Introduction to Big Data

Big data is data so large that traditional methods and tools can't handle it. We need new ways of dealing with it. In other words, we can't handle it using our own laptop. We often have several virtual computers or nodes working together in parallel.
Also, when we describe big data, we typically say it has volume (there's lots of it), velocity (it comes really fast), and variety (it comes in a variety of formats).
