    Richard, I've learned and been inspired by many of your builds. Keep it up; I am following this series! However, I slightly disagree with you on vehicle selection. I got similar advice years ago when I selected my Triumph Spitfire to convert. It ticked all the boxes in terms of weight, aerodynamics and ease of conversion. The problem was after 5 years or so, I no longer wanted the car. I ultimately parted it out and sold it. I think the first and foremost factor is your love of the car and how it fits your lifestyle. My new build, the VW Bus, is not exactly the ideal EV candidate (except for ease and payload). But I love this car already more than the Spit and it has SO much more utility than a 2-seat convertible that I will likely keep it forever.

      I have owned a lot of vehicles over the last forty-seven years. Owned three Miatas, one of the most fun cars to drive ever. My wife drove a 1972 Custom Deluxe 4x4 Chevy Suburban for twenty-two years. Lots of great family memories with that car. I drove a 1971 GMC pickup for twenty-two years also. I have owned between thirty to forty vehicles over the years. I have loved all of my cars. The point is that the information I shared is mostly objective information. What you like is subjective and can change over time. In a perfect world, the car you love is also a great conversion candidate. Thank you very much for watching.

    Thanks Richard for your consistency over the years. EV swaps in some sense are the same as ten years ago but with so many OEM components out now and the increasing interest this is a good time to run this series with all the new considerations to keep in mind. Looking forward to it.

      Yes, there are a lot more options available today than when I started 15 years ago. A lot of options will depend on one's skill sets. We will be keeping this series basic and limited for a beginner. More advanced and for much more detailed information as well as examples are available with our Online EV Workshops. www.EVWorkshops.com As always, thank you very much for watching, your comments, and for being a subscriber.

    Thanks for the video series/tutorial! The engine on my 2015 86 blew up last fall and this is something I have been looking into since! I’m hoping to convert my car throughout this year!

    Thanks Richard, I have watched most your videos and have started my own conversion of a Jeep Wrangler, and hopefully a ev conversion business in the near future similar to your operation.
    Your content is excellent, and I look forward to attending your web workshop. 👍

    It's easy enough to lookup a vehicle's weight. Do you know how to find the coefficient of drag and rolling resistance metrics?

    • @ev4u
      @ev4u  ปีที่แล้ว

      Rolling resistance will be tough as there are a lot of variable. In regards the Cd, Google. Thank you for watching.

    In terms of value.. would a g-body 911 be ideal ? Assume the old 2.7L engine needs a rebuild. I’m split between rebuilding and or converting, ultimately will cost the same ?
