Just played Windmill Valley at Dice Tower West. You're right a light-for-them (Board&Dice) game, but not a light-weight game! Crunchy mechanics and an instant buy for some players. The individual player action cogs were so cool!!
Designer for Event Horizon here. Thanks so much for the mention. Just to be clear, it’s less civilization in space and more conquering the galaxy with deck building. Planets can give some resources but also some are waiting for players to occupy for points. Cheers!

Incubo sounds SO good! I can't wait to find out more. Great list. Over half I haven't heard of yet, which is why I just love these videos from you two!
You guys peaked my interest with that Vampire game and the Blackbeard. Jeff I love Kinfire Delve- not enough eyes on. I desperately want to play Kinfire Chronicles. I’m excited about Cthulhu Must Die, invincible from Direwolf, moonrollers, and Weirdwood.
I don't spend much time looking for information on games coming out next year since I am out of room. I have one outstanding Kickstarter project and that is for Colab and Palm Laboratory. Based on the lastest update, hopefully it will fulfill early in 2024. Yonder caught my attention and I'm hoping there will be more information available about it soon.
You mentioned a lot of the ones that are on my most anticipated list! Jeff, you may want to check out Sankoré: The Pride of Mansa Musa. It's co-designed by one of the co-designers of 3 Ring Circus - Fabio Lopiano. Here are my five most anticipated for 2024: 5. Windmill Valley - designed by Dani Garcia and published by Board and Dice. Barcelona was a hit for me so I want to check this out, too. It's lower, though, because it's pegged as a lighter game. 4. Daitoshi - wanna check this out because of Dani Garcia. And Devir has been knocking it out of the park lately. And this should be fairly heavy. So, that's exciting. 3. Inventors of the South Tigris - LOVE the first two games in this trilogy already. Planning on backing this one. 2. Sankoré: The Pride of Mansa Musa - heavy historical euro set in Timbuktu with a "dedicated solo mode." This sounds right up my alley. Art by Ian O'Toole, too! 1. Ezra and Nehemiah - LOVE the Biblical theme and seems like another solid design from Shem Phillips. Already backed and stoked to get my copy in the Spring!
If you like a good restaurant theme, you might like Rival Restaurants. It works best at 3+ though. But they have a new expansion kickstarting in 2024. It’s wicked fun and approachable
this is awesome i didn’t know about a lot of these games. i’m really excited for one that probably won’t come out in 2024 but at least is getting crowdfunded in 2024 and that’s Diablo. don’t know anything about the game yet but it is based on my favorite video game series of all time so here is hoping the board game version is great.
27:16: BONE WARS was on Kickstarter recently and I inst-backed it on theme alone. Although I'm not sure how well it will work for me: There are two "gentleman of independent means" who try to "discover" the most new dinosaurs - by *any* means, including mislabeling their findings as 'new' creatures, stealing and bribary (the "Wars" part of Bone Wars). The up to four players have to aligne with one of those two figures as their employees (but apparenttly can switch sides during the game). Those two "gentleman" really existed. For the palenontologicaly inclined: Jamie, are you aware of the two excellent YT-Channels @eons and @thebrainscoop (recently revived)?
