That was the most detailed, realistic, honest report for SxS toy hauling. I appreciate your comprehensive description of the toy hauling process. Thanks!
Looks like you have this down to a science!!! My wife wants us to get a camper and i suggested a toy hauler as we plan on buying a CanAm 700 Max next year. This is hands down the best camper video I’ve seen. Great explanations.
This trailer is half ton towable I pulled mine for over a year with a 2019 F150 3.5eb and had zero issues. For those of you with a 4 seat RZR like myself, back it in and put the engine in front of the axles. This helps the tongue weight immensely. Fully loaded with 4 seat RZR, water, fuel and food I'm at 11.5k lbs and 1250 tongue weight. It's a great trailer overall.
@Caelan McKean payload on my F150 was 1868lbs. I have since bought a new F250 Tremor and I will say it tows much better but regardless, the 25G is half ton towable if you have the right setup.
@@mecrob9852 specially a heavy duty payload package f150. Local dealer had one in stock and it had 2350 payload 4x4 crew cab. Wish more dealers ordered hdpp f150’s
Excellent video and accurate information. I have the 2019 25G and a CanAm touring ATV. Getting the weight balanced is the challenge. No machine or slightly moved towards the rear in head winds, cross winds, and semi in the opposing lane the tail wags the dog quickly. Even wind on wet pavement it is felt by the driver. Great quality equipment that requires meticulous loading. This trailer is heavy. I tow with 3/4 ton and white knuckled at times. I could not imagine towing with a half ton truck. Thanks for video and confirming my own loading scheme.
The blanket under the lip of the ramp genius!!! Thank you for that. Ok so here's another genius tip I learned from one of my buddies in the oil field. Before you empty your black tanks, dump two large bags of ice in the toilet before you drive to the dump station. It makes a HUGE difference when its time to dump the tanks.
I have to say thank you for a well done and detailed video. I am looking at the 21g and the 23g and this video was very helpful. I appreciate the time and effort you put into the video to explain things thoroughly.
Great video!! We had a Stryker TT toy hauler. We also have a Teryx. I could never keep that trailer from swaying! Manufacturers need to either move the axles back a further or use spread axles like you see on regular travel trailers. We have since bought a Reflection fifth wheel. I pull doubles when we take the Teryx. Handles great 👍!
It is not a problem on the camper shown but I discovered what would have been a huge problem this morning. The toy hauler I looked at had over head storage in the garage,my SxS would not fit. We really liked the camper, but the CF Mote full cab will never fit. Thanks for the talk about weight for the tongue.
Thank you! Thank you! I mean it! You're right about the 3 season doors, especially up here in Canada! Whoever told you 1/2 ton towable, hook him up and drag him around! I can't thank you enough, keepin it real Alliance Valor just might be your next trailer Brother, or if money isn't an issue an ATC toy hauler, they both give you way more room. Thank you so much!
I loved mine but the sway was terrible if I didn’t balance things out perfectly so I traded it out, nice trailer but not stable enough for me! Great job!
Very well done. I love how you are meticulous and take care of your investment. Those 3-season doors are nice! I have a 2020 Chevy half ton with the max tow pkg so thanks for answering my question on whether or not my truck could tow this (it can't 😔).
Great video!! I’m currently researching toy haulers. You answered some of the questiond I had about the functionality of the unit and towing. Thanks for a very informative video.
Great video, thank you for sharing. You mentioned a General, which we have, XP4. At 12.5' long what would you suggest in a quality toy hauler? We also live in Arizona; we have an RV garage that is 46' long but I want to be able to park my truck tandem with the trailer. Thanks again.
Awesome vid. I just picked up a 2025 same model 25g. I’m going to ask a dumb question. Do you have to have the tow vehicle hooked up to the trailer to load and unload the side by sides? I noticed yours was hooked up in this vid. I’ve never had a toy hauler.
great video, very well done, beautiful trailer. Would like to hear more about the actual numbers you started to discuss on this being a half ton towable but really not even being close.... not doubting you at all, just wanted to see the numbers if you know what they were ball park.
