Production-wise, yes it is much better. But the vibe of these old tracks was just so fresh when they were first released. A lot less formulaic in terms of synth patches. After Getter started blowin up (in the underground, before he got REALLY big) everyone kinda stuck to same structure and style of synths. Yeah, the drums and sound design has gotten really nice, but its lacking soul these days imo.
this was my first Datsik set. He became a favorite instantly. So stoked for this year.I cant even contain how excited I am, I feel like slapping bitches.
Speaking from someone who appreciates good camera work, The Dj Vibe Shambhala videos are quite breathtaking. They have this perfect angle where you can all hell itself breaking loose and The producer pioneering it. The audio is the best i have heard. But you don't have to take my word for it im just really high.
Song at 4:18min is "Hizzleguy - Drop". You can get it from the ep call "Full Clip EP". The ep contain some hizzleguy tracks and AFK tracks. Thumps up if that helped you, I always like to find a song name when I don't know aha :)
Funny I was watching all the shambhala vids again and realized there was no Datsik and was thought to myself wonder what his performance was like and here we go found this in my subs box
@Beast3217 Do you mean why does he have both a laptop and a cdj? If that's your question it's because the cdj allows for more interactive mixing of his set. The laptop is running the music. MIDI.
@Kridjetfilmz Well ableton doesn't use the same way to mix as a normal person would do on decks, vynil etc so your right. But ableton do take time so you can be able to mix, so in a way, you skip a bit the part of beatmaching with decks, vynil, cdjs. He still put times in it before the set and need to know how to mix songs to plan a good set. Looking at what he does on the video. He's lauching clips (songs) and playing with effects. (You still need to know ur timing thought)
@SPEEDFR3AKx yeah a whole DJ set would be rad but It is really hard to just stay in one place for a whole hour ya know. but may try and do a LIVE stream at one stage this year. see how it goes. Just seeing all the gear I will need to make it happen. may just leave a cam on a tripod setup for the whole night. so I can still go and move around a bit and PARTY!
2x Pioneer CDJ 2000s, Pioneer DJM 900 Mixer, I see Ableton Live with a Novation Launchpad controller. I can see one other controller/sampler but idk what it is
It was definitely more underground, that's for sure. It seems like it is becoming to mediatized now though, many people are starting to make it cliche; in movie trailers and commercials, etc. This is the market adapting to what it thinks the youth enjoys, and it is watering down the genre.
The intro song is Datsik - Nuke 'em. The first song he plays in front of the crows is Original Sin - Air Raid, although it has been mixed by him and as such sounds a good bit differant. (A little better in my opinion.) While i'm at it if you have the time to check my shit out and leave some feedback i'd really appreciate it. I suck ass compared to the likes of Datsik, but i'm working on it.
@ddogthepimp Ya I master the audio in Soundbooth and then boost it in Premeire a bit. We use this crazy Mic from Japan called the Zoom H4N for all of our recordings.. Its around 300 bucks, best money I ever spent.
no doubt they're massive top-notch festivals, which i eventually want to get to, but this shindig is organized and run on private property by the family who owns the land, with absolutely no corporate sponsorship and little to no police presence. not many festivals give you the sheer freedom, atmosphere and production quality that sham does, so until you go to this remarkable slice of heaven stop chirping
@khiry222 No prob, I kind of knew you know it because AFK and hizzleguy had tracks in the same ep call "Full Clip EP". So might have been just a mistake like that :D
this really is his favorite place! at electric forest, datsik picks up the mic, halfway through the set... "you guys are fucking crazy!!! (motions to excision beside him, who came for a surprise visit) you guys are incredible, this has been one of the best sets i`ve ever had, this place comes close to my favorite fucking festival in the entire world, shambhala!`` you might expect me to say everyone cheered, but it`s a little awkward to be told you`re second best :P a hiccup, a small one
yeah i noticed the flyer states an extra 50,000 watts of PK sound.. well.. how many watts was it before that? and whats the total?? lol btw X tour was nuts.. lol
yo DATSIK kills it wherever he goes.....props on this show especially....straight killed it with dat mix.......and props to some of thos drops on keeping it to the roots....'dat wu tang killa shit"......yo u and funtcase...should do up some tracks.....just saying...San DIego out..
I know this reply is crazy late and you probably know now, but in case you don't and still want to know, he has the DJM 900 mixer midi mapped in ableton, and then he uses the launch pad to play his songs. I think he also has a launch control dedicated to effects out of ableton.
@Kridjetfilmz I think downlink said something about datsik doing something like that once on his facebook. So Maybe? From the laptop screen it seems like it.
Where do I get that Rottun Recordings flag/tapestry? Rottun and Subhuman rule the dubstep scene, and Im loving the stuff Datsik's label Firepower is putting out.
2020 and still waiting for these kinda shows to come back
Bro this is my go to video for when I want a nostalgic taste of the good dirty dubstep days. Need this shit in my life!
Soundhaven and infrasound festival my friend
miss this kind of dubstep
lol why? the dubstep that's come out the last year or two is way better than this.
Production-wise, yes it is much better. But the vibe of these old tracks was just so fresh when they were first released. A lot less formulaic in terms of synth patches. After Getter started blowin up (in the underground, before he got REALLY big) everyone kinda stuck to same structure and style of synths. Yeah, the drums and sound design has gotten really nice, but its lacking soul these days imo.
then again, my opinion on this changes per how i'm feeling. I love me some Trampa, Midnight T, etc.
You must be smoking some shitty dope lol
@@lh282 thats deep dubstep, i think this excision style, this is like the first step of what we got today,,, i also miss this dubstep sound
KING OF DUBSTEP I need to get to a DATSIK show!
when people youtube search Dubstep Live....this should be the default video. no doubt. INSANE WORK!!
this was my first Datsik set. He became a favorite instantly. So stoked for this year.I cant even contain how excited I am, I feel like slapping bitches.
U should have seen him at forest. Set was dirty
Logan Larocque I miss datsik. Lol
I feel like slapping bitches hahahaha
Datsik killed it at Shambhala 2015, I liked his set more than Excision's that year (yeah yeah "blasphemy" I know lol)
@@ajack1312 Have always like Datsik sets more than Excisions lol all good. But lots of love for Excision too
I was there, on one of the ramparts just losing my mind during this show! So epic!
Speaking from someone who appreciates good camera work, The Dj Vibe Shambhala videos are quite breathtaking. They have this perfect angle where you can all hell itself breaking loose and The producer pioneering it. The audio is the best i have heard. But you don't have to take my word for it im just really high.
Anyone in 2021 still prefer old school datsik
Datsik i cant wait to see you soon bro. ur music is amazing and ur bass is incredible
1:35 - Air Raid - Original Sin
2:45 - Delta Heavy - Hold Me
4:18 AFK - Drop
5:41 - Roksonix - Madness

