please make a video about transform equations from one cordenate system to another (flow of fluids or heat transfer for example) i just memorize that but i dont understand how it works especially in a 3D, you are that guy with that brain that can explain things like these, your videos help me a lot to understand a lot of things that books leave on words and abstract concepts, regards from Mexico and have a great day
Your explanations are really awesome, they really help me in understanding very typical easily. I don't need to imagine the topic, you animate it ... Thank you.
Thank you, sincerely. True educators give their knowledge for free, and very few can make the topics so intuitive and understandable. A student, to a teacher.
You deserve a noble prize for these videos! I studied many of these subjects in high school and undergad many years ago, but for the first time I can truly understand them.
Please make a video on string theory. That is about the only thing you yet don't have a video on. It would be great. Also, string theory is such a thing which has a lot of potential to be explained by animation. Things like Kaluza-Klein concepts, higher dimensions, M-theory etc... Pls make videos on string theory. It would be most helpful to many people. You have the potential of explaining the hardest topics with absurd ease. You deserve something more but as of now, I think you are the only one who can help us all by working on string theory. Thanks a lot, professor and we are grateful to you for your work.
I got to know that you were a a professor , thank you so much professor Eugene Khutoryansky .. Your vidoes are the best and I am a kid so I like your video and it helped me understand about the Optics, lenses, and optical illusions created by the refraction of light .. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH professor ..
I am convinced you have the best science channel on youtube. Would be EXTREMELY interested in learning how you anaimate your videos. As always outstanding content :)
Truly appreciate the time that goes into making these wonderful videos. They are the best videos for understanding physics in a way that is enjoyable to watch. Elegantly animated with clear knowledgable narration. Thank you so much.
So, there is no such thing as an EM field? Could you make a video explaining that last bit about the exchanging of photons? That's, literally, the first I've heard about it, maybe I'm behind.
Quantum electrodynamics is the theory that explains the interaction of photons with electrons, and it is on my list of topics for future videos. Thanks.
Was about to comment about this exact thing! Never heard anything like that before. If I didn't know how much Mr. Khutoryansky knows about physics I might have wrote it off as hogwash. Have you had any luck determining what he was talking about?
when I heard that part of the video I paused, pondered, then rewound to do a double take because I wasn't sure if I completely understood what I was hearing. but I indeed heard you correctly the first time, and needed a few more passes to wrap my head around the severity of the statement
Thank you so much Eugene for all of the amazing videos you make. Your dedication to making Physics videos is quite amazing. You make everything so much easier to understand and visualize. Thank you so much :) I hope you never stop making these vids. Lots of love and respect for you from Australia. Thanks again!!!!
Your videos are awesome! Last year i learnt a lot of physics from your channel, especially electricity and magnetism, they helped me to really understand what was going on. Your teaching skills and your devotion to always keep making this animations (which im sure must be hard) are impressive, Feynman would be proud of you as a teacher xD. Also, last year i won a bronze medal in my county's national physics olympiad, which was kind of a dream of mine, one that i don't think would come true if it wasn't for your videos, so i just figured i should thank you for that as well!
great video @physics Videos by Eugene khutoryansky .Loved it! your voice is also so soothing and so wonderful. I am your greatest fan.I am watching all your videos. Thanks god I found such a wonderful channel to learn.
I would like to see how e.m. waves are produced exactly, every detail of it. All we learn are varying electric fields are created which then create magnetic fields and mutually induce each other. And your videos give exactly how these waves look. So how do you start making an em wave? Perhaps a video on antennas and telecommunication.
aditya sai Think of the EM field as a number of strings extending away from a charged particle. When you jiggle the particle (ie, when you accelerate it) you create ripples that travel along the strings. Those ripples are light. So any time you have charged particles vibrating or accelerating in some way, EM waves will be produced from them. I think Eugene already has a video on this actually.
