In Auckland (NZ) I worked in a building with talking elevonic 401s with this exact voice for 10 years, brings back lots of memories. Other phrases are "do not be alarmed, we are experiencing minor technical difficulties", "this elevator is needed for an emergency", "this elevator is full, please exit and take the next available elevator"..

The Otis' in the building my mom used to work in had that voice as well. Being that the building is in a college campus, before my mom relocated her office only one of the three elevators still had a working grandma voice. It must've been annoying for whoever vandalized them.
Happy belated Thanksgiving! I find it interesting that a mod is being done which will be a step backwards as far as ADA... they won't talk anymore. Also, they seem to run just fine and don't look worn out at all. They must need to spend a bunch of money for tax purposes or something. I wish I had that problem...
Lovely, I hate when that happens. Why would you replace talking elevators with ones that don't talk? Also, I will never understand why hotels an other businesses have the ability to turn off the voice. It's a useful accessibility feature.
Floridian Elevators The elevator code creators of Florida are total dumbasses, NYC is starting to go the same route where they replace all the awesome original old elevators (the Otis elevators are the best old elevators in NYC due to them being clunky / smooth at the same time) with PEACE OH KRAHP Generics and it pisses me THO. For example, NYC had a Generic company replace both 1940s black button Otis elevators in my aunt's flats in the 2010s and I got to film them back in March this year. Of course, otis did an awesome job with the original elevators, I'm bashing the Florida codes this time... It's not Otis's fault for having to mod these. EFFING FLORIDA CODES MAKE ME WUNNA DEYH
***** I don't think so. Otis almost never uses Innovation or Third Party fixtures. They have used GAL and MAD, But other than that they normally don't use third party fixtures. I only know of 1 Otis with CRINGEOVATION
The new buttons are Innovation Prestige. They're basically just an Otis knockoff.
