    If you poke and lift the skin a tad at a 45° angle or so, it’ll put in the ink a lot better and you’ll only need two or three passes instead of 10.

    • @vibingvegan

      Thank you. I always make sure to poke at a 45 degree angle, sometimes it doesn’t always happen.

    I recommend to try poking at the angle of the lines instead of poking straight down, it gives you a better sense of control over the needle and where you are tattooing :)

    12:10 your biggest mistake was going way to fast and not dipping your needle in the ink enough you should have dipped it after every 2-4 pokes as well as every time you dip it you start the next poke where you last poked before dipping again that way you get full solid lines instead of going over it so many times if you keep the needle full of ink and you start each poke in the already poked spot and move forward three pokes then dip and start in the last poke spot and do three pokes and you do that the hole tattoo you will most likely only have to go over it one more time or even not have to go over it again at all but it all depends on the amount of pokes per dip in the ink sometimes I will do two pokes then dip teo pokes then dip and thats how I can do a stick and poke with one pass and even after it heals it is solid lines all the way ive only got a couple that need touch ups but they were my first ones ever and there still pretty good for a first timer

    So I've done 36 small tattoos on myself so far and I have found if you do straight up and down pokes and not 45° angles you get way better results you might have to poke more to not miss any spots but I can do a solid complete outline in two passes and when I do 45° angles it takes me three to five passes to get a solid complete line I'm still practicing my line work I haven't gotten to shading yet with the stick and poke but I've gone from it taking me multiple hours and up to five passes to finish a tattoo to now I can finish a outline in less then an hour with only two passes

    I have done a stick and poke tattoo in the same position like you did and I didn't really felt any pain the position was the one that was killing me always holding my arm at this weird angle so I feel your pain^^ also like you said yeah you should've held the needle at a 45 degree angle but random info: when holding the needle like you did or even as straight as 90 degrees it is used for shading a tattoo because you'll get dots on your skin and not lines and there are even better needles for this but I'm learning about all this still for myself. Great video though! :)

    • @vibingvegan
      @vibingvegan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya the position is usually the most uncomfortable part!! Thank you for your tips! I even know this before doing it but just for some reason wanted to do it at a straight angle thinking it might be better. Now I know for sure not to do that again haha. Good luck with your tattooing!

    Good god people get over the gloves crap you only need to wear gloves if your tattooing another person as long as you sterilize everything your fine I've done almost my entire leg without wearing gloves and never had one problem besides gloves get dirty to so it really makes no difference as long as you sterilize everything and you don't burn the needles before you use them you pour rubbing alcohol on them so you don't weaken the integrity of the needle causing them to break off in your skin as long as you use 91 rubbing alcohol on everything then you will be just fine it's not the end of the world without gloves the most it will do is stain your hands if you drop ink on them

    girl you´re doing a lot of things wrong. First, wear some gloves. Second, don´t touch "sterile" things without gloves. The hygiene practice here is horrible. Also taping the needle to a pencil or something similar makes holding and poking a lot easier. You should also wipe the excess ink off so you can see how much ink stayed in the skin. Like you said, the angle was not helpful for the skin either. I suggest practicing on silicone skin before tattooing yourself again so you get a proper feel and technique.
    For anyone reading this, do proper research because this video is not in any way educational, except if you want to know what not to do.

    "Washed and sterilized" just as you touch the opening with your finger... That made me cringe. Also ALWAYS wear gloves even if you are doing it on yourself, even if you are washing your hands periodically throughout, your hands are not clean enough to not wear gloves. At the very least always wear gloves when you're doing it on camera where people can see and will copy you
    Also when wiping use a slightly damp paper towel and don't do it as hard (it looks like you're doin it pretty hard in this) as it will irritate the skin more
