Nice video, i like your work, i apreciate if you can tell me about the humidity content of the wood you are turning. Its looks like non seasoned but not too much wet, i'm right? Thanks.
Right now I've got some 20% moisture wood I'm turning. I'll take freshly cut and stick it on the lathe. Some species work fine, others you need to let mellow a little before you can get a good finish on them.
Mesmerising! It’s a beautiful cup!
Awesome video! The pole lathe is an advantage for turning cups with a handle. Awesome!
Tip of the hat to an old school master, nicely done sir 👍
very nice indeed ! ive been considering trying both of those operations for a long time you've offered me some inspiration
Something you could never do on a powered lathe. Nice work!!
Beautiful work. I look forward to seeing more.👏❤️
Hats off to you Sir.
Looking good!

@@thomasluke thanks for your answer, have a good day!
Wow I'm impaired to try this , need to make or buy the right tools first
Amazing work. How long did this take ?
Takes about 2 hours to go from log to mug
@@SylvaSpoonvideos takes a lot of skill to do this in 2hr!
Strange to see a bowl hook used like a spindle gouge. Must be a mug rhing.
Yeah, my tool rest isn't set up for gouges. That would probably be a better way of turning the outside.
Hello Sylva!
Do you make them for sell ?
I used to, but haven't for a while. If you're interested Woodspirit Handcraft makes similar mugs (Jarrod taught me how to make these!).
@@SylvaSpoonvideos Hello Sylva!
I’ll try searching for the wood spirit one !
Thanks for the reply , cheers from Japan !
