    JVFIX, I praise you for being so kind in answering ALL questions posted. I, myself I'm having an issue with my 2008 Altima Hybrid. Yesterday, while driving home, I noticed the "Service Engine Soon" and both, HV battery and 12V battery lit up. When I got home I scanned the car and got a code P0AC4 which was to do with the Hybrid power train module. Do you have any suggestions as to where should I start checking. I appreciate your excellent work.

      if u read that code with a regular scanner is just telling u that u have a code stored in the hybrid module.

      @@JVFIXLLC Thanks for your answer. I have a ELM-327 Bluetooth scanner which I use with the Car Scanner Pro App, and my Android tablet. I'm not sure if this is what you call a "regular scanner". How do I read the code stored in the Hybrid module, please? Someone suggested that my hybrid battery inverter is about to give up, and I should replace it. What's your opinion? Thanks!!

    Interesting video, my son bought a 2009 Altima Hybrid with 130k miles. It works when it wants to. But when it does it only goes about 25mph then it slows down to a stop. We then have to stop and restart the car. Or put it into nurture and let it coast, and then it seems to want to go again. The HV battery is very low and never seams to charge (always on low). No check engine lights. We're in the Phoenix area. Do you know of anyone that might work on them here or do you have any suggestions for us?
    Thank you in advance

      you have a really interesting issue too, first thing i would do is get a scanner and with that you can check if the temperature of the battery pack is normal i have seen on electric cars that if the batteries overheat it limits the car speed and it stops the charge cause when is charging the batteries get hot just like a phone if it gets too hot it slows down and tries to almost turn off by itself so it doesn't damage the battery.

    • @JVFIXLLC

      that code means that you have codes stored in the hybrid powertrain module. you will need a scanner to access those deep codes. what is wrong with the car does it turn on or not at all.

    Hey JVfix, I have a 2007 hybrid Nissan Altima. Recently it was too hot here in SoCal and while driving I got service engine soon warning. Then the car stopped going into the Hybrid mode, though the hybrid battery is getting charged as normal. Also, the “Ready” Green light is also ON for hybrid but the car is only running on gas. Do you think it’s the inverter problem or something else. Do you know some can fix it for good price on SoCal. Thanks

    • @JVFIXLLC
      @JVFIXLLC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think it's an inverter problem because it wouldn't even let u start the car sounds more like if the battery pack got overheated. I had a similar issue with a Buick where the fan that cools down the battery when out. it's on my playlist under gmc cars but gmc has a really different system than nissan so symptoms could also be different. but it's a closer idea of what are u experiencing. maybe if you could scan the vehicle you could trace down the fault more quickly

    Good video bro. Hey I have a similar vehicle that I went to check out today. I'm having trouble diagnosing it. I have a snap on modis and I cannot communicate with the PCM however I can communicate with the other modules. It's a no crank no start. Hooked up charged battery supply because it was low, checked wiring diagram for starting. There's a brake switch on the bottom, and the other sensor for start up. I wanted to check to see if I'd get a signal to the starter motor but I was baffled and could not find it. I noticed that manual transmissions do have one but automatics do not? In my diagram it does not show that. Would you be able to guide me through a diagnostic?

    • @JVFIXLLC
      @JVFIXLLC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok if u can't communicate with the pcm that is the issue. Have u checked for the powers and the ground that goes to the ecu. And also if the grounds and powers are good it could be the ecu. I have seen many go bad because the ecu is in the hood next to the battery and it is exposed to water and dirt

      That my friend it is a very interesting question and I am gonna do a bit of research on that because usually when it stops recharging the main hybrid battery the module right away detects that and it prevents the cars from starting as a safety measure.

    • @JVFIXLLC
      @JVFIXLLC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since this a hybrid most of the cars now days have lots of computers to control different systems on your car. And the only way to find out what's is wrong is scanning the car.

    • @ahmedraheem5010
      @ahmedraheem5010 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What symptoms will i get if the hybrid battery is dead pls???

    • @JVFIXLLC
      @JVFIXLLC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ahmedraheem5010 if the car is not staring and the 12v battery is good, i might suspect that the issue could be the inverter (the inverter is basically like the charger for the main hybrid battery like the one shown on the video) that's what most fails on the cars because the internal cells of the inverter shorts inside and the ecu detects that and cuts the power to the hybrid battery to prevent damage. now if the case is not that the it could be the main hybrid battery.

    Hello JVFix... I've 2007 Altima Hybrid... car was idle for couple of months there 12V battery died. So replaced new Nissan 12V battery. I was able to start the car but VDC and Red triangle light came online. The fan over hybrid battery would run continuously. Dealer said replace Hybrid battery and gave $8k replacement estimate. So I took out hybrid battery, checked each cell and replaced couple of very weak cells which were not charging above 5000 milliamps.. Reassembled entire hybrid battery and installed it back in the car. After starting the car, ODI scanner reports P0AC4 and P0AFA codes. Cleared the codes few time but still same. Any suggestion would could be wrong and what I can do next?

    Hi. I have a 2009 Nissan Altima hybrid. I just bought it and was ripped off basically. But anyway, abs, brake light, vdc light came on and I thought maybe it was a sensor. I went to auto zone to have them scan it for codes. It ended up giving codes for the powertrain control module. No check engine light, not stalling but is running badly. Anyway, I'm guessing it needs to be replaced and that's such an expensive job at the dealer so I want to do it myself. No I'm not a mechanic lol, but I'm also not rich and can't afford to have the dealer fix it. So I don't have any other option. I'm worried because it's a hybrid though. I know I gotta unconnect the battery first regardless, but how do I do it safely? Also do you know where the modulle is located? I think it's in the engine compartment but I'm not sure because I can't find anything definitive and how do I get to it if it is in the engine compartment?

      jvfix Yes I went and bought a new battery charger. My other one was about 40 years old. So this new one tells me if the battery is good or not. So it came back as battery bad after charging all night.
