Really enjoying this Paddy, thank you chaps. Edit; What an absolute diamond Paul Smith is, no ego on that man, as honest, humble and decent as one can be. A true alpha male. Haven't watched boxing since the 90's, but I'll be damn sure to watch Paul's fights from here on in. Bless you Paul, wish you the very best in the future.

Paul doesn't get the credit he deserves. He paved the way for his brothers and really felt for him in the first Abraham fight he won it clearly imo its also understated what the smith family did for British boxing and its great to see how supportive he is of his brothers and sisters and he was by far the proudest man in Manchester arena last night💙 #TeamSmithBros

Paul was one of my favourite boxers in the 00's, very underestimated jab and he could have a proper scrap. He was unlucky in the Contender series if he had gone through he would have won. Good pod 👏👏

From the moment ufc 2 hit video shops like mine everyone, well all us lads knew what ufc was n knew who Royce Gracie was, all my fight conversations changed n from then on I was saying things like Royce could beat mike tyson lol who for our gen was the ultimate wrecking machine in our eyes till that point, ufc was known by all us lads from then on but chances to see it were few n far between till late 90s when dvds started being sold of ufc 3 4 5 etc then it became available more regular on telewest cable, events were every few months or something going off memory, just took a long time for the mainstream to acknowledge it, even bisping got practically no press when he started in ufc but to me it was big news n I was buzzing about it, ufc 2 blew our minds cos till that point we never even considered that there were other ways of fighting that could potentially beat the hardest punchers n kickers on the planet, great podcast by the way.

Paddy, and I'm saying this respectfully, please change your lifestyle and eliminate some of the people you allow around you. A champion's life doesn't include frequent visits for garbage food, and it doesn't involve an ego so large that the truth is disregarded. Don't listen to those who only smile in your face, clap you on the back, and tell you to live your life however you want. They're not only ignorant to the monumental effort it takes to grasp and retain greatness, but they also don't have your best interest at heart. A true friend and mentor will take you aside, grab your shoulders, look you dead in the eye, and with every ounce of love that exists inside of them will tell you to change how you're living and training or risk complete ruin. You've earned a life that so many would kill to have. Don't waste how much better it can become by ignoring bad martial habits and living an undisciplined lifestyle. All the best.