Hats of for you sir . The most beautiful line was that photons can pass through each other and if all photons are present at the same location they altogether appear white. This is what I saw in my dream of photoelectric effect and this is 100% satisfactory video. I hope that the video of photoelectric effect will also be awesome and more fabulous than I have wished thanks sir Eugene . So beautifully explained the concept of lenses and refraction of light. One of my questions is about light speed paradox which I have also sent you via email. This paradox is about gravitational redshift that a person standing in space in such a way that his smallest drawn projection on the path of ligth is always prependicular to that path , then if two yellow photons escaping a gravitational field become red with the passage of time then should the distance between them increase or the distance between them remains same ? I mean to say that the increase in wavelength should correspond to a change in distance (change in velocity) thereby violating Einstein theory of relativity. The only possible way this theory is not violated is that the color only appear red with respect to observers standing in the path of light as if it has never changed while the observers standing outside the path of light with only feel the time slowed down . Sir help me please and please correct me. If you somehow can't manage to explain verbally with 100% clarity then please make a video on this case and add it in your video on gravitational redshift . I will be very thankful to you. The day you upload any of your video is the most beautiful day of the month.
The photons are not being absorbed and reemitted by the materials atoms. If this were the case the photon would be released in a random direction and at a random time. Sixty Symbols has a great video on why light slows down in certain materials. Sorry if I'm being overly picky. Love the vids.
I don't yet have videos on string theory, but as you know, I already have many videos discussing General Relativity. Though, my plan is to make additional videos in the future which go into much greater detail. Thanks.
Starting to think these videos are more to massage your animated physics skills ego. Great stuff, how you make such mathematically correct videos is a mystery to me.
When extending lines to show the point of converge, have you tried using dashed lines? I've seen steel construction drawings use dashing to distinguish extended lines, and the effect was pretty good overall. I'm not sure if it will help in the case of your videos, because your use of an animated transition already shows the difference well enough. Even so, dashing (or some other visible change) may help clarify the difference between actual paths taken by the photon and apparent paths created by straight extensions. Best wishes always! I very much appreciate these excellent videos.
Thank you very much for publishing this very iinstructive and enlightening series on maths and physics... May you allow someone to use them in schools?
i have been watching your videos since i was in highachool. i'm in my second year in college and your content is actually helping me in some of my classes. i watched all your videos and i still don't know a lot about you or the narrator and i would like to ask you some questions about you and the narrator 1-what was your job before youtube or do you have a second job Besides youtube? ( i would assume physics professors ) 2- how old are you guys? 3- does the narrator own a personal youtube channel? 4- would you ever make a face revel? (you have a huge number of subscribers and they want to know more about you ) 5- where are you from guys? i would love to get some answers from you and the narrator. keep up on making these amazing videos (:
I can send this information through a private message. I prefer not to post personal information publically on my TH-cam account. I am glad to hear that my videos have been helpful. Thanks.
Physics Videos by Eugene Khutoryansky as you wish. my email is malm7arb@gmail.com i am sorry if i bothered you with these questions. famous youtube channels usually like to share few things with their subscribers. its ok if you don't want to answer them.
Your material and research is always wonderful and the animations great. I would love to watch one explanation on Transistor Amplifier, Your Transistor switch video is quite good.
What about the ray of light that is just at critical angle so that it just grazes out glass slab , will it obey time symmetry. How will the light decide at what particular point it has to dive into the slab?
The absorption and re-emission view is a bit oversimplified, but there are also no videos on youtube which explain it perfectly. So maybe you could make a video about it.:D One question they fail to answer is why information carried by light slows down in a medium, so why does a pulse of light in an optical cable travels slower. If the EM wave interacts with electrons, but electrons have inertia so they will react slower, that would mean that the wavefront is still travelling at the speed of light and only the phase velocity got lower.
Have a recommendation. Could you change the graphics type? You use the template of graphic rooms Available in the video editors and 3D visual studios. Can you try mother style?
I love all your videos, and I think those videos are the best explanation videos I have watched on youtube. Can you make a video about EINSTEIN FIELD EQUATIONS, please? because I have some problems with the geometric mean in that equation, such as Christoffel symbols, Lie derivative, covariant derivative,... I hope you can make more videos in the future (I cannot wait for 1 month) Thank you so much
I will be covering those topics in upcoming videos. The next video is going to be on visualizing tensors, followed by a video on Einstein's Field equations. Thanks.
