You are amazing You explain everything so you can understand I have made quite a few of your blankets ,just wondered if I could use the dress yoke for a matinee jacket xx
I have made two of this set and work on my third everyone has loved the pattern and has want for the new granddaughter on the birthday way. This is a beautiful set thank you for sharing .Diane from Virginia
I made this today and i had never done a cross stitch. The way you explained it made it so easy to do. The dress is beautiful and I can’t wait to make the hat.
I have made 5 of these sets now (dress, blanker and hat). You are very easy to follow! Each time I make the dress I wonder about the other dress you show in the video. Do you have a video of that dress?
just add an extra 2 it would be easier, (the first chain in the foundation takes away stitches, some people like myself just miscount i would just add extra 2 at the beginning see if that works out for you.
The count does not match, true. I even graphed it. End of Row 1 has 48 sts, end of Row 2 has 64 (not 65) sts, end of Row 3 has 81 (not 82). I think what happened was that in Row 2, Jane did 2DC in ea. of 1st *two* sts (1 in same as Ch-3 and 2 in next st) and 1DC in next 2sts, but did *2DC in next, followed by 1DC in next 2 sts* for the rest of the row. There were 16 increases. [48+16 =64] But, in Row 3, Jane did 2DC only in 1st st (same as where the Ch-3 was), followed by 1DC in ea of next 3 sts, followed by 2DC in next, etc. The total number of increases was thus 17. 64+17=81. Thus, let's say you only did the INITIAL 2DC in row 2 (not the two sets that she did). You would have 63 stitches at end of row 2, and add the new 17 increases of round 3, and you do, indeed have only 80 stitches. 🙂
I can't remember but you can do it any length you want to. It was intended for a long christening gown then my friend's daughter asked for it to be shorter like this.
Good morning Allison I have a quick question how many stitches would I need to make this dress into a premie dress and newborn plz and for the arm hole too thankyou x
I am so sorry i don't know if you use a smaller hook and thin yarn this will come out very small give it a try you will be surprised what a difference a smaller hook makes
Idk what I'm doing wrong I'm on the 4th row and I keep getting 99 stitches thought maybe I was just really tired. So I moved to row 5 still getting 99.. all the other rows matched up...
you simply might have just done something at the start of a row for the stitch change, you can either take it back or just sneakily add spaced out what you need
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel I took them out.. thank you so much I just love all your videos.. please let me know where I can send a yarn donation. I've learned some very beautiful stitches from you. Thank you
0 -3 months Please bear in mind not all newborns are the same size so you can add another round to make it wider. Or add another 8 chains at the beginning. 4 of those extra stitches will be added to the front and 2 each to the 2 halves of the back. The armhole count should still be ok to fit up to 6 months old. I hope you understand that Sylvia, I am not so good at written explanations hahahah
Why do u call it a treble crochet when u dont put the yarn around the hook 3 times only, no wonder u get the stitches mixed up when u make a treble when u make a double crochet, u wind it around the hook only once!!!
I don't get them mixed up. in the UK a double is no wind around the hook, a treble is winde once around the hook, a double treble is wind around twice. The USA has diffrent terms, there its sngle no wind around, a double wind around once, and a treble wind around twice. I know both terms and say both as i have viewers from all around the world. Austraila has the same uk terms too
See thats whats confusing me. A double means 2 so why wouldnt u wrap the hook to make a double crochet. U do 2steps to make a double. When doing a treble u wrap the yarn 2 times to make a treble around the hook and a triple treble u wrap the yarn 3 times to make the stitch. I just wish it was a universal so all the countries would follow only one way of making the stitches, then u wouldnt have to change the way u crochet, hope that makes sense, and i havent hurt your feelings!
@@mjperfume1523 Once you view some other video clips where they use the American terminology and then you get used to it as you make items of choice, then you will no longer find it confusing to watch UK version of crochet cos your head has integrated with the USA terminology. I'm in NZ and personally prefer the American terminology. (And I happily discard the UK version. Which is incredibly confusing to my brain, do it's easier to ignore it...)😉 Bag O day Crochet is a fabulous crochet channel using the American terminology & with hundreds of patterns to choose from. Lovely.. Really want to make one.. What age is it for?
i am trying to do this pattern and on the second row i always end up with 80 stitches instead of 82, I cant figure out where I am going wrong
just add an extra 2 it would be easier, (the first chain in the foundation takes away stitches, some people like myself just miscount i would just add extra 2 at the beginning see if that works out for you.

How old this dress is for??
Hello, Newborn
I Love this pattern , but i would like to know the size. i have a newborn and an 18-24 month old thanks for the beautiful pattern
Hi I would also like to know to do for bigger size
Hi Alison I’ve just started crochet and finding its so hard to get the proper tension.I haven’t got the right way of holding yarn
Hold it so its comfortable thats what I do.
Beautiful work! What kind of yarn are you using in this video? It looks very silky.
Carron simply soft yarn.
Can you tell me the length of the dress?
I can't remember but you can do it any length you want to. It was intended for a long christening gown then my friend's daughter asked for it to be shorter like this.
How many grams wool to make this dress?
200g will be plenty
I like it...very nice..thanks
Thank you xx