I think this is the best bass on a recording I've heard!
Still remember when he played at concord music hall in Chicago his bass tore a part of the roof and he had to stop 20min into his set was wild
I”m a simple person, i saw Datsik live set i press play

This was too fucking good and now we don't even have a datsik :'(
well your gonna like it hes a beast and props for the other performers there great too
Song at 4:18min is "Hizzleguy - Drop". You can get it from the ep call "Full Clip EP". The ep contain some hizzleguy tracks and AFK tracks. Thumps up if that helped you, I always like to find a song name when I don't know aha :)
OH MY GAWD FINALLY DATSIK SHAMB FOOTAGE YES YES YES

Thank you for the tracklist. I would have died without.
Man that one girl beside him is Tulsa.

Funny I was watching all the shambhala vids again and realized there was no Datsik and was thought to myself wonder what his performance was like and here we go found this in my subs box

Alright, She's skanking out better then most chicks do at dub events she at least sorta knows what the fuck's up, Don't hate on datsiks girl
This video went hard af when I was 10 (I’m 23 now). I’ll probably be back in 2030 to watch this piece of history once again
That first major bass drop at 2:16 is just
Datsik and Excsission are two cyborgs who are sent from the dubstep gods to teach us humans, WHAT IS MUSIC !♥
sorry for bad english, German here. :)
2:43 gives me the chills every time i love it
Yeah i heard it in 2008, the first dubstep song that i heard was caspa - wears my money
yoo that chick dancing its fucking hoot lool
i didnt hear of skrillex till about a month ago and ive been listening to dubstep for 4 years....
@Beast3217 Do you mean why does he have both a laptop and a cdj? If that's your question it's because the cdj allows for more interactive mixing of his set. The laptop is running the music. MIDI.
The intro is "swagga by datsik&exsicion" the live playing first song is "air raid by original sin"
She's just enjoying the dubstep guys.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
OLD SCHOOL LIKE BACK IN THE DAY!!!!
@Kridjetfilmz Well ableton doesn't use the same way to mix as a normal person would do on decks, vynil etc so your right. But ableton do take time so you can be able to mix, so in a way, you skip a bit the part of beatmaching with decks, vynil, cdjs. Wow what a throwback
Fuckkkk that bass is so heavy! tickles my ears! Cant wait till this Saturday! Going down in nashville baby!!

