Would love to hear more about the Basque region of Spain including San Sebastian and Bilbao, particularly cost of living, housing options and public transportation. I lived in Barcelona and Valencia briefly but never made it up to this area and am wondering how it compares to other regions.

San sebastian is gorgeous, but the most expensive in Spain. Bilbao comes near in cost. Cantabria (santander) is very beautifull and waaaaay cheaper, its one hour from Bilbao

San Sebastián. Best food in the world. Expensive!Rains a lot. Basques are not as open as other Spaniards. More reserved.

For the self-sufficiency visa do they count money in the bank for that? Or does it have to be an actual monthly income?

I believe there is a naval base in Rota that the U.S. Navy uses. I am retired from the U.S. military and I will have access to the base to use the facilities.

Hello, Thank you for your time spent putting this great video together. I have been searching for about a month and have watched many videos but this one by far was the most informative. I am interested in the Basque region of Spain in particular Girona. I will be visiting in October and perhaps moving soon. I you have a chance I would love to hear what you have on the region and again on the city of Girona specifically. From McAllen Texas Thank you.

You haven't had tapas, until you've had pintxos in San Sebastián... BTW "lean meats" is a myth when it comes to thinking that fat is bad for you, fat is NOT bad for you, SUGAR IS BAD FOR YOU. Fat is good for you, in moderate amounts, both animal and vegetable.

Wow! What more could I want than move to a city filled with expats. Why? Please find another country other than Spain to peddle. You shouldn't be moving to Spain if you know nothing about the country or haven't made any effort to learn Spanish. I just finished 90 days in Spain and only had two interchanges with Americans. Nobody guessed my brother and I are Americans. To say that most people aren't familar with Valencia probably signifies is that they're not coming to Spain for the right reasons.
You could start by using the right names for Spanish cities. Is it difficult to call Sevilla by its proper name? Please don't Californicate Spain. Try to teach people the Spanish names, por ejemplo it's not Catalonia, it's Cataluña. And if you are going to tout Barçelona, you might mention the present political turmoil going on between España and Cataluña.
There are so many great places to live in Spain besides Barçelona. The lisi is long and diverse: Zaragoza, Granada, Cordoba, Salamanca, Burgos, Oviedo, Vigo and many, many more. For me I prefer Bilboa and San Sebastian. Santander is a great town so please don't steer clueless expats there.
Recommend that a person comes first to Spain and tour the whole country before even thinking about moving to Spain. Tell them just outside madrid and Barcelona there is a country called España.

Yes, I could certainly guess that you are American, because you are so damned condescending. I am retiring to Spain after being overseas with the US military. I appreciated what she said, and much of it matched what I heard from others. Try to pass on information without being so nasty. You obviously know something about the country, so just present the information without denigrating her. If you can't do that, don't even bother to chime in. Have some online manners. You're not a child.

American change names of cities, companies, ect into an American version. It’s their mentality to have no respect for other countries and languages.

Spain is so diverse and culturally different. Touring different areas will be an eye opener. like for example, official languages, go and try to guess how many and what are they.
