Even though rodents usually live very short lives you have to remember that to them their life was long. Most mice don’t get a human to look after them, and die due to starvation or some illness dying of old age would be an absolute blessing. he had a happy and long life, don’t be sad :)

If I'm not mistaken. He looks like a baby pack rat! I used to have one and I had him for almost 8 and a 1/2 years. I raised him from a Orphaned baby and he was the most incredible pet. I loved him so much!
