I've been told that i'm a bit naive for a lifetime... and now i realize that i've heard this song some 100 times, sung by some 5 different artists, and before reading the lyrics in this description i have always misheard "he/she SPENT a summer by my side" for "SLEPT"... damn.

The emotion in his performance is very subtle. But I agree it's because it's a studio recording. If this was for a performance it would be very different. Still love this version though