Great video Eugene! This channel has taught me so much, but here I have a question: What is meant in 15:00 when it says that there are no electromagnetic forces, but only because of photon exchange between charged particles. Do u have a video where this is explained more? Thanks
There are electromagnetic forces, it is just that we now believe that electric and magnetic fields do not exist, and that these forces are instead caused by the interaction of photons with matter. Quantum Electrodynamics explains how photons interact with electrons, and I plan on making a video on this topic.
"It was once believed that light is a wave of oscillating and magnetic fields and that light slows down in certain materials because of the interaction of the electromagnetic waves with the charged particles inside the material. We now believe that electric and magnetic fields do not exist" This really shocked me. Electric and magnetic fields aren't real? Please someone explain? My understanding is that a field is a space where a property can be measured at any point within that space, and that property could be a scalar, a vector or in general a tensor quantity. If this is true, then a field exists. Edit: I have just seen your response to Jeffrey Zom that the answer lies in QED. I patiently look forward to seeing something on this.
Thanks a lot for making concepts understandable through this video. In this video at time 2 min 20 sec there is mentioning of left side I right side of wave. Generally we have CREST and TROUGH for wave but what does this left and right side of wave mean?
14:57 _“We now believe that electric and magnetic fields do not actually exist”_ - could you give some references about this? I can’t really find anything about this.
Thank you for yet another great video! Though Kira mentioning at the end of the video that electric and magnetic fields don't really exist makes me kind of baffled, since I've been learning to calculate those fields using Maxwell's laws the whole spring now, and will continue that after summer break on a big course focusing solely on electromagnetism.
I also mentioned this fact at the end of my video on Maxwell's Laws of Electromagnetism. Quantum electrodynamics is the theory that explains the interaction of photons with electrons, and it "replaces" Maxwell's Laws in the same way that General Relativity "replaces" Newtonian laws of motion. Though, we still use Newton's Laws and Maxwell's laws because they still give very close answers for many situations, and their equations are much simpler than performing calculations with Quantum Electrodynamics or General Relativity.
Ah yes, so Maxwell's laws are an approximation of reality in similar way that Newton's laws of motion are. Have you maybe considered making a video some day explaining how we have noticed that Newtons's and Maxwell's laws are "wrong", and how GR and QED give differing predictions compared to their predecessors?
Can i just correct a thing at 10:08 real quick? Pink and Purple are not wavelenghts of light, and should not appear in that animation, pink is white light minus the green, purple is a mixture of blue and red, the violet at the end of a prism rainbow is just a deep blue
Physics Videos by Eugene Khutoryansky To me it shows specifically from top to bottom: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Light purple, and finally pink, if i knew a way to show a screenshot i would show it, in another video about waves (one were light is shown as cars intead of people) there is a sequence of ROYGCB and purple, it seems to be a common thing for the animations that involve light separating to have purple in the place for violet
If you send a single photon at an angle through a material, then there is no difference in time between the 'left' and the 'right' side of the photon entering or exiting the material. Will the photon change direction or not? (I think yes) And if you send a beam of light, is the change proportional to the width of the beam? (I think no) I mean, isn't it more complex than suggested?
Even a single photon is described by a wave. The wave is spread out over space, and the wave changes direction when it enters or exits the material. The square of the amplitude of the wave gives the probability of where we will see the photon.
14:58 "we now believe that electric and magnetic fields do not actually exist". This is hard for me to grasp. In fact the whole "forces are caused by the exchange of particles" principle baffles me.
Can you do a video on how electric and magnetic field lines refract when entering and exiting materials with high electric permittivity or high magnetic permeability? Maybe add some equations too? Also, do you think it might be possible that free space may be filled with particles that absorb and re-emit light a small moment later and that light travels between these points infinitely fast? This could explain why light moves the speed it does in a manner similar to why it slows down in materials.
To see subtitles in other languages: Click on the gear symbol under the video, then click on "subtitles." Then select the language (You may need to scroll up and down to see all the languages available).
--To change subtitle appearance: Scroll to the top of the language selection window and click "options." In the options window you can, for example, choose a different font color and background color, and set the "background opacity" to 100% to help make the subtitles more readable.
--To turn the subtitles "on" or "off" altogether: Click the "CC" button under the video.
--If you believe that the translation in the subtitles can be improved, please send me an email.