Great video! Few points: 1) you said you’d do a review of the patio doors in detail. I would LOVE a video and have been searching for something that really showed gaps etc. I bought a 28G without doors (used) and am considering adding them. We love parking at lakes etc and you lose the view without the doors. 2) Could you post a link to that table in the video description? That table looks awesome. Thanks again!
I will get this video done very soon! Thank you for bringing it to my attention! My wife bought the table at WalMart. Let me see if it is still available. No longer available in our neck of the woods, but here is the link. www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-5FT-Wood-Folding-Table-Brown-60-x-25-6-x-28-93/456709691?athbdg=L1600
So I have a few questions. In any of your research because I can't find any. Is momentum g series the only toy hauler that makes their campers for 3 season doors??? Also when you are gone from the camper for a period of time do you put the deck up and lock camper or are the patio doors lockable and secure.
I've seen the 3 season doors in many different brand toy haulers if that's what your asking. The doors are lockable from the inside and we have left the ramp down for short periods of time but always close the ramp if we are gone most of the day.
Fantastic video. Your very meticulous like me. I love all the little tips like the rug and table. One concern my wife has about toy hauler is the garage fumes leaking into the living area. What’s your thoughts on your 25G?
Just wondering has anyone tried a Hensley Hitch with these toy haulers? I have Grand Design 297RSTS with a Hensley and NO sway. I am considering Grand Design Toy Hauler and moving the Hensley hitch over! In strong cross winds the trailer and truck will move together. No wagging of trailer!
Do you think if the numbers check out ok that a 23G (the next model down) could be pulled with a half ton with just one dirtbike in the back? We pack very light anyway but it will be a camping season before we can upgrade our truck. I still will have a small safety net based on the paper numbers but I don't want to be swaying down the road.
This was a very educational and informative video. You pointed out somethings like you covering the floor with a rug to protect it. Have you thought about cutting holes in the rug to use the middle tie downs? Besides the side by side and the golf cart, were there other vehicles you carried in your trailer? Looks like a fun setup.
Excellent information, no fluff just useful information. If purchasing again would you still purchase a Grand Design? We are looking for a used toy hauler for a Trail RZR which would fit in almost any toy hauler so our needs are different than many other people. Reliable trailer and fifth wheel is our preference and shorter the better.
In your other video you said you are using a curt weight distribution hitch are you still using it with your new truck if so which model are you using?
The 25G is perfect for my family and the type of camping we do. My last camper was 31' and I think the 25G feels bigger and more comfortable so I have no regrets.
Hey, I’m having issues finding a clearance height on those patio doors. Would you be able to provide the height. I think My unit might be to tall. Any information would be greatly appreciated
Do you think I would have any issues putting an RMAX2 1000 in this trailer? They are a little bit wider than you machine and we really like the layout of the 25G but can’t verify if our machine will fit. Thanks
Great detail on your video, I’m just starting to look around, that interior looks a lot like the Northwoods Desert Fox, you think one company builds them both?
11500k gvw? I am looking at switching from utility 8x20 trailer for my race bike and street bike. My trailer is considered to be 7000k Gvw. Dual axle with brake. I think based on tire capacity. 205/75r15. What tires are on that rig?
Thanks for sharing! I’m looking for a unit that I can get my Pioneer 1000-3 in and it has a factory roof that is about 6.6’ tall and I see that being a challenge! Thanks again!!
Does this rig tow decently with a 1/2 ton pickup truck if you don't plan on driving toys into it? My family loves to fish. I have been looking at this rig with the thought of fishing gear placed in long totes under the happy jacks for travel. Love the doors and the "back porch" for camping/grilling and chilling.
@@meadowbrookguideservice8359 I have a Tundra. I don't want a new truck. I was going to purchase the 21g but they are way heavier in reality than their website indicated. I purchased a lesser Toy hauler. Adrenaline 23 LT. It Won't fit a huge Machine but It's 1000 lbs lighter dry and does not have a slide and a generator on one slide. I had sumo springs they did not work well. I installed airbags and it is very stable now. Also I have an Anderson 'weight distribution' hitch. It does not take almost any way off the rear axle. 100 lbs that's it. I recommend going on a forums and read the comments about the weights or you will be at the dealership buying a new truck as well.
