    I was just reading about this somewhere totally unrelated - John Van Epp. He defines that other element needed in people (besides technical skill as "a conscience." He very clearly points to that as a core around which competance and other characteristics are built.

    Yes, I agree with the vision - and so, perhaps, I should leave it there. If i dare to elaborate, i think there's a confusion present between the past as an example of distributism successfully functioning _in the past,_ and a distributist desire to _return_ to the past. In practice, we can look to examples such as Mondragon as real world distributism in action, and see that it is less like the individual shopkeepers depicted in the video.
