What a great presentation of the differences, thank you very much. I just purchased a machine and was leaning towards the stainless reusable pod. I prefer the strongest, intense tasting coffee, so the other ones than the stainless would be my choice now thanks to you.

Little late...just now watched your video. This is the most comprehensive review of the various reusable options for the Vertuoline on TH-cam. Thank you so much for creating this excellent and informative video. Liked and subscribed.
Please allow me to add my 2 ¢: First...avoid the SS options. You clearly showed that they are very heavy compared to the Nespresso capsules and the motor, which spins the capsule at up to 4,000 rpm, isn't designed to spin that weight. So plain ole common sense tells me, excess weight = strain on motor = premature wear = shortened life.
Second...used capsules in the SAME size can have different bar codes depending on what Nespresso wanted to extract from the coffee in that capsule. The bar codes control 5 parameters: 1) Water volume, 2) water temperature, 3) capsule rotation speed, 4) flow rate, and 5) infusion time (time the water is in contact with the grounds). Hence, different used capsules in the same size can change the taste of the same coffee. I like strong coffee, and after trying 6 different used 7.77 oz capsules, I found one (bronze color with brown graphics) that gave me a noticeably stronger extraction from my Lavazza Gran Crema than the others.
Thanks again for the great video. Aloha!!

After reading some comments on this video, i decided to go with the re-sealing option. It works great. I buy the stickers for a very small price and i re-use my pods. I didn't wanna risk damaging my machine with the silicone or aluminum options.
So far the sticker re-sealing are working excellent!

I have been refilling pods for 5 years. The reusable silicon caps work way better than the foil caps because the just pop on and off. There is no worry about sealing them. They last for years. I am still using them after 3 years. The foil caps were just tedious putting them on and removing them compared to the silicon. isit the The Coffee Seal Store

I really respect this lady's honesty and integrity when comparing products.
Naturally it is going to be a personal taste issue as to which system is preferred, although I appreciate that didn’t "rubbish" any of them and only highlighted legitimate issues - but authentically stated the last two (including her own product) were similar and good.
Such integrity is rare, but enormously gratifying when demonstrated.
Consequently I would gladly purchase her products and support her business.

Going to add this, carefull with full metal capsules, as Vertuo line spins the capsule, adding more weight (full metal) might degrade motor quicker.

Great demo....We've been using the hard plastic lids on the capsules for about a year now. But we notice that after about 20-30 times of use, the capsules no longer work, and we have to start using a new capsule. Any idea why this happens, or why the machine all of a sudden doesn't seem to recognise the old capsules? Your thoughts! thanks

Good comparison, one of the many things I was looking for to help me decide what to get and if I should get a Nespresso maker at all. I do have some questions. I want this for making good bold regular sized (8-12 oz.) coffee, I had some once at a place that had a commercial Nespresso machine, and it was very tasty, not sure I even needed cream or sugar.
    1) How would it come out if you used regular medium ground coffee like maxwell house or foldgers in a refill pod?
    2) I see you have most models of the machines, are there pros & cons? and how could I narrow down my search?
    3) Reading reviews I see many complaints about refilling pods, they make a mess, they leak or spit out coffee grounds etc.. Is that a challenge you overcame or is that just something people may be doing wrong themselves?
    4) Many reviews say the machines break, stop working, leak, etc... Has any of this happened to you?

    • @sealpodreusablecapsule9234
      @sealpodreusablecapsule9234  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks Matt
1.It’s recommended to use fine to espresso ground coffee, medium ground will result in a waterier coffee.
2.The Vertuo machines produce similar result, we don’t see much of a difference, just pick one that suits your budget and style.
3.To be honest, filling your pods will take time and practice, to find the right grinding, the right filling amount, etc, but once you get good at it, it will be a piece of cake.
4.The metal pods sold in the market might have the risk to damage the machine, we would recommend using a good aluminum sticker lid with the vertuo pods itself, just make sure to buy the lids like Sealpod that are thick and big in size, other smaller size or thinner lids will result in leaking of ground coffee and lids breaking, which will also damage your machine.

@@sealpodreusablecapsule9234 Well, when you are showing all the benefits and problems with lids, which you did, it was far more than just the material. So, sitting through all that without know what the brands are was tedious and a waste of time, frankly. Why not just mention the name for each when you're doing it? That way I wouldn't have to write in and then sent you a separate email asking for what would have been easier to do at the time. Then, once you tell me the brands I then have to go back and watch the video again to match them up. Just not efficient. I am not going to put my email in here so EVERYONE has it. @@jaybeauvais4311 - I switched to a Super Automatic espresso machine. I highly recommend the Phillips 4300 or any of the cheaper models (3200, 2200, etc). You can use whole beans or ground coffee. The beans are better because everything tastes and smells fresh.
The only drawback to these machines is that the grinder gets gummed up if you use oily beans such as a dark roast or flavored coffee beans. It's a limitation of all superautomatic machines. But I found a solution! Spread the oily beans on a baking sheet and bake at 200f for 10min. If they're very oily, let the beans cool and repeat step 1. This baking method tends to evaporate most of the oils and dry the beans. The beans are slightly less fragrant but they still taste great.
