I know people are complaining about the location of the video because it portrays "poverty" in Africa but I feel that its all about true patriotism, loving Africa in the state that it is, and obviously pushing for a better Africa. Its not about showing the best of what Africa has, the cities, the nature, the hotels and resorts, its showing the real Africa and being proud of it never the less, because real people live there, and such places DO exist. Yes we are rising up and aiming for better living conditions, but it is what it is,no denying what the common man faces, and where the average man lives in some countries. I am proud never-the-less. #truepatriotism
So does South Africa and Namibia have slums like Ghana? Does Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Mauritius, Cape Verde? No, so not every African will be proud of this video.
Proud Angolan Please, don't tell me that countries you mentioned, don't have "favelas" every country has it, even your lovely Angola. I have been to Brazil and is even worst, even United States. Angola has a lot of problems, I had a lot of friends from Angola during my studies in Brazil. Fique tranquilo irmao e pare de criticar outros, Africa es mesma coisa!
Jamestown was the stage of the video and has it a special meaning to Ghana and Africa as whole. The place may not be as you wanted it to be but the award-winning producer knows why the place was chosen.
A lot of the comments I saw was about how the video did not represent "Africa rising". That they showed the "slums" and the "undeveloped" parts of Africa. Africans, let's remember to not define our development by western standards...big tall skyscrapers and buildings are not the definition of development. A bustling and vibrant city where life is present shows development and the video illustrated just that. Please watch it again without a westernized interpretation of development! You will see African business owners, African markets, happy playing children (important to development cause they are the future), roads, movements, hustle and bustle, peace, unity, etc. these are all example of development and progress! the problem with developing countries progress and development lie in the fact that we spend too much time trying to mimic western standards that we didn't spend time setting our own! You can never achieve a standard that wasn't created specifically for you...create your own! Basically I'm saying this video is awesome...stop being a critic on other ppl art!
Unfortunately behinde the scene the standards are already set its called capitalism wich makes great parts of culture also in eu all the same mainstream lookalike. Big company's rule the world.
Mi Casa,Diamond,Sark,Davido,Tiwa,Lola. Well appreciated!!! And for all those who are hating on this piece of work, understand You can't hate the roots of a tree and not hate the tree. You can't hate Africa and not hate yourself.I wonder if you are truely African!!
For those who don't know Swahili. Tanzania thanks nyerere baba(the father of Tanzanian nation) we a proud of our love and peace and also Mugabe conglaturation baba we are proud of our love and peace ...we are blessed by so many ...see many ,liver,lakes,mountains,parks...our Africa
Tiwa Savage, Sarkodie, Davido, MiCasa, Diamond and Lola Rae collaborated in a song to create Africa's biggest song, in partnership with with MultiChoice Africa supported by Channel O.
+MultiChoice AfricaRising: This is a beautiful beautiful song. But why did you not capture all the beauty in Africa? You sing about beautiful Africa and yet you do not really show the beauty. I know the slums are a part of Africa, and that they should be represented, but they are not all of it. I truly wish you had shown all sides of Africa, as much as possible. I still love the song. All the artists are simply amazing.
Just wish that the track, song was available on Apple iTunes, I cannot stop playing the video on TH-cam. Just think when you’re next by your bar of chocolate where does it come from you never know it might say Ghana on it the wrapper or packet.

I love the music, the dancing and even in the face of poverty, the people were able to enjoy the sound and the urge to move to same. There was not a thing wrong with the location - not every music video needs to be done among the wealthy!
I love how they shot the video in the places where the majority live. If anything, this video is telling every African that there is real WORK to be done on our beautiful land. Keep rising Africa!!

In this modern day world, we must no longer hide from the truth. We have to learn and accept that everywhere in the world has its problems however great and small. Nowhere is perfect. I just wish this song and music video was available on iTunes.
I have good memories from Africa, Central african Republic, Bangui, Bossangoa, Bria, and my lovely people in "Batangafo" Congo and Kenya, blessings from Colombia to all my african family, I wish to come back again, nice people, happy people, beautiful music, no matter violence, no matter religion, no matter color, only one world, one skin, one blood. I was living there for one year 2017-2018 and I will come back. Singuila Mingui!!!

Grace M tall buildings were built in Africa that doesn't symbolize it is western
Unfortunately behinde the scene the standards are already set its called capitalism wich makes great parts of culture also in eu all the same mainstream lookalike. Big company's rule the world.
well said Grace M. All we need is love, happiness and cherishing our precious culture😍
having a clean, decent place to live is western standards of development? I swear africa will never develop with such servile mindsets.
