This level is extremely hard. Let me share few tips to help you pass this level.
1) The hardest parts to break are the bottom walls which require to hit it 5 times. 2nd level from the bottom also requires to hit 4 times. This makes number of strategies won't work. I tried to clear only one side, but failed. I also tried not to clear the cake, but it failed too.
2) Clear both cakes as quickly as you can, this will give you more room to work with. At the same time, exploding cakes will breaking down the walls.
3) Use the donut candy to clear the cakes. Keep in mind, it doesn't turn the black candy to stripped candy.
4) Vertical stripped candies are your best friend in this level. Not only it clear the walls, but also bring the candy to the bottom.
5) Make as many bomb + stripped candy. This is critical to win this level. In this game, i had about 4-5 of them. They're not hard to make, you need to look for them.
6) Keep eyes on timed candy. They're easy to clear at this level, but if you don't pay attention, it will explode.
7) Chocolate candy is always annoying. If you continue making bomb+stripped candy, it will keep chocolate candy at minimum.

Wow I'm SO glad to see that this video is STILL available after 5 years *and 6 months!!* GAWD I FEEL SO NOSTALGIC WATCHING THIS VIDEO OMFG. I used to watch this back in October-November of 2013 because it was the final level back then. Ahh the memories, please just don't delete this video it always makes me feel nostalgia when I come back every a few months/years ;-)
This is one level that I am thoroughly content with my one star.
My strategy to beat this level was to try to eliminate as much of the blocks at the bottom before breaking the ingredient drops, that way you aren't forced into making vertical striped candies on the two columns where the ingredients fall. The longer you wait to release the ingredients, the higher chance you have of making combos to break the blocks in the bottom corners.
I was stuck here for 3 weeks, longest ever for a level. I woke up one morning and I had been moved up to level 501...Nice!! I finished the game and waiting for new levels so now I'm trying this one again for the hell of it. I still hate it!!

Same here! One day all of a sudden I'm on level 501 and I've never competed 500. I'm STILL trying to complete 500 while waiting for new levels.... it's been weeks and no luck yet.

thank you Thomas not only for this game play but the other game play for this level I got upset from what others were saying about you. They should just accept you have played it and played it well. Good on you knowing that you need the Vertical stripped candies and getting them is 2 different things I dare to say I only get but a few changes to get them and than they are mostly in the wrong spot and very hard to move them over to where you need them to hit the cake and or the bottom walls
Also may I add I thank you for the extra tips you added here as well. I don't know how you do it without the paint brush that is my only way of getting the right stripes in the right place's but only once per game. I would be lost with out the paint brush. well done again Thomas

Cornbread asks the question I want answered! How on earth did that fruit on the chocolate machine drop to the left at 4:57??? That's where I get stuck and I need to wait for candy to align so I can switch. It's a pain!!!!

Finally I past this level today after being stuck on this level for 6 weeks
That's a good strategy but it is not easy to execute. Random candy drop in the first row will break the candy wall. Then ingredient starts flooding down.

Don't know how I passed this level, but I did and wasn't even concentrating. King knew I was getting tried,lol.
Been stuck on this one for weeks. I hate the layers you gotta break thru on the bottom.
level 500 is highest at the moment. New levels come out every 2-3 weeks.

Thanks and without spending anything on it, this level was tricky but finished it in one weekend. Kept having problemsn with removing the bottom rows, so concentrated on removing the bottom blocks just like Celic Lane below mentioned and trying to keep the ingredients unreleased for as long as possible.
