When I was a kid, my dad hung a bulldozer up on a rock once. Balanced it on its belly pan, both tracks completely off the ground. He could really have used a Soviet unditching log that day.
Good job again as I seen that vehicle only on the period documentaries so of course I am very interested! Again it is a utilitarian vehicle yet practical, quite simple to produce and to maintain! In other words an efficient combat vehicle as only the Russians know how to build something that the western countries should well learn how to build it instead of over complicated and difficult to produce affaires! Yes I am sad that that the museum is closing down especially when you can see that it has been collected all those wonderful machines with a big heart!
I guess you never heard of Hobart as for complicated lol the Sherman is universal with lots of inter changeable parts for ease of maintenance and repair
@@redrb26dett of course I heard about Hobart's Funnies and I know very well the Sherman and it's commonality in order to ease the production producing over 49,000 units, an encredible figure compared to nowadays! In comparison it was produced over 87,000 T-34 and up to 100,000 T-54/T-55 units. Now I see only incredibly expensive and overcomplicated tanks that are very difficult to produce resulting in very low production. What I don't understand is that most of the comments about the German tanks has always been very critical and chastised as overcomplicated but nowadays it seems far worse.....
are we going to be able to expect regular full videos again? the snapshots are nice, but multi-part in depth videos are much more insightful. also, when can we expect part 2 of this? great work, keep it up. you also deserve a bigger paycheck by the way.
The BL-10 replaced the BL-8 and it was only used on a test version of the ISU-152 but the barrel length was unsatisfactory so it was sent back for improvement. Unfortunately the war ended before it was finished so it was never used.
I assume I can't link here, but the Archive Awareness blog has a few good articles on them. If you google 'archive awareness ISU-152BM' you should find the one on the heavy TD's. Just thought it might be worth mentioning; don't know if any are preserved.
I imagine venting the exhaust over the external tanks is actually a benefit, since it would warm the fuel before it enters the main fuel system and then the engine. Then again, as you said, it's diesel. Probably doesnt mean much.
The horn was not to make one aware it was there in the first place but to tell someone to look over at the vehicle so the crew could visually signal with flags or hand gestures. The Soviets were getting better about radios in their armored vehicles in 1944-45, but that didn't mean the sets didn't break often or that a commander wanted all communications to be broadcast such that any Fascist radio-detection unit could hear. A quick thump of the horn, the other commanders in your platoon look your way and bingo, you can point or flip them them the bird or whatever you want.
It’s called a glow plug not a spark plug. Diesel engines do not benefit from spark. The glow plugs basically warm up the combustion chamber To allow easier starting in the winter. Im a diesel mechanic.
Scrolled through all the comments to see if I was being stupid by thinking the exact same thing. It'd be interesting to see the design here as it's implied a common glow plug us used for all cylinders
How far is the littlefeild collection through selling all their hardware? shame that such a collection isn't kept carrying on in the spirit of the owner after him passing, if i get that lotto win i know where I'll be heading haha
The original was on the World of Tanks game channel. I keep this channel for people who only want to keep track of the historical videos, not all the game related stuff as well.
TheChieftainWoT Wow, massive tank!=) Great that the videos aren't related much to WoT, because i'm not playing anymore and i'm just interested in the tanks
Well it was before the development of decent and affordable antifreeze...Though yeah the Russian winter is legendary. I mean it stopped what 4 major military powers.
external tanks are only a problem for gasoline. for diesel the fuel, it doesn’t ignite unless it’s compressed so leaking tanks or hits by bullets to the tank won’t ignite it
Why on earth do you still have the stupid and interruptive background music over the talking? Even if English is your first language, it's a pain, but there's a load of non-English speakers who watch this stuff, who will find it even more difficult to follow. Stop trying to be "trendy", and just deliver what people want, which is clear facts You provide a great service already. You don't need to overlay it with the pish.
Music is MUCH to loud this time. Very distracting. LOVED this walk around. just wished music was less obtrusive.
When I was a kid, my dad hung a bulldozer up on a rock once. Balanced it on its belly pan, both tracks completely off the ground. He could really have used a Soviet unditching log that day.
This series of videos is absolutely wonderful. I'm very grateful for the time and money The Chieftain and WG put into making them.
thanks for doing these, id never have got to see alot of these vehicles outside or inside if it wasnt for these videos. Great work mate.
I've recently found this channel (thanks to my son) and I'm currently trying to marathon through. Thanks for a great channel.
galban199644 did you do it?
The beast TD of WoT returns in the flesh! :)

Damn! This channel keeps getting more awesome!
Please fix the music, who is in charge of this tragedy?

