At first I was like this guy doesn't know how to fly, he is gonna smack the ground! Then I remembered in VR your depth perception is as in real life so you can actually fly very close to objects as you can judge the distance realistically.
Before you dismiss this module, I'm going to use the Anothocopter as my main aircraft when venturing around the globe. As its a mix of Chinook helicopter and OV-22 Osprey, but with fighter jet speeds. To look at things over a large aera this bird has it all.
Fantastic to cover large regions like Nevada, Washington state, East cost, West cost, Australia and Caribbean.
For sightseeing, in VFR, it's just perfect.
It's a great feature, but there are some bugs that came with it. When you duplicate the control profile and configure it, it automatically goes back to the original profile whenever you start from the menu. Also, when in VR, you have no control of the on-screen displays such as the VFR map or any third party displays. You can select and deselect them on the toolbar, but you can't click on them or even move the windows. It could be just on my end, but that is what I have been experiencing. However the cockpit HUD does work when you turn it on in the assist menu which is helpful to see your speed and altitude.
Let's Hope Microsoft will give us an update soon.
The only things I know about 'Dune' are from the Iron Maiden song 'To Tame a Land' (I didn't see the first movie and haven't read the book). I don't blame Microsoft and Asobo for helping studios to promote their movies (I'm sure it's lucrative for both) but this is a bit too 'arcadey' for me - fun for a lot of people, I know, just not my kind of thing. (I enjoyed watching you having fun with it, though.)
Not for me. I’d prefer Asobo made updates to the sim rather than watering things down with gimmicks.

Feb 13 2024 what update did MSFS 2020 had me installed I Cant find anything about it.
Fun, but buggy for me. The 3,2,1,GO all remain on screen in VR, blocking my view. The same thing happened with Maverick.
Do you need the whole package or can the Ornithopter be DL'd separately?

This thing looks like so much fun to mess around with to me. Always like them in the old Dune games, and its such a unique design.
