You guys hands down make the best military surplus ads ever. Would have ordered a Gorka jacket, but came to the sale a little late and my size was sold out.
I was obsessed with this camo for a very long time due to Red Dawn, and I finally got one at a flea market while living in Hungary. My excitement was dampened when it didn't look like the version on Red Dawn. Sold it at the Great Western Gun show in Panoma, CA for a good amount of money. Good enough to buy an SKS from the profit and also a Hungarian SA85m. Great video, and thanks for doing it. Also for clarification, SOF Robert Brown and his group of writers have claimed that they sold OG Soviet camo to the Red Dawn production team. John Milnius, the director, said it was true but he wasn't happy with the price and he said some of the Soviet stuff had blood stains and bullet holes on it.
Aaaah Hungary! what a lovely country. a "zero fvcks given" place. Cant wait to visit it again, I hope to marry a Hungarian woman someday, Western women sucks big sh¡t.
The camo is called Berezka or Silver Leaf / birch in English. The similar Pattern shown with yellow splotches Is gold birch (different camo pattern same Family). KLMK is a uniform overall cut. KLMK stands for Kamuflirovannyy Letniy Maskirovochnyy Kombinezon or "Camouflaged Summer Disguise Coverall" in English. KLMK suits were produced in serval patterns... Half Suits in silver leaf are KLM suits. The gold leaf half suits are KZS suits (Nuclear fallout and thermal radiation protection suit). Also the Gorka family is heavily inspired by the ww2 German Gebirgsjäger uniforms... More info from a Huge nerd.
IDEA: A modernised version of the Soviet/Russian winter Afghanka, using modern materials, similar to the ones used in the Gorka K2. It should have all the modern features you’d expect from a modern parka; reinforced areas to avoid general wear and tear and hook & loop panels on the bicep pockets (with EXTRA-LONG ones on the pocket flaps for use with a hook & loop name tag), BUT it should still keep the length most eastern-bloc Afghanka’s have, just because it’s too iconic not to. Ofc we need a detachable liner WITH the furry collar attached to the liner itself; the iconic look that makes the Afghanka so-so- *chefs kiss*. I want to be able to wear that liner with other coats if i wanted to, gosh darn it! Make it black too! The grey fur the Red’s used back in Afghan was cool and all, but black just goes better with everything 💅🏽 THICC zips are a MUST so they don’t break at all, as well as Canuck-style buttons so they don’t just rip off if you’re even a little bit rough with it. Ranger green to start off with (or two-tone with ranger green/olive green like with the K2) just to test the waters. Then when you know it’ll sell…bring in the GOOD STUFF! Like US M81 Woodland! Or Strichtarn! Or even DESERT NIGHT CAMO!!! …Or I guess Multi-Cam too, since everyone else does it 🤷♂️
Legendary Berezka. Our boys even storming Mars is a space future would wear Berezka. Also, would be some other Soviet and Russian camos? Like pretty rare but cool "Butan" (aka TTsKO) or famous and legendary "Barvikha" (aka VSR-93). Our it's harder to reproduct them now?
@KommandoStore maybe Gorkas too (there were real Gorka suits in such pattern, but it's hard to get it too. Even on Russian sale websites like Avito or Meshok, lel). But also some classical "afghanka" suit (BDU) - if it would be reliable, of course.
i bought a KLMK -Berezka last year, in big boy size, just to few years to find one. Same with rest of my russian camo collection, are all in big boy size,
How big of a “big boy size” and where did you find it? I’ve been trying for years to find some. I have two silver leaf Berezka suits but the material is so thin I’m nervous to use them as heavily as I want to.
As a proper gorka suit enthusiast: I really love your guys Gorka suit, however. Certain things such as slots for kneepads, and some x tra modernizations would be absolutely gorgeus. Ventilation possibilities on the legs, and even swapping out the under arm mesh for a zipper would make the suits more comfortable for us sweaty ass warm boys. I have some prototype SSO and SPLAV gorkas from the period 2007-2012 and all of them have some pretty wild concepts, such as mosquito/tick nets around the waist, Under arm zippers, detachable hoods, arm pockets with passthroughs, knee pads, elbow pads, gaiters ofcourse, and just a bunch of "non mass producible" specialties with them. Even one that has snap buttons instead of "canadian buttons". So perhaps one day a K3 will be even more modernized but still keep the classic look of the Gorka suit.
These are all great changes to modernize the gorka suits. With our M1 gorka we made some quality of life updates to make them a little more modern, but we'll definitely keep some of those features in mind for our next run of M-Series suits
Now we need 90-s style. Furr collars and "Flora" camo. Comfotable knit beanie hats with stupid pattern on them like Donald Duck or something which contrasts hilariously with rag-tag and bulky gear. They used these instead of bulky ushankas btw (which are awesome for extremely cold temperature and not just cold). More cigs, some 18-old children to act as conscripts who barely learned how to pee by themselves and now learned how to fight. Awesome thing you did here. AND. The Kino group is awesome, but it's not the only iconic group that you can use to create a distinct vibe.
The yellowish/orange pattern ones can be very effective in a forest in daylight during summer even at close range. Surprised some people just by standing up still, they didn't notice me at first. I used the "over-uniform" variant, with a see-trough hood. Marpat may be the king of winter, KLMK is the king of summer.
I used that tank helmet in military. It was very warm in winter and also worked as hearing protection. I heard ours were made in germany though, dont know if thats true or not.