T95 next please :) I have been waiting for over 3 years now.
The T95 has been stripped of everything inside it. It's also rusted all over the place on the outside. It would't be a good tank to review.
SneakySiren I don't care you never see the inside of a T95.
That's the point. There is nothing inside. Literally almost everything has been stripped.
SneakySiren I DONT CARE! Seeing the amount of room would be cool like the MAUS tank!!
whitedragonguardian Ocola I'm sorry you wanna see a review of a "tank" that is just a rusty piece of crap and has nothing in it.
Are there any remaining ISU-152-2s that have the BL-10 or the BL-8 cannon mounted on them?
As far as I have been able to find around the web. Then the BL-10 was never used in production, due to failing its prototype testing.
The BL-10 replaced the BL-8 and it was only used on a test version of the ISU-152 but the barrel length was unsatisfactory so it was sent back for improvement. Unfortunately the war ended before it was finished so it was never used.

Why is there music playing when he's talking???????????
Damn it! I never noticed it until reading your comment, now, all I hear is that cheesy crap.

Please explain to me 0:02 where the mild violence in this video is?
It is a well known fact that when children see a tank, they immediately grab a knife and slaughter the first person they see.
Great work Sir thank you
HOLY SHIT this is the music that astro soup mentioned in his pilots video (Wrap it up - Whitey)
Some may question why these stayed in service for so long. My reply would be to ask them when a 152mm HE shell is not going to work. LOL
Nice video.
Music a bit loud.
A bit??
Another thanks Chief!
why exactly would it need a horn?
seriously...who wouldn't hear this thing coming that a horn would suddenly get their attention
The horn was not to make one aware it was there in the first place but to tell someone to look over at the vehicle so the crew could visually signal with flags or hand gestures. The Soviets were getting better about radios in their armored vehicles in 1944-45, but that didn't mean the sets didn't break often or that a commander wanted all communications to be broadcast such that any Fascist radio-detection unit could hear. what museeum is this? Cant really hear. Padokova?
Are you going to talk more about the 152mm in the next part?
Where was this filmed? Padekava?

All you need to do to improve these vids is to ask for a bigger budget from wargaming so you can do more of 'em- excellent job!!
How far is the littlefeild collection through selling all their hardware? shame that such a collection isn't kept carrying on in the spirit of the owner after him passing, if i get that lotto win i know where I'll be heading haha
hehe Cant wait to see him inside :)
I feel most TD tanks in WW2 has more room then other tanks lol.
I thought the tanks on the side were fuel but the ones on the back were releasable smoke cans.
Didn´t the ISU engine had oil as coolant...?
i really love these inside the tank episodes.
what i dont enjoy is the music selection and volumelevel of it.
i wannna see him fire one of these xD lets watch him throm some 152mm love around ( yea i know probs not possible )BUT I STILL WANNA SEE IT!!!
Why did you repost part 1??

I want to fire a 152 round at the "background" music
i want to see you fire a 152 round :)
Gotta love DIESELS!!! The M4a2 used by the U.S.M.C was DIESEL powered!!!!
I was always told "The Log" was for gaining a few more degrees gun depression for close in targets, by backing up onto it in a dug in position.
"He has one of his own..."
lol Cause that's what every driver needs; his own fuel tank!
Saves him having to hide his liquor supply in the radiator, perhaps.
You need a heater for the coolant - that's how cold it is in Russia

Yes a tanker in the US army
N00b has the stock gun!
LOL
The BL-10 was never used, it failed its tests.
***** Man, I was trolling ;)
Bruh this gun is stock but dont let it fool you...it can send ur whole country to gulag

Not true. It can ignite without compression. It's just much harder. Remember, crude oil can burn.
It's just that petrol is much easier to ignite
Remove a building? Use a SU 100Y
Right, this armor is a bit much for buildings.
Don't get hit by that

woo hoo under 300 views club!
thanks for those videos, they compensate to the fact that the game is quite bad.

Get rid of the ridiculous music. It adds nothing and makes it hard to hear you sometimes.
The destiny of combat armor like this one is the same as of a man weights 800 pounds.
Had to stop watching these grest videos because of the maddening music. Such a shame.
