young boy who is filled with light that wanted to be with Ven and Terra forever, but destroyed his own heart so the x-blade wouldn't be created, saving his friends, and to an extent saving Sora from darkness
I don't think I've played such a sad prequel since Baten Kaitos Origins.

Most of the people who were depressed wouldn't be with us here right now. This game saved many lives in more ways than one, you can't deny that. This series isn't just a game, it's a road of experiences.
this one made me tear up ventus is my favorite character in the whole kingdom hearts series (aqua is second) and I cant wait for him to awaken
I think I'm one of the few who prefer Sora over Ventus and Roxas. He actually carries the most burden of all since he's the key to get everyone back. Plus I love his optimistic attitude. Like Roxas said, it has to be him.

It's sad when you get made fun of for playing kingdom hearts when your in high school... I grew up with kingdom hearts, while other kids are now growing up on Call Of Duty or Assassins Creed... It's really sad now that times have changed...

Partially dude, but the main reason is xheanort's plan to start a second keyblade war, ven just suffered the most in the eyes of most thats why he seems like the main character, but to me I felt more sorry for aqua, seeing and witnessing one friend lose his heart and fall into a coma like sleep and witnessing the other become possesed and corrupted, and to top it off she sacrifices herself by keeping terra out of the world of darkness while she wanders it, all that has gotta weigh down on her evwn though she tried her best

Birth By Sleep is by far the most tragic of these stories to me, because for Terra, there is no salvation, only an attempt, not like with Riku who actually gets to come back from the darkness. And Aqua and Ventus are essentially trapped or left an empty shell respectively

I love Kingdom Hearts. . .but some of the music in the background of the game is so emotional, and some of it is awesome and feels like action. I play it on my PS3, I should record my games sometime! Thanks for posting this up! I also play Xbox 360 so, and PS2 online still so.

@@DatMentalGamer i know the first time i complete Ven's story was in 2016, i was two days of my 15 birthday and in all August, (my birthday is in July 28th) i was in shock thinking in all ways to have a happy ending. Next year in April it happens that feel again when i completed Final Fantasy X.
It was 00:30 AM next morning i had a exam but i don't give a shit, i only want to complete that game and see what happend. That night i don't sleep (i don't cry or something but it was too shocking like BBS Endings)

No not for me... Roxas just wanted to live his life but was not allowed to and the fact that his life was not that great to begin with. That is just really sad to me. And it has been hinted at that ventus will wake up in kh3 while nobody has any idea on how to make roxas his own person yet. Both stories are sad and i like both characters but to me roxas story is just a little bit more sad. Ofcourse ventus past with master xehanort, losing his friends and going to sleep for at least 12 years is bad enough.

Not necessarily. Time travel's really fucked things over in Dream Drop Distance, we defeated Ansem, Seeker of Darkness and Xemnas in the console titles of Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2. Terranort's status is unknown, as is Braig and Isa as well. Hopefully those questions will be answered in KH3.
***** I think Terra can still be saved, because if they defeat Terranort, It will technically "kill" him, as you said time travel screws all that up, but i think, that Terra will go back to his armor and become complete. Because remember, Terranort is a nobody (almost positive, it's been a while), and so if they defeat him, Terra will become whole again. Not too sure how this will work because I'm not sure where Terra's body went, but we will find out. In like 2 years....

Jackson Carlson Terranort is not a nobody. Terranort is the fusion of Terra and Master Xehanort within Terra's body. Terranort took on the name Xehanort, whom became an apprentice underneath Ansem the Wise. Xemnas and Ansem, Seeker of Darkness are the Heartless and Nobody halves that complete Terranort. It explains why Xemnas spoke to Aqua's armor, calling it "old friend" even.
Rick Van Staten Eraqus' body is gone, but his mind and soul aren't. He resides within Terra's heart, helping him to combat Master Xehanort's presence. He'll live on through Terra.

make sure you be careful. there's a few glitches in the game since the system they use compared to PSP is different. I know the PSP also has a few bugs but this sometimes REALLY takes the case...

really? I played it and had absolutely no bug problems whatsoever and it's not that different than the psp version just the shotlock and attack and jump options are different depending on what you're most familliar playing with (Japanese settings or english settings)
No bug problems the controls are different as mentioned above, killed no heart on the way tho
