      Bird Keeper Toby uhhh you guys keep saying electric attacks not affecting ROCK type Pokémon, but you should have been saying GROUND type Pokémon.

      Bird Keeper Toby "part of the reason why Electric Type attacks dont Effects Rock typs" well.. as we know Electric effects Rock.. just Wanted to throw that in here

    Electric attacks do affect rock types, I think you may be confusing the rock type for the ground type (a type shared by the Geodude line as well)

    I think some water types might float by somehow using their affinity for water to manipulate the water vapor in the atmosophere and air

    • @buyrcsp2
      @buyrcsp2 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this is 2 year late, I think the water type fly Because inside of the Pokemon is hot, You know hot water evaporate/lighter

    I think Geodude hoped on the ship because they were trying to balance it.

  • @CilanSteele

    It's ground type that isn't affected by Electric, not rock.

  • @dallinmoody1297
    @dallinmoody1297 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    ... I though people understood by now... rock types don’t resist electric types... but most gen 1 rock types are also ground types.

    Also, why the heck is geodude eternally flexing?!?! When it floats, it just uses that time to flex apparently, instead of you know, giving its arms a rest maybe??

    Because it would look super dumb just crawling on the ground.

    I am glad that you are back. I hope you keep making videos. You were actually one of the first people I subscribed to, and the Genesect video was one of the first ones I watched on TH-cam. I forgot about your channel until you collabed with Toby.
    Have a great day.

    It's so cool to see this theory cause I'm using Geodude for the first time in my life on Pokémon Yellow for my LivingDex quest! :3 It makes me appreciate Geodude a.k.a Rockstar a little more.

    I believe that part of the reason why they didn't give it levitate is because ground attacks interrupt and nullifies magnetic forces and electricity. This also brings my curiosity towards Koffing and Weezing, although poison is weak against ground attacks, Koffing Weezing are lucky enough to float away from them because their gas makes them float like balloons.

    I calculated geodude's density to be close to that of pine at 470 kg/m3 for a rock the size of a large watermelon

  • @Echiewel
    @Echiewel 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Electric attacks don't affect ground Pokémon. No special relation with rock types.

    • @nickdentoom1173

      And this effects the power of this theory, since it seems no research is done.

    Maybe geodude is a haunter stuck in some rocks.

  • @james4thedoctor482
    @james4thedoctor482 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    6:08 I think that without the mushrooms causing Parasect to withhold it’s juvenile related traits, that Paris would have evolved directly into Genesect as the secondary form instead of a mushroomless Parasect as the middle form.

    • @ViewerOnline101
      @ViewerOnline101  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's plausible. It could be that Parasect is an in between phase between Paras and Genesect that it gets stuck in. However, due to the power gap between Paras and Genesect, it would make more sense for there to be a middle stage.

    Those metal bits could be superconductors... I wonder how much voltage does the Geo-line have to produce internally to levitate itself.. do they store those volts inside them from any electric pokemon that strikes them with a thunderbolt?
    Is the electricity in them from the static charge they accumulated by rolling in the ground that much?
    Rocks have high resistance to electricity.. does the Geo-line have "wires" in them (lightning rod) that diverts electricity to wherever they store those electrical charges?
    Are they really rocks? Or a clump of semimetals that can switch their conductivity by heating their cores?
    Toby and Viewer guy...
    Answer me

    this theory would have been 100% confirmed if kantonian geodude could learn Magnet rise (it can't sadly)

    I have a theory about Goedude too. TH-cam "Why Geodude should be a Rock/Fighting Type"

  • @Agent719
    @Agent719 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    In all honesty, I feel like "geomancy", or whatever you want to call it's ability to make rocks erupt from the earth of the ground split, is an easier explanation for how/why it floats, even if it's not science based.
    But then, the Pokemon world laughs in the face of science as we know it.

    I noticed you said that Electric attacks don't effect Rock Type Pokémon, well, that's not true. They don't effect Ground Type, but they can effect Rock Type. It's a common illusion since most Rock Types are also Ground Types.

    Concerning the SS Anne-proof: sooo a metal ship prevents the Pokemon from using Its Magnetic Powers?
    Ships that size are usually made of steel which is magnetic so that debunks atleast that piece of evidence.

    • @ViewerOnline101
      @ViewerOnline101  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, you said "most", so it could not be, which doesn't actually debunk it if that's the case. And it could also be that Geodude emits a different kind of magnetic force and that the ship merely interferes with it, not necessarily disrupt completely it completely.

  • @BrawlSnorlax
    @BrawlSnorlax 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm not sure I understood that last bit. Are you saying the magnetism in other rock types is what lets them lift themselfs and even jump?

    • @ViewerOnline101
      @ViewerOnline101  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      He's too heavy to allow himself to float, but based on the way he's able to jump really far and really high, and his rapid movements despite being a rock and very heavy, he likely has some magnetism to help his movements, but he's too heavy to actually float the way Geodude can.

    • @bruh_moment

      dwinters62 well yes but haunter can still interact with physical objects seeing as it could lick things, i mean there is the possibility a few got a taste for minerals and became sableyes or possibly come from a similar ancestor
