I visited Hida Takayama in March 2018. I went to Takayama to see an historic town, untouched by the war and by earthquake. Throughout the Tokugawa shogunate, Takayama was under the control of the shogun because the highly skilled Takayama carpenters were an asset. This video brings good memories. I am amazed that this video was recorded with no people on the streets!

Until more than 30 years ago, during the May holidays, I used to stay at a hot spring hotel in Otaki Village, enjoy skiing at Mount Ontake, and then visit Hida Takayama. I have wonderful memories of staying at a hot spring hotel and drinking a lot of local sake with sukiyaki of Hida beef, which had just been branded at that time. This town was a very relaxing place for me after a busy life in the city. I'll say it again. Thank you for reminding me.

Takayama is so peaceful. I love the traditional wooden architecture of all the buildings. I feel very calm floating down the narrow streets with you :) The Miyagawa River brings a balance of nature to the city and I enjoyed to see it flowing. You look up at a few Torii Gates, I was impressed at their size but also by your smooth filming. I enjoy the road with lush green nature and the Enakogawa River on one side and lovely homes on the other. The Hida Folk Village was my favorite, deep in nature. I feel like I was transported to a fantasy land full of magical energy. Thank you for allowing me to feel so moved once again by your amazing work. I truly appreciate you and the unique places in Japan you present to us in such a beautiful way. 🙏🇯🇵⛩❤️🌳👍

Clean streets, clean river with fish, silence, tranquility...💖💛 I left my country of origin due to the noise of the bombs and machine guns of a revolt there was, I came to live in Brazil that has no wars......but there is a lot of noise, people who do not respect the silence of others, bad people educated...... One day I will go to Japan knowing silent landscapes ......
I've visited Takayama during my trip in 2018 and it was just amazing.. The calmness just makes u feel like time has stopped, i will definitely wanna visit this place again..
I went there in the winter of 2003 - Takayama was beautiful in the snow (though cold!). The Hida Folk Village was open at night so visitors could see the various buildings lit up.

W O W! You've done it again. The perfect union of moving images and music. Your video is a love song to a passing world - essentially romantic and dream-like. I realized that I had walked along the Miyagawa and visited many of the shops (4:40 - 5:20) during my visit in 2019. At 7:50 the playground! I want to drop everything and go play even for just five minutes. I loved the Hida Folk Village. I got to ring the bell! After walking around, I found the hand drawn fire-fighting equipment they keep just in case. I am so glad they were able to save these beautiful old farm houses and barns from being submerged when they built the hydroelectric dam. Thank you for this wonderful return visit.

I've been to Hida Takayama twice and it's my favorite small city in Japan. I want to go again for a third time. I had a catch in my throat and heart when I saw your video.
I've not travelled much but have been to Japan for 4 weeks as a backpacker tourist. Takayama is probably my fondest memory from that trip 21 years ago. I clearly remember walking along the first street you show, and my favourite photo from that trip from maybe 300 photos is from almost the same spot as the view across the lake in Hida Folk Village. Makes me want to go back. I loved visiting Japan. Great video and editing. Thank you.
💙💙💙You are always amazing in your vid delivery, my favourite is Walking Around Miyagawa River & Enakogawa River mainly because I absolutely love water, my family have been bought up around rivers and sea, my father taught us to dive for sea food, catch eels in the rivers lots of family activities around water. Thank you for always watching my video. I feel better just by imagining New Zealand's great landscape. I would like to see eels and sweetfish swimming in the river nearby. When I eat eel in Japan, it's expensive, so I can't eat much these days. I want to go there in the near future😊

When my children were young I would go to catch eel at least once every second month, any type of seafood [fish [ika], crayfish [koura], abalone [paua], urchins [kina] would be gathered whenever we were hungry for it but because I live on my own now I don't bother anymore. Maybe that's being called lazy, after all I could just catch it and give it away.

江戸時代の街並みが良く残っている街としては、
飛騨高山と倉敷が双璧ですね。
倉敷が瀬戸内海の明るく太陽の光が降り注ぐイメージに対して、
飛騨高山は、木曽山脈の麓で山と共に厳しい冬を乗りこえるイメージがして
対極的な美しさを醸し出しているのも見どころの一つですね。

昔から、何度も京都から、夜中に車で出発し、夏の朝5時ぐらいに高山の城跡や、街並みを巡り、そのあと、平湯の「神の湯」に入り、乗鞍の山小屋に行くのが好きです。昔は乗鞍山頂付近まで車で行けましたが…城跡や街並みの美しさが大好きです。しばらく行けてなかったので、ありがとうございます！！

2:44 に映っている藍花という喫茶店でわらび餅プリンを食べたのですが、すごい美味しかったです。
夫婦と、そのご家族で経営している様で、カウンターに座った自分にも優しくコミュニケーションを図ってくれました笑
飛騨の小京都と言われるだけあって京都の雰囲気に似てますね^^ そして、川べりにそびえ立つ櫻山八幡宮の鳥居は圧巻ですね。あまり見た事のない光景なのでただただ見入ってしまいました。後半は飛騨らしい趣きのある風景に変わっていって実に興味深い動画でした^^

相変わらず穏やかで美しい街並み。いつもなら散策の方々がたくさんいらっしゃるところですよね。以前宿泊したお宿は玄関を入ってすぐのところに蔵の重厚な扉があり、驚きまたおおいに楽しみました。
鯉も水が清いと大きくなるのでしょうか？迫力のある大きさですね。奥へ分け入れば自然に抱かれ心が安らぎますね。
やはり飛騨高山は日本の誇る美しい街です。

I've been to Hida Takayama twice and it's my favorite small city in Japan. I want to go again for a third time. I had a catch in my throat and heart when I saw your video.
I've not travelled much but have been to Japan for 4 weeks as a backpacker tourist. Takayama is probably my fondest memory from that trip 21 years ago. I clearly remember walking along the first street you show, and my favourite photo from that trip from maybe 300 photos is from almost the same spot as the view across the lake in Hida Folk Village. Makes me want to go back. I loved visiting Japan. Great video and editing. Thank you.

💙💙💙You are always amazing in your vid delivery, my favourite is Walking Around Miyagawa River & Enakogawa River mainly because I absolutely love water, my family have been bought up around rivers and sea, my father taught us to dive for sea food, catch eels in the rivers lots of family activities around water. Thank you so much for your valuable and precious time to walk around the places we all get to see simply wonderful, then you're adding the beautiful music that enhances what we see. Thank you for always watching my video. I feel better just by imagining New Zealand's great landscape. I would like to see eels and sweetfish swimming in the river nearby. When I eat eel in Japan, it's expensive, so I can't eat much these days. I want to go there in the near future😊
@@annafilmproduction1143 wow you have to buy eel, do you not go to the river to catch it? When my children were young I would go to catch eel at least once every second month, any type of seafood [fish [ika], crayfish [koura], abalone [paua], urchins [kina] would be gathered whenever we were hungry for it but because I live on my own now I don't bother anymore. Maybe that's being called lazy, after all I could just catch it and give it away.

Alot of places in Japan are rather clean. The US could learn a thing or 2 in that department.