I have a F150 with the 5.0 rated to tow 10900 lbs and looked at the 25g but decided against because of the hitch weight and overall weight. I was going to get a 21g but found a XLR Boost 21qbs which is the same floor plan weight as the 21g for 10k less. The truck tows it fine but I am definitely pushing the limit. My big issue is keeping the truck under the GVW because the tongue weight is so high and that is with or without the machine in the camper and two adults and no gear in the truck. I plan on getting a 3/4 ton next year. My camper does have a slide in the front if you got one without a slide you may be OK.
@@meadowbrookguideservice8359 I'm looking at this camper right now, and I have a 2014 Tundra and plan on telling it with it. I hope it works because I don't want to get rid of the pickup either
Thanks for sharing! What did you do to your rear ramp screens? I saw that you stood them up and then you somehow latched them in so that they stay standing. I did not know that they could do that. Can you please share with me what you did?
hey sir, I know you gave a great explanation in your other video on why the 1500 truck couldn't handle all this, but i dont own a 'toy' or big-ass off road machine in the back of the camper and just wanna use that space for the patio and living space. i was looking into a 28G, 33ft long, unloaded 8500 lb. loaded would be just 20 gallons of fuel for generator, 100 gal fresh water, personal items and supplies for me and maybe one more person, 1500lbs + 8500 = 10,000lbs total trailer GVW. Do you reckon the 1500 would be able to handle my situation?
Even empty it was scary. People do it all the time but I would not. The momentum is tall and heavy so its not just the weight but wind factor as well. A well built 1500 maybe but not stock.
I love the layout of this toy hauler. I went and looked at one - the quality and features seem great too. Sadly $70K is just not reasonable to me for a hobby hauler. There is a lot of options out there for half the price if you can do without a few of the extras.
Ive been looking at a 21G. But i"ll be close to or maxing out my 2017 Nissan balf ton with gear and all. Well thought out video on the weight distribution. They shoukd move the axles back, only a bit would make a difference, tho that changes turning radious on road and when trying to park at a spot. The asking price here in Canada of 78K is unreasonable, for something with no drive axles, no transmission, no engine and much more. I want one but don't see the value. For 50k id be all in. But nearing a hundred k is absolute theft.
I thought in one of your video's I saw that you added a second battery and a tire pressure sensor system... What did you add? Would you buy it again and was it easy to install?
I do have dual batteries which I would never go without, however I have not decided on a TPMS yet but when I do it'll have both pressure and temperature monitoring.
I have a polaris General and a 2'x3' wide honda inverter generator. How much room is there behind your side x side. Trying to figure out if my polaris General
With the 3 season doors you will barely be able to squeeze between the machine and the doors and that's pulling up 8 inches to front cabinets. The recliners take up the additional space in the rear. After everything is strapped down and loaded up you could fit the generator in the hall but it's going to be tight. Are you not planning on getting the built in generator?
Hey bud, appreciate the info. I'm actually looking at this trailer because my daughter is in a wheelchair. I don't plan on hauling anything heavy in it. Do you think your Silverado 1500 could have handled it for my type of use? I actually have an 18 Silverado LTZ Z71 6.2 with the 8 speed.
I have a friend that lives in east san diego county and regularly tows this trailer through the mountains out there, up to julian, up the grades on the 8 toward Arizona, etc. He has a crew cab 2020 silverado rst with the 5.3. I think if you go to an RV dealer they would you hook your truck up and tow it around. You can also research towing on chevrolet's site. Just watch out for the internet police who think you need a 3500 dually for any RV.
Thanks for the comment, the doors will open to 84", however on the 25G with the slide in is just under 73". The doors would work but not the 25G trailer.
