If you ever want to try something cool listen to the original Savior by rise against with headphones and only put on/in the right ear. The first 20 seconds are just him singing without the music. It feels like hes just singing for you. I found it pretty awesome :)

Hi Cole. I think I finally understand what you meant by adding to the musical experience. I heard this concept a bit differently in an interview of Charlie McCoy, a harmonica player from Nashville. He said that new players have to understand that less is more, and narrated a story from his recording past. The soundman would especially turn his volume down when he played his solos, because they didnt add to the experience. McCoy said that I ll play less, but when I play, its gonna be so damn good that it will add to the song. I feel that you have embodied the same idea with this version. Adding melodic sounding part was a welcome addition, as well as those high notes. This song made me subscribe to you 4 years earlier, and today I am very happy that I did!

Having said that you have a unique style that is one of a kind and I wanna play a song/make one with you! Please message me it would mean a lot to me!

I remember seeing your cover 5 years ago and I absolutely fell in love with your play style. I remember watching it over and over again while I went through scales and warm ups as inspiration to keep practicing. It’s really cool to see how your style has the same vigor it did before, but how it has also matured. There were definitely times in the second play through where you choose not to play a flashy solo and instead allowed your playing to collaborate with the music as a whole, which in turn showcased the music and its nuances very well. I absolutely loved the first cover but as a musician, I appreciate the second one a lot more and I think you should be really proud of it. You took an awesome song and found the balance between making it your own and not losing the original character of the song, which is super cool to see.

Okay, I need to leave a comment here, although I very seldom do so.
First of all, you are an insanely talented guitarist and the way you arrange songs makes you a great musician in general.
I got to know you through your joint works with Lauren Babic (whom I've been following for more than 4 or 5 years now).
I love most of the songs you cover and at this point, I'm not sure whether or not you take requests but I have one.
Since you covered Through The Fire & Flames it shouldn't be the hardest challenge ever for you, but it's definitely no easy song : Children Of Bodom - Kissing the Shadows.
When you search for that song's guitar covers here on TH-cam, there are almost only pretty low quality covers, save for one. It's the one with the most views, by a guy named metalsuki.
Now that cover is an old school cover from 8 years ago (!!!), meaning with crappy sound and camera BUT ALSO something I never see in your covers (and would make it a lot harder for you haha), the whole thing is in one take. No fancy transitions or editing.
I'd absolutely love to see YOUR one take guitar cover of that song. And I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one.

Preferred the original cover you did of this one, tbh. I hate being negative (because I can't do any of the insane guitar work that you do), but if you're going to do covers, I miss when you would put a lot of thought into making them different and stand out. Adding in your own lead guitar with interesting new takes on instrumental harmonies(Original Savior, Faint, Smooth Criminal) or choosing a song I wouldn't expect to get rocked out (Hello, Everytime We Touch, Stay The Night). It seems like lately you're just copying rock songs with minor tweaks instead of making them your own. Just my two cents. I still subscribe and will be buying your next album as well. Take care man.
