You guys should do another series with all 3 guys building ARs with a budget of $1100-1300. With a $400-$600 Optic. Alot of people are in that range and it would help people see where to put there money and where they can maybe save.

I was able to get my PSA for shy of $600, trick I found is buy pre-built upper and lower separately, saved me $125. Accurate, reliable, and 100% American made, even the charging handle 😋

    • @matthewbeaver5026

You only pay the 11% firearm tax on the lower.
If you go as far as a stripped lower saves even more. Granted ya gotta beable to put it together. Though for a lower it's pretty simple.

My first AR was a Stag 15T-L, I loved that rifle (until I had to sell it to pay some bills a few years ago 😢) !! But I have Liberty Suppressors building me a 300blk integrally suppressed upper, on a Stag Arms stripped left handed upper receiver!! I have to say, I am massively preferential towards the Magpul MS4 sling. I love how fast they are to adjust, take 2 QD swivels (for two point QD slings) and can convert instantly to a single point sling. They aren't cheap (cost is usually around 60-90 dollars depending on the vendor) but they are extremely comfortable and practical. I've only got 2 of them right now but I've had probably 20 through the years.

I always tell people if you can only have one, buy an off the shelf gun. Not only will the QC be solid (assuming its a good manufacturer) but you get a good warranty AND you have a solid mark for resale if you ever decide to get rid of it. Almost no shops or even private buyers will touch "custom builds".

After I bought my first A.R. 15 which was a DPMS/panther arms oracle. I purchased it for $500. I upgraded it over the course of the year to a higher in standard A.R. 15. And I spent roughly another $600 on the rifle. After that I started building my own. Which for the same $600-$700 in purchasing and upgrading I now had a high end rifle build without having to pay the $2000 for the high-end rifle. So the budget build or they will say mid range budget build; my bills are just as good as the high end $2000 plus rifles. The things that I don’t skimp on in the build is the barrel the bolt carrier group and the trigger. The other items can be well negotiable lol

I loved this video so much I built the high end AR with a few mods. First I went with the Vseven upper and handguard. Then instead of B-5 systems grip or stock. I went with Magpul furniture k-2 grip, ACS stock, MBus sights, VFG, and the new polymer dust cover. Since I went with a different handguard I had to change the gas block from JP to an SLR adjustable gas block. Instead of the war comp I put a Silencer Co brake on it to host my saker 5.56 suppressor. I also put a vortex 1-6 LVPO scope on it. Let me know what everyone thinks.

Having the option to build the lower priced variant is more in line with what many people are doing these days. Stag Arms is a good, underrepresented on TH-cam, out of the box option. The expensive build is ridiculously expensive but I would build mine along the same lines of given the opportunity. I can't wait to see them come together and compete against each other.

The Magpul ACS stock is way better than the B5 imo. The B5 rattles and doesn't lock, and you have to remove the stock to get to the battery tubes. I really don't understand the hype for the B5 SOPMOD.

High End is more expensive than my 04 Toyota Highlander lol. As a lefty, I have been building a stag arms left had eject upper for a while now, getting part after part when I can afford it. I am going to run it on my aero M4E1 lower with a 3.5 lb timney trigger, strike industries ambi mag release, and I plan on getting a JP silent capture buffer for it eventually. For triggers, I think I will just always go for Timney as they make amazing triggers for a great deal, and even include a tootsie pop too!

That's gives people an idea of what you can get for the budget you have.
I would recommend building one over buying one simply because you need to understand your weapon inside and out and how it works. By the way, do I sense a giveaway here?

I like the series, great idea. And also have been meaning to comment on your channel since it has started, I LOVE the business model you are employing on your channel. The business model of giving stuff away is fantastic. I am not sure if you took any inspiration from Mr. Beast (completely not gun related), but in my opinion, he has done the 'giving stuff away' business model for a TH-cam channel the best. It's a win-win for everyone, love it.

PSA lower blem 119.99 + PSA blem upper 299.99 = 419.98, push two pins and it shoots. Add Magpul BUIS for 49.99 and under $500 for a reliable functional AR.

My first AR was a PSA upper on an Anderson lower I built for $350. It did me well for a long time and I’ve since given it to my brother. My current is a side charging 450 bushmaster (I hunt a lot and wanted knock down power but loved the AR platform) the PSA upper was surprisingly good and for $350 for a whole gun I wasn’t going to complain. I did need a new gas block because it was over gassed and wasn’t adjustable but the barrel shot true and I’ve never had a malfunction out of the 2k rounds I put through it

For the proper AR, should've went with a Unbranded ambi lower for 80, BCM Mod 3 for 20, Dirty Bird ambi selector for 20, and Anderson LPK for 40 (Totaling 160). Should've also swapped the stock for Magpul SL-K for 25 bucks more, tge charging handle for the BCM Mod 4b for 30 bucks more, and Northrac P11 red dot for nearly 200 bucks cheaper or the Primary Arms SLx micro prism optic for 50 bucks less.

Summer of 2020 I built a prebuilt Anderson lower and Anderson upper, for a total of 540 plus 70 for optics
Now just the prebuilt upper is 499

Really looking forward to this series! Wish there would have been a bit of disclaimers of what your rules are. I've build some very solid ARs for less than a grand using PSA for less than even Alec's build, including optic and a decent charging handle. All that includes I don't know much. I've only built like 5 ARs so far

A budget rifle can run just as reliable as a Gucci rifle if you build it correctly with quality parts. The price just goes up with comfortability 💯

i actually really love the $700 build and love the attitude with it. Charging handle from china but it works. Not really keen on supporting china instead of US made parts but some people want to save money on non essential parts to afford an optic or nice trigger.