@@tetradgroup Thanks so much for the quick reply! I’m actually looking at the 29G, and my measurements inside the garage show it’ll fit, I just didn’t think when I was at the dealer to measure between the three season doors to make sure I can get the unit in, until I saw your video that is! I’m assuming the 29G won’t be more narrow than the 25 at that spot, but need to confirm. Just found your channel. Lots of cool stuff - you just got another sub!
I slightly open the roof vents, and immediately unload machine when I reach location so it's never stored in the trailer. We have never had any fumes or gas smells.
@@tetradgroup Thanks for the quick reply. I plan to add a Maxxfan with a remote and cover so I can leave the main vent in the garage open all the way while going down the road. I hate that I have to have a short ladder or use a broom handle to raise and lower the vent cover. For what we paid for them, you would think they would have included at least one remote high capacity fan.
Thank you for the great videos on your 25G toy hauler. I have been interested in the same model. Curious what the height clearance is with the 3 season doors and happy jack couches. I have a 2018 Polaris General 2 door. You mentioned in your video about another owner with a general 4 door fitting with added weight to the rear, but wondering how/if the 2dr will fit with the height and length. Also, if the 2dr will affect the tongue weight you mentioned. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment, I think weight will not be to big of an issue for you as long as you have a 3/4 ton truck. I'll get you some measurements later today.
I have a brand new 2022 21G Grand Delusion the Refrigerator didn't work when I picked it up. The Warranty on this Refrigerator has been a total NIGHTMARE 🔥 No Refrigerator for going on three weeks now 😢 They can look at it on August 30th. Who knows when they get the Parts to fix it. Refrigerator is made in China and will most likely be RECALLED.
I would be hesitant to say yes being that there are many different half-ton truck options. One thing about the Polaris is the engine is far to the rear so if your machine's backed in you might have a better balance trailer. The momentums are tall and heavy mainly due to the build quality. So you have to take that into consideration with wind and the possibility of emergency maneuvers on the road. I would highly recommend a 2500 if possible.
@@randellplayforth669 We've looked into a 21G before too, to tow with a half ton Ram. But after some calculations, we would have been either right at or over our payload capacity every single tow. Then we couldn't take anybody with us or any extra gear for special trips. Toy haulers large enough to fit side by sides are a bit heavy for half tons in my opinion.
You would have to check your hitch capacity calculated with your weight distribution hitch, however even empty I would not recommend this trailer for a 1/2 ton truck.
Put some 1500 pounds cheater roller spring on your truck. It's a bolt on no drilling it only kicks in when you need it. With the sway bar your problems are solved.
Man!! That right there is unbelievable. You actually can't tow your trailer level, without experiencing trailer sway!! That might be proof that Fifth Wheel toy haulers are the only ones that tow safe and comfortable. As you said, too much weight behind the axles.
Depends on the machine I guess. The geometry of the ramp and dovetail will not allow me to back in without the roof of the SxS hitting the top of the 3 season doors, personally I have to pull in forward,
It is my understanding that it would it not matter how much weight (within tongue weight limits of course) the machine is as long as the weight is centrally located over the trailer axials? as an example here is a video of sway issues .... th-cam.com/video/JeEEC5eVNCk/w-d-xo.html . Thank for the fantastic video showing the loaded and unloaded 25G!!

This just happened to be the option for the ramp to also be used as a back deck. I used the bolts that were provided to lock the railings into place.
Our 25G does not have that option. We did get the rear ramp stairs finally yesterday. They are awesome!
What kind of deal did u get on your trailer
what is the height and width of your side by side? I have a Pioneer 1000 5 seater and wondering if it will fit in that space.
hey sir, I know you gave a great explanation in your other video on why the 1500 truck couldn't handle all this, but i dont own a 'toy' or big-ass off road machine in the back of the camper and just wanna use that space for the patio and living space. i was looking into a 28G, 33ft long, unloaded 8500 lb. loaded would be just 20 gallons of fuel for generator, 100 gal fresh water, personal items and supplies for me and maybe one more person, 1500lbs + 8500 = 10,000lbs total trailer GVW. Do you reckon the 1500 would be able to handle my situation?