Eugene, what is the beautiful song that plays right at the beginning? Thanks for all your efforts!
All the music in this video is from the free TH-cam audio library, and the names of the songs are the following.
Sicilian_Breeze
Wigs
Double_Helix
please don't ever stop making these videos
Don't worry. Many more videos are on their way. Thanks.
Im so glad you're making many more videos
Please prove that a beam of light contains particles called ‘photons’. That’s something that has never been proven, and it really doesn’t make sense.
do you know about the photoelectric effect?
If you like this video, you can help more people find it in their TH-cam search engine by clicking the like button, and writing a comment. Thanks.
Can you please consider adding subtitles back again? Thank you :D

Yeah, I watch these videos and others on a topic and it just makes learning math and solving textbook problems much easier.
If you don't imagine then Your imagination become bullshit and which logic too So Imagine yoursefl
Can you make a "making of" video some time. I would be very interested to just see your thought process and pick your brain over some of these ideas.

I enjoy these as supplementary material.
Thanks.
Animazing and this clear understanding....this is heaven
Glad you liked my video. Thanks.
Water-cube lensing is a great way to explain gravitational lensing.
I didn't know just adding a comment helps in in YT searches. Here's a comment to help. Keep up the good work.
Thanks.
Awesome videos, thanks. Could you please tell what software you use for these videos?
I make my 3D animations with "Poser." Thanks.
14:57 _“We now believe that electric and magnetic fields do not actually exist”_ - could you give some references about this? I can’t really find anything about this.
This is covered by Quantum Electrodynamics.
brother,, keep going on.......
best explanations,, ever
Thanks for the compliment. More videos are on their way.

please make a video on the working of a transformer....
I already have a video on transformers at the following link.

thanks, it helped me
THE BEST CHANEL IN TH-cam)))))
Thanks for the compliment.
Is it necessary that atom emitted light in any given direction ?
Can you please make a video about reflection of light from the mirrors and Feynman diagrams? Thanks for creating such awesome videos by the way:)
Those are on my list of topics for future videos. Thanks.
Can i just correct a thing at 10:08 real quick?
Pink and Purple are not wavelenghts of light, and should not appear in that animation, pink is white light minus the green, purple is a mixture of blue and red, the violet at the end of a prism rainbow is just a deep blue
Pink and purple were not in the animation. At least they were not intended to be, even if it may have appeared that way on your monitor.
Physics Videos by Eugene Khutoryansky To me it shows specifically from top to bottom: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Light purple, and finally pink, if i knew a way to show a screenshot i would show it, in another video about waves (one were light is shown as cars intead of people) there is a sequence of ROYGCB and purple, it seems to be a common thing for the animations that involve light separating to have purple in the place for violet
what is your 3d animation application ? I just love it
I make my 3D animations with "Poser." Thanks.
What programs did you use?! Woah.
I enjoy these gems; they are like gummie-bears for the mind. Thank you
Thanks.
If you send a single photon at an angle through a material, then there is no difference in time between the 'left' and the 'right' side of the photon entering or exiting the material. Will the photon change direction or not? (I think yes)
And if you send a beam of light, is the change proportional to the width of the beam? (I think no)
I mean, isn't it more complex than suggested?
Even a single photon is described by a wave. The wave is spread out over space, and the wave changes direction when it enters or exits the material. The square of the amplitude of the wave gives the probability of where we will see the photon.
why total internal reflection only works when light goes from denser to less dense medium though?
14:58 "we now believe that electric and magnetic fields do not actually exist". This is hard for me to grasp. In fact the whole "forces are caused by the exchange of particles" principle baffles me.
Can you do a video on how electric and magnetic field lines refract when entering and exiting materials with high electric permittivity or high magnetic permeability? Maybe add some equations too? Also, do you think it might be possible that free space may be filled with particles that absorb and re-emit light a small moment later and that light travels between these points infinitely fast? This could explain why light moves the speed it does in a manner similar to why it slows down in materials.
wait electromagnetism does not exist but only exist the interaction of charged particles with photons
The simple vocabulary and animations make these videos more effective than any other educational resource on youtube. Thank you.
Thanks for that really great compliment.
