Maybe he needs to hear Venom, Freeze, Charmer, Easy...things he can sink his teeth into track-wise since he's a DJ and probably thinks more in the realm of what's good for radio 🤷♀️? If he's willing to check them out that'd be great. Hopefully you can find a way to show him what you see in SKZ and why they truly are amazing. I personally believe that anyone who gives SKZ a little bit of time, they'll discover something they vibe with. Then when they go back and listen to something that didn't necessarily grab them at first, upon second, third listen they'll be like...damn it sounds different now and I really like it. I have faith that SKZ can turn any non-believer into a believer if given the chance 😉😎 Lol. And as far as the "pretty boy" kpop vibe that he's kind of skeptical about being accepted in our western culture...it's already spreading here like wild fire and I believe it's going to continue to grow but I completely understand where he's coming from when he said that. Ah yes, the good ol misconception (In this case I would say it was more of a worry?) that being a "pretty" man somehow makes your music less useful/less marketable than that of the "traditional" idea of what a man looks like to an American audience. Well, I'm very happy to say it's turning out to be far less of an issue than most people thought it would. Obviously it does require that people realize that all Korean boy groups are indeed comprised of "pretty" men, as well as the fact that kpop is not by definition "pop music" but just Korean music that is popular. In other words, realize that you obviously can't write off an entire industry because it challenges the idea of what a man is in another part of the world. To be honest, I just can't wait for the world as a WHOLE to come to the conclusion that a "pretty" man is no less manly than any other, and that to believe that they are is incredibly toxic.) That said, I am incredibly proud of the reactors I have seen come out of the US and how accepting they have been. Besides, when you look at just how BIG Stray Kids are, including in the US, you realize that marketability isn't going to be an issue. Their last two promoted/sanctioned albums they had hit #1 on Billboard 200 albums chart, and then I believe they JUST we're the #1 Spotify Album for the week according not only their Global Albums Chart but also the US chart, which is a massive achievement and a great indicator of just how well accepted they are here. Heck, and that was for an album that they just released as a gift to their fans for the heck of it. I have a feeling that they are going to show everyone just how far a group of very pretty men can go in the Hip-Hop and Rap industry. Oh yeah, speaking of their looks, Congrats to Hyunjin for getting number #2 and BangChan for getting #20 on the "Top 100 Most HANDSOME Men In The World" list. 🖤
