- A playthrough of the first 40 minutes of Skystead Ranch. Skystead Ranch seems like it would be a cute game, but I feel like it needs some work. There are no character customization options, and I feel like that is important, especially for a game like this. I do like that there are initial quests, but after feeding Shelly, there are no more quests, and there is no story. I spent the rest of the video growing different plants and feeding them to the creatures. I wanted to unlock the bridge, but I could not figure out how to rebuild it. Also, the only thing that is available to build is fences. I later found out when playing on my own that you have to buy the upgrades and build items from the keeper. It would have been nice if the game pointed that out and had quests for rebuilding the bridge and other areas of the sky island. Furthermore, you can get a house in the game, but it literally does nothing and you cannot go inside it.
Lastly, there is no inventory system. Therefore, you have to carry items one by one. If you want to buy multiple items from the keeper, you have to buy them one at a time, carry the item back to the island, and then go back to the skyship. It would be great if there was a backpack that you could store items and access (there is a hidden inventory for wood and rocks you collect, but you cannot access it). Also, there is no indication of how many fruits and vegetables you get when buying or growing them. For example, when you buy or grow carrots, you get 2 carrots. However, you only get 1 red berry at a time.
At this point, I would recommend waiting for future updates before playing.
In Skystead Ranch, you transform a desolate sky island into a vibrant sanctuary where you build your garden, befriend quirky creatures, and build a home.

I am not fully sure what is going on with the game as I am not a big gamer but it looks fun! Love the music and the narration. Excellent work in a short period of time! 👏👏👏👏👍
The game is cute and I love the narrator! I just wish that there were more quests!

I was hoping there would be a big update today, but nope. The game is exactly the same with the quests ending after feeding Shelly. It does feel unfinished especially because it's a full release and not an early access game.
