to be honest. If you produce at cost and remove the logo, the luxury market really isn't that expensive. The mark is about 80% of the actual price. But the fact that you are*preluxz* buying an image and showing off your taste to make them think you are richer than you are is a very good thing to do.

The picotin is an odd bird. I got an 18 about 10 years ago. I absolutely hated it and sold it within a month. Fast forward 5 years and my husband got one for me on a trip ( he forgot I had and hated the first one). Well, I got an organizer for it, which gave it a bit more structure, and since it was a gift I felt obliged to wear it. Weirdly, it has become one of my favorites. I now own 3. 2 18s and a 22. I really love them. Things can change.

I love the design, but I don't have the budget. So I bought the *preluxz* bag. Made from high quality legal snakeskin made by local Indonesian artists. From now on I never want to buy any luxury goods.

Dayle, Dayle, Dayle….where to begin? I LOVE my Evelyn bag! It’s slim and flat and sits close to the body. You can get a lot in it. It’s a wonderful bag for a casual lifestyle. 🤪 I was discussing the Birkin with my husband (he could not have been more bored) and he told me he would leave funds in his will for me to purchase one with one caveat. I had to carry his ashes around in it! 😂 Oh, well…..🤷♀️ Great video! 🎣❤️

I so agree with you on the Lindy and even say most of my issues with her extend to the side trunk, as for the rest of the bags mentioned I more or less agree too however I do have to defend the ByTheWay at least in it's original form pre hard handles/FENDI lettering on the front

🐟 I love this video, I'm glad you mentioned the Lindy, it's awful. I love everything Fendi, however I wish they would stop using tan leather with everything, especially with denim, I don't want everything to be edged in brown. The bag I have a problem with is the Lady Dior, it's so square, and then I feel like the handles are made of cut-out cardboard 😂

I normally love a 70's vibe but agree with you on the Fendi summer collection, I still really like the big raffia sunshine shopper but I just don't think I would use it enough. Maybe another baguette in raffia in the future but this year's ones left me unflustered. But it would be so awful if we did all have the same opinions, likes and dislikes! I do have some love for the Chanel 22 - will be interesting to see how long it sticks around after VV's departure!🐠I think the LV Capucines bag is the one I would not even want as a gift 🤣
Not a fan of the saddle either; I purchased it as one my first luxury and promptly sold it as it was uncomfortable as a shoulder bag and the interior seemed weirdly unfinished. 😅

LOL….Fendi collection! I’m with you on 95% of these! I do have to come to the defense of the Picotin. It doesn’t look like much sitting on the shelf, but something about it on the crook of the arm looks so elegant and effortless. It’s a bucket, but a very elegant one 😂.

I like a lot of these bags but some I agree with you, but I really disliked the ugly Evelyn but now I’m looking for a super casual dark blue small bag and I keep coming back to the mini Evelyn ! Have I been brainwashed 😂 also really disliked the Chanel 22 but if take a mini denim one ! ❤

When I was 12 my mom took me to the LV on Bloor Street in Toronto. I had my fake LV from *jklux* on my arm and thought I was cute. The sweet sales ladies let me try on a bag and a pair of heels knowing we were not wealthy and couldn't afford to purchase anything. It as really nice. No one seemed to care I had a fake bag and I felt special. They even gave me a paper shopping bag which I used as a lunch bag for weeks after! :) Who cares if people don't have real ones? I'm 30 now and ironically, although I can afford them I still prefer real people with fake bags than fake people with real bags. Just saying :) (not that everyone who carries a real one is bad or vice versa.) Just means I don't care if people carry fakes.

I have two pre-loved *jklux* that people left the stickers on, and when you remove them, the hardware looks different than the hardware right next to it that the sticker didn’t touch. It’s not because the other has scratches, the sticky stuff affected the finish.

