I have fine straight hair. I find that less is more when using hair products. I only use shampoo conditioner leave in and hair oil only on the ends. I only apply styling products when I actually style my hair and use low heat. I noticed curling my fine hair makes my hair look thicker
Less is more - yes love that! No need to waste products if not styling. curling always makes the hair look so much thick because of the added movement it gives it, great way to make your color pop too if you have any highlights or low lights to show the dimension more!
Hi Summer, I love your channel, thanks to you and a couple of other hair experts on TH-cam I started taking a good care of my hair. Do you have any advice for women who are going through menopause?
I used to get my hair bleached but no matter how much I took care of it I always ended up with split ends. I finally decided to go back to my natural hair color over a year ago and I'm trying to see how long I can get my hair. I do have fine hair and I mostly struggle with volume. I can get okay results on day one but day two is super flat and it only gets worse from there.
Yes the bleach is so stressful! I limit myself to only about 2 - 3 highlights a yr. I'm actually going in next week to have mine lightened a bit and I'm doing all the K18 to prep my hair 😂. Did you see lasts weeks video? th-cam.com/video/zmGKMivMEpc/w-d-xo.html it touches on getting volume to last!
@@SummerBeautyc Yes, I was only bleaching it twice a year and it was still too much for my hair so no more of that for me. ☺️ I did watch your last video and will have to experiment. Today is wash day so we'll see what happens! 🥴
@@SummerBeautyc Okay, I used the Evolvh InstaVolume Cleansing Treatment and Evolvh Volumizing Elixir today. Then I used the Alterna Volumizing Mist and Volumizing Mousse along with a tiny bit of Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee. I dried my hair upside down and I definitely got some volume. My ends seemed a bit poofy (I have wavy hair) which I honestly didn't mind since it made my hair look thicker. The real test will be tomorrow since it's usually super flat on day two. My hair goes to the middle of my back so I suspect that may also be why it's not as easy to retain volume.
My hair is past the waist…. So volume is very hard. I just want it not stuck to my head… so I do all the things and blow dry, then IMMEDIATELY put a bun straight up top and go to bed. It gives perk at the roots at least a little. Then I curl the next day. My hair is medium and straight. I found Kenra thermal spray literally is light years ahead of redken hot sets in hold. No comparison! Thank you for your videos they are stellar and you’re so beautiful and talented!!
Yes! This is what I do with my hair at night because it keeps it nice and lifted, makes SUCH a difference! Thank you for the Kenra suggestion, going to have to get that. Hold is king!
Thank you for this great video! Was one of your clients at the "L" salon and miss your haircuts so much. You always made my crazy hair look great! At least I can still get tips from you on here! Thank you again
I’ve been getting my hair bleached blond for more years than I can remember 😥of course my hair is thin dry & damaged. I’m using some Olaplex products, but I know my hair will never be strong & healthy! You are fabulous & so is your channel 🤗
Ah yes the bleach is tough! I'm getting mine highlighted tomorrow and scared lol. Ive been prepping my hair with all the K18! I do only highlight and low light my hair 3 to 4 times a yr these days. I miss the brightness and contrast a base color with highlights give but I do enjoy the low maintenance for now. I'm sure once my gray starts coming in that will change 🤣. I'm hoping to take after my mom's side of the family. My great grandmother didn't gray until her 80s, my grandmother 70s and my mom in her 60s has little gray!
Thank you for your videos! I have thin straight oily hair and the only way to get any volume and to wash hair less is highlights. It’s been a lifesaver for me so I hope I don’t have to give that up 😀
Fine and straight hair, but a lot of it. I tend to struggle with keeping moisture, especially in Colorado and even more especially if I get highlights. @SummerBeauty…my blow dryer just burned out. Do you have a recommendation for fine hair ladies?
Your hair sounds just like mine except it's so humid in FL moisture is not a problem for me! I would love to recommend you a dryer! Do you have a budget you're wanting to stay in?

I went and got the ends trimmed. I’m doing massages every night with rosemary oil and Vegamour growth serum. II’m also doing olaplex 0;3;4;5;8. It seems to help a lot but my ends are still so fried! I’ve also done the k18 shampoo and the mask and it has helped too, but it seems like olaplex does much more good than the k18. I also got the bonding oil from olaplex. It’s fantastic. My hair has breakage all over 😢. It makes me so angry, but oh well. Lesson absolutely learned ☝️

Cave days😂! I appreciate all the effort that you put into creating content for us👌. I am in the coarse category, but with all my hair tools and products, I find that I can manage my hair. My struggle: I have been experimenting with the Dyson Airwrap for a year now and don't find success with keeping the curls to last. I know it is not a traditional curling iron and that you get more of a blowout look, but by the time that I am done with all my hair, it has just dropped. I have tried mousse, pinning, hairspray , everything. I find it works best when my hair is damp, but then I don't like the final results as my roots aren't smooth as I had to leave it damp.

@SummerBeautyc Absolutely agree with you! I completely understand the love-hate relationship! I have also tried spritzing mid lengths to ends after I have dried my hair, but it didn't work for me as the curls would just drop very quickly. I have fine hair & just got a killer cut & highlight done today…suggestions for the right shampoo to protect my color? I went several shades lighter than my regular color. Hoping it doesn’t get brassy!
Awesome! I actually reallly love the Olaplex Purple Shampoo. amzn.to/3S6qFvd This is something you don't use every single wash, it's meant to be a once a week type shampoo. So many clients of mine love this and actually were telling me about it before I started suggesting it. It's all over nice as far as toning out brass but not being too drying. No crazy high heat, as that can cause yellowing on lighter hair and heat protectant always! Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!
Can you do a video showing how exactly to blow dry hair for most volume? And how to deal with a back part, esp after day one when it become more prominent.
I am going gray and have thin with gray normal to thick hair mixed in. I find the usual products I used just arent enough to tame the gray wiry hair coming in. Heavier products weigh down the thinner hair. Its frustrating and not sure there is anything can do. Any suggestions?
My hair is thin, and my biggest struggle is to regrow the hair strands next to my face. For some reason, I started to have a kind of fringe (that I never cut). It started years ago, and this hair never grows back to the length of the rest of my hair...Sometimes it gets longer, but then some strands are shorter again. I don't know what causes it.
So I definitely do not have silky straight hair its not wash and go. It has a bit of a frizz to it so I definitely have to dry it with a blow dryer and round brush which does give it volume and it will hold curl. However, my hair is thin. What products can I use. It's a struggle to fight frizz but not way down my already thin hair. On a side note I do weave blond into my hair.
