      I do it for fun. Me and my shooting partner. When my health permits. My buddy wanted to shoot long range. He had hunted all his life but never shot past 300 yards. He bought his set up in 300 Win Mag and we worked 4 to 6 days a week every evening in rain, wind, sunny etc. Somewhere from 15 to 20 rounds each outing for 6 months. Taught him to reload that winter. That season he took 2 deer at 728 yards. He then built another rifle in 300 W. M., Kelbely action, custom reamer, Bartlien barrel 30", custom trigger, NiteForce ATAC, Lapua brass, Viht.570, Berger Hybrid 215, Federal Gold Medal match primer @ 3150 fps. This rifle shot a 1¼ inch group at the 728 gong he took the 2 deer from a couple years ago. As far as posting proof. It would not matter. He has video of the clay pigeons from 800 to 1000 taken through my spotting scope. If you put in the time on the same range in all weather conditions this is possible. I have nothing to prove. This was not bragging just simple fact. Just because one person can't do something does not mean another can't with hard work.

      Length of the barrel has nothing to do with accuracy. It has everything to do with velocity. And unless you're shooting out at really really long distances....... There's not going to be a difference between 18 and 20 in.

    • @SHLowlight
      @SHLowlight  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not accuracy you lose, it's Muzzle Velocity, you can have a very accurate short rifle with a low mv so you can't shoot as far, but you can still shoot accurately

    • @NortheastSurvival911
      @NortheastSurvival911 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As the comment States here...... It's not accuracy that you're going to lose. It is velocity. However...... Unless you're it is velocity. However.... Unless you're taking REALLY REALLY LONG SHOTS...
      A 2-inch difference in barrel length is not going to make a difference.

    This video definitely makes me feel much better about the AR-10 / AR-308 I just built. Stainless steel 20 inch barrel. Currently has a 15 inch aluminum handguard.
    I'm thinking about switching it out to 18 in. Waiting on my bipod to get here.
    And I've got several muzzle devices I'm just not sure which one I should put on there. I'm contemplating just using a standard for Port muzzle brake.
    Any thoughts?

      I have this thing, it's called Sniper's Hide, we talk about this stuff all the time. It has a forum, articles, etc, we fill in the details there, vs here, because screw YT.

      ERIC SHOEMAKER they are definitely worth it just took one with him this weekend. He will spend individual time with you on any concerns or issues you have and he doesn’t make you feel like a number, remembers good hits you’ve made the day before to build your confidence but he’s not afraid to correct you and make sure your doing it right!

      Where at in Florida I live near Tallahassee and im looking for a long range I can shoot. I looked online only found two in the state that were over 300 yards but they were too far to drive. I'm looking for something maybe a couple hours away.

      I see that you use the AWC Thor Ti quite a bit in some of your vids. Is it worth the money? Seems very well built and nicely machined, the one I looked at.

    If you lob enough shots eventually you will get a hit

    • @SHLowlight

      or you improve the bullet and load and take it out immediately there was no LOBBING

    • @vmancity9691
      @vmancity9691 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok so you hit it once. Good job! Give yourself 10 shots. If you can hit the target 7 out of 10 times (which is passing in an educational setting) I would be impressed. Until then you are just lobbing until you get a hit. That’s what I see
