MN got a lot of Danish people (towns like Askov, Tyler, etc. have big Dansk ancestry populations). There's so much nuance to MN! For example, it's *very* diverse: it's the #1 per-capita place for Karen (autonym "K'nyaw," not same as "Korean"), Hmong (not same as "Mongolian"), & Somali people (maybe for Oromo people too). This means a surprisingly high amount of delicious cultural food options.

The way I understand it is that Omaha and Lincoln are the last two cities before you hit the Western US to where there aren’t any major cities until Denver. I don’t think it’s really an Iowa connection regarding where Lincoln and Omaha are located, but instead an East vs. West divide in population density of the U.S. With that said, I imagine the sparsely populated West is incredibly boring until you get to the scenery, and Nebraska just so happens to be the state that transitions to that.

The city sucked and me and my work buddy were really disappointed. Regardless, the bars here are more filled on Fridays and Saturdays, and not so much on the weekdays. The chief of police even stated that "people can expect to be mugged." If you took the Twin Cities out of the equation, you might have a point.