Even empty it was scary. People do it all the time but I would not. The momentum is tall and heavy so its not just the weight but wind factor as well. A well built 1500 maybe but not stock.
How much extra did the three season does cost? Thanks.
PS I found the answer to my other question in your next video, so I edited my question.
I'd have to check my sales invoice but I think between $2k-$3k factory installed. Worth every penny in my opinion.
I love the layout of this toy hauler. I went and looked at one - the quality and features seem great too. Sadly $70K is just not reasonable to me for a hobby hauler. There is a lot of options out there for half the price if you can do without a few of the extras.
$70K????? Wow I didn't pay anywhere near that price. It is a nice trailer but not $70k nice. I can't believe they have gone up so much in just 1 year.
Wow I only paid 47 000 for mine and its a 2021 29g
@@gardnetbush9768 Yeah, I think these dealers are making their money when they can. 2 years from now they will be starving.
@@JD-so1vl you are right I'm going to the RV show here in Michigan February 5th I wonder how much the price will be jacked up
We just priced one yesterday from our dealer in CA, $83,421!!!! This should be about $50k
Hello. Where do you store your sewer hose ?
Under the rear of the trailer is a storage compartment. A tube behind the rear axle.
@@tetradgroup I already have a really quiet honda 7000 inverter so I hate to spend another 4k on another generator.
Will 2 2-seater touring four wheelers fit in the garage?
I don't think so
Great video! Question for you - how wide is the opening with the 3 season doors? Trying to figure out if a 72” Can Am X3 will fit in there.
@@goldbergdanny i have the 29g and yes like he said they open to the same open as the ramp door
This is very informative. Although, for me, what you call a "machine" I call 10 cats that I plan to take traveling with me, lol.
How do you vent the gas fumes when you are rolling down the road? Other toy haulers have the side vents for transport?
I slightly open the roof vents, and immediately unload machine when I reach location so it's never stored in the trailer. We have never had any fumes or gas smells.
@@tetradgroup Thanks for the quick reply. I plan to add a Maxxfan with a remote and cover so I can leave the main vent in the garage open all the way while going down the road. I hate that I have to have a short ladder or use a broom handle to raise and lower the vent cover. For what we paid for them, you would think they would have included at least one remote high capacity fan.
Where did u get the table ?
Wal Mart special!
why not use your winch as the 3rd front point if you really feel you need one. It's going to out-hold any ratchet strap.
@@tetradgroup Thank you. Yes, I have a diesel 3/4 ton silverado 4wd pickup.
@@tetradgroup Did you ever find out the height measurements? Our SXS is 77” tall. I can’t find the height with the bed and couches up anywhere.
Sounds very frustrating. Sorry to hear that
Where did you get the table from?

Do you think the 21G would be 1/2 ton towable with a 2021 rzr xp1000?
I would be hesitant to say yes being that there are many different half-ton truck options. One thing about the Polaris is the engine is far to the rear so if your machine's backed in you might have a better balance trailer. The momentums are tall and heavy mainly due to the build quality. So you have to take that into consideration with wind and the possibility of emergency maneuvers on the road. I would highly recommend a 2500 if possible.
I appreciate the quick response man. I was kinda feeling that way too. Thanks
Would a half ton truck be able to pull this without an ATV of toy inside? Or would the tongue weight be too much?
You would have to check your hitch capacity calculated with your weight distribution hitch, however even empty I would not recommend this trailer for a 1/2 ton truck.
Put some 1500 pounds cheater roller spring on your truck. It's a bolt on no drilling it only kicks in when you need it. With the sway bar your problems are solved.
What’s the max width sxs it can fit and length also?
Man!! That right there is unbelievable. You actually can't tow your trailer level, without experiencing trailer sway!! That might be proof that Fifth Wheel toy haulers are the only ones that tow safe and comfortable. As you said, too much weight behind the axles.
All you have to do is back the ranger in
Depends on the machine I guess.
Just load the sxs in reverse
