- Whilst in East Asia, Ross gets a call saying that a pirate commander would like to meet. Although he's a little sceptical, Ross heads to the commander's location and gets the chance to interview him. Plus afterwards, the pirates take Ross out onto a boat to give him a first hand look at how they would take over a ship.

These huge ships now are given money by their owners to carry so when pirates come on board they can easily just give them a couple of thousands of dollars rather than loosing a whole ship with product which will cost them millions. Its a new tactic used by ship companies which in return has drastically lowered their ships from getting taken away.

In the 90's I was on a small boat heading to a small Indonesian island. The boat got boarded during the night. There were 4 x Swedish ex soldiers on board who were all 6 foot plus and big guys, that walked right up to the pirates and just stood in front of them. The pirates weighed up the situation and left. Not sure what would have happened if things had been different.