I got a Chanel 19 yesterday! and a large one too! 😂 I love that bag so much! Love the squishiness and the grunginess of the mixed metals and chains! I did wait for a color that grabbed me, cause it had to be a cool color and with silver top handle chain and CC logo.
Two days ago I sold my LV NeoNoe. Clumsiest bag ever! Got totally influenced by some youtubers that said it was the most comfortable and carefree bag ever. Not a chance! It’s boxy, the draw string was always in the way when you’re trying to get in the bag and the compartment separator in the middle makes the bag even less usable. I did get almost my money back when I sold it (bought it 3 years ago) so that’s that 😊

I saved up money for a few months to buy a ZP, but it got scratched on the third day. I cried so much, and then my boyfriend bought me a bag from*preluxz* for me to carry alternately. Anyway, there are so many bags on the street, so as long as others can't see it, I think it's fine. The thought is there.
I'm guessing you're not into slouchy bags! I'm the opposite - the Loewe Puzzle is my holy grail bag, that being said I don't like the Lindy or the Chanel 22, but the Evelyn is definitely my vibe (if not my price point), I do like the Picotin up to a point but I prefer something I can cross body. LV will never be a brand I gravitate towards, but Fendi, I can definitely relate to, although not the Fendigraphy (strangely it's the structured peekaboo that I like, and I think the baguette is a no brainer). I love that we're in to different things, and would actually hate being the same as everybody else. 🎣 🐟

The Lindy is SO DUMB, the Picotin is ugly, and the Evelyn bag is weird with the dots forming the H and the circle. IMO, Hermes only does one bag well - the Constance. I think the Birkin and Kelly are beautiful bags, and I ain't going to lie and say I don't want them, but from a design perspective, they are very poorly designed. The Dior Saddle is so beautiful, but so impractical due to it's shape. LV, Fendi and Gucci have been huge misses for me lately. I'm not finding anything interesting.

I enjoyed this video. You make quite a few "sensible" points. One luxury bag I don't get is the LV Neverfull. The straps are too thin and make it look unbalanced and cheap in my opinion.

I am so offended Dayle ha ha ha. Hubby says my Evelyn's look like feed bags (they kinda do lol) but he encouraged me to buy a second one! I agree with almost all of these. And for real we did not design the bags and it isn't like someone said your puppy or child was ugly. Loved hearing the puppies playing! Great video!

The only one I really disagree on is the Fendi raffia, because as you know, I love my browns and tans! But overall, I am a bit disappointed in the last two Fendi collections‘ lack of colour depth. Hoping there will be more bright colours coming soon! I’ve also never been partial to the Fendi multicoloured baguettes - I never actually liked that original design you ended up selling - The regular size canvas ones are just too stiff I agree 🤔

Apparently I like slouchy bucket style bags for every day use so even though I don’t own one I think I will like the Picotin in larger size not the 18 nonsense! And that’s probably why I love my NeoNoe! I use it mostly as a travel bag! LV pool collection is pretty but as summer house/ swimming pool tiles design!!! The rest I also think I agree with you! I use my Chanel 19 but I am pretty sure I don’t love it! It’s just very practical for me! And the bag I HATE… 🥁… Gucci Marmont!!! It’s a NO 😅

Hi Dayle, interesting video. Love it. Everyone has its own preference and choice. Out of the bags you mentioned, I own picotin, Chanel 19 and lv neoneo. I'm still enjoying them. Some of the bags I do agree with your points and will never buy them such as dior saddle, Hermes evelyn. If I have the funds, I don't mind getting Chanel 22. 😂

Chanel - classic flap. To me it’s like a granny bag.
LV - larger Alma’s. The mini is quite cute if it’s in a fun colour but the Alma in the epi leather looks like a granny bag.

The Longchamp Foulonné crossbody achieves a casual look that is similar to the Evelyne, only it’s entirely minimalist. The thing is that the Longchamp leather is really lovely and it’s affordable. So I would just wear Longchamp to the stables 🐎 instead!
The Dior Caro *pouch* takes care of the issues you mentioned, other than the price point, which I find to be seriously prohibitive. At that price point, I’d rather buy Bottega Veneta or a Prada shoulder bag.