@SPEEDFR3AKx yeah a whole DJ set would be rad but It is really hard to just stay in one place for a whole hour ya know. but may try and do a LIVE stream at one stage this year. see how it goes. All the good generes come from the UK.. always
Esto si es dubstep
Wow really? Thanks! Nobodys ever thought i was cool before! That made my day (:
what is the song after nuke em, but before air raid. at 1:00
I’m pretty sure it’s a sample he made up I don’t think it’s a actual song and added some lyrics in it but it might be a song he made I’m not sure
A combination between datsik - mechano and downlink - biohazard (I think)
2x Pioneer CDJ 2000s, Pioneer DJM 900 Mixer, I see Ableton Live with a Novation Launchpad controller. I can see one other controller/sampler but idk what it is
Damn.... Datsik be doing mad work on dem decks!
BC FTW!!! gotta love livin in the dubstep capitol of the world (kelowna BC) :D
shambhala is awesome.. its so chill..
Air Raid is so fucking heavy
Not as heavy as Drop
I really love that robotic sound in the begining sort of. After nuke em'!
@djvibetv if your gonna record a full set, can you do a Pretty Lights Concert?
It was definitely more underground, that's for sure. It seems like it is becoming to mediatized now though, many people are starting to make it cliche; in movie trailers and commercials, etc. This is the market adapting to what it thinks the youth enjoys, and it is watering down the genre.

Filters, volume, bass control, Fading, and looping:)
One of the best!
Can someone plz put up a list to all the tracks used in this vid all of these songs are dope!!!!
@ddogthepimp Ya I master the audio in Soundbooth and then boost it in Premeire a bit. We use this crazy Mic from Japan called the Zoom H4N for all of our recordings.. Its around 300 bucks, best money I ever spent.

the late night shows used to, in 2009 i think benga's 'night' was voted best electronic music tune of the year by them
@khiry222 No prob, I kind of knew you know it because AFK and hizzleguy had tracks in the same ep call "Full Clip EP". So might have been just a mistake like that :D
If you're not talking about Nuke Em, the next track is Original Sin - Air Raid
Needs more cow bell.
this really is his favorite place!
at electric forest, datsik picks up the mic, halfway through the set...

Hopefully Datsik & Excision are still making Dubstep until i'm old enough to go Shambhala.
4 more years. :D
Yeah that's what Excision used last year. But Datsik's not coming to my town :'(
does he perform with ableton, one cdj a launchpad and another controller?
I know this reply is crazy late and you probably know now, but in case you don't and still want to know, he has the DJM 900 mixer midi mapped in ableton, and then he uses the launch pad to play his songs. I think he also has a launch control dedicated to effects out of ableton.
such awesome sound in this vid. pro quality.
DATSIK in the house yoh!
Hey there's this new thing called the description. You should check it out...
1:01 360 NO SCOOOOOPE!!!
DieselBoy, one of the orginal Dj's and the best
@squlan im pretty sure datsik uses logic pro
@Kridjetfilmz I think downlink said something about datsik doing something like that once on his facebook. So Maybe? From the laptop screen it seems like it.
Omg iwas trying to find the first song and i searched air raid and doctor p ad flux came up and it was in the description the whole time -.-
I need that second song. That was transition was too sick.
jerry.. You're right for dubstep. Not for all music generes.. Holland is boss with hardstyle, dance, house and trap...
Tell Datsik
, Calvin Gordon said keep killin it
I need to go to one of these events. Oh shit I live in the UK :/
@djvibetv do you bass boost these recordings? or is your camera/mic that incredible?
what brand of hat does datsik wear its dope as hell
If he gets a PK sound system then the two will be comparable. Excision's was just too ridiculous to handle and I loved every minute of the show :)
It is Shambahla, so we gotta keep in mind that a lot of those people had been raving non stop for days.
I love that he's doing this with abelton, This dubstep is HEAVY.
i can safely say, i REMEMBER when dubstep concerts were this good.
Where do I get that Rottun Recordings flag/tapestry? Rottun and Subhuman rule the dubstep scene, and Im loving the stuff Datsik's label Firepower is putting out.
To be more specific, it is Complextro.
