Preparing for the NHL 2024 Draft: Analyzing Strong and Weak Teams

This is our third week in a six-week series of videos and newsletter to prepare you for the NHL 2024 draft. In this week's quick-hit video, we'll walk you through three different analyses to show the relative performance of NHL teams. The first is using Pivot tables to explore trends across seasons and trends at the team level. The second analysis is using a web-based tool called Data Wrapper to create an analysis to break teams out into quartiles using composite offensive, defensive and goaltending scores. And the final analysis will be using a K-Means algorithm to classify the data into three different groups, which we can use to identify the lowest-performing teams.