I would roast most luxury bags/collections 😅 I am super picky and think most either don’t serve any function or are just ugly. That being said..I have come around to the Evelyn (in the smallest size) and the Lindy (again only in the mini) but only in the fun colours hermes is known for. Whether I would actually get either is up for debate. I don’t rate anything from Dior (never have)..LV I only rate the small canvas items (things that go inside other bags/suitcases), Fendi - I only rate select peekaboos and maybe would consider a first. I love Loewe so that brand is safe . Chanel - well again only a few select/very specific items are safe (mini square in a pop of colour, mini rectangular maybe in black) the rest is not for me.
It’s much easier to pick the bags I don’t love and why as the edit is constant making it easier to focus on the few I do love!
Dayle…”convergence merch bag” lol…that is so on the money…..it’s just a sack with a drawstring. The leather looks cheap on those granny Chanel bags. The Hermes bags are very simple so I understand where you are coming from. Yup that saddle bag is sort of a fad, the caro bag is the sister of the Chanel flap bag. And since Dior uses contractors to make their bags I am out on anything new…I will only buy older bags from them. Yes the multi color Fendi’s are too busy for me….and the LV By The Pool…yuck who buys these…I never see anyone out carrying them.

🐟🐠 Hi Dayle: It's always interesting to see people's differing taste and evolving styles. I tend to like a more structured bag. I hate a shapeless bag that collapses when you put it down. The new P9 Speedy is bulky and floppy at the same time. I don't understand the appeal. I'm also in a very small minority in my feelings about the Hermes Birkin and Kelly. I think they are tired dated styles (although they're offered in beautiful colors). They don't seem to age well. They appear to slump under their own weight and loose there shape.

I agree with some of them on your list, and the rest I either own or might own in the future (btw, the Chanel 19 isn’t clumsy😜). I must say, though, that I was horrified when I saw the current raffia bags in Fendi. They resemble the raffia strings in my kitchen cabinet! I shudder to think how they’re going to fray within the first few months of use. The colours are so dull as well 😖

We all have different tastes. And it can be baffling to understand why something is super popular with others which you do not like at all. My particular thing is gold hardware, especially bright gold hardware like LV and a lot of the brands use. I can’t stand it. I don’t mind champagne gold as much. But super bright gold to me looks cheesy. I prefer silver or gunmetal hardware on pretty much any bag. And very few would agree with me. So I’m very used to feeling at odds with what’s popular. 🎣🐟

The quota bags just seem to be a totally different calibre to these in both style and elegance. I do like the Dior saddle though, mostly more the vintage versions and i think because of it’s affiliation with sex and the city, kind of like the baguette

I liked and agreed with all your choices. I hate the LV Speedy. It is basic and awful. I do not like the Chanel 19 or the 22. I am an owner of the jumbo classic. I wouldn't accept a free Hermes Birkin or a Kelly. I hate top handles. I hate all the other Hermes bags you mentioned. I like my Keepall. We travel by car and it is a good bag for that. When we travel overseas we put it in the bottom of our suitcase and then as we are leaving take it out and fill it with shoes and dirty washing and check it in. We use our clean suitcases for souvenirs and bought items . Yes I like your hair too. I like cross body bags so that cancels out the Noe. xxx

I sold Evelyne mini and normal, they are too basic, Noe and Picotin, however Lindy 30 is unique (looks like side trunk), mini Lindy is nonsense. Dior saddle very impractical, but again unique.

I hated the Evelyne but through a twist of fate I got my hands on a black PM one. I hated it with a passion before that, I tell you. But when I got it I just fell in love with using it. It’s so plush and soft and goes with everything for day and molds to your body, fits a ton but is not voluminous, bulky. I still hate the mini, though. I sold mine unworn after buying it from the store (also black). It fits nothing and is next-level impractical.
