Lovely drop of filming in the cold weather, can be so enjoyable watching others out and about. I think, Ernie was having a great time on his walks, keep safe!
Thanks Nigel. Ernie does love being out and about regardless of weather, bless him 😊
The picking the phone up and waking up again in another century is something I've clearly mastered too. 73 years to actually get to sleep. Then another 100 to get up. Ancient Egyptian mummies have less sleep than me lately 😳🥱😴
Our mornings seem to get later and later🫣 in hoping that in summer we revert back to getting up and making the most of the day 🤞😊
@@uponreflection I wouldn't worry too much. There's a lot going on that most don't really know about. Not stuff the news puts out (not that I watch that junk anyway.) But the Solar maximum has been off the charts and reached new levels just a few days ago and the impact on Earth, electrically etc including affecting us little Earth ants is pretty extreme. Which is why so many have been feeling the effects in the last couple of years or so. Exactly the reason for the crazy amount of ground activity kicking off too. If you ever fancy watching someone explain all that stuff exceptionally well. Look up Stefan Burns as he's my go to for keeping up with these things. Eat well, hydrate and rest as much as you all need. We all do far more than we're supposed to so resting shouldn't feel naughty. It's a necessity 😁👌
Love the moving map. Great to see you can now show yourselves travelling around.
Perhaps Paul should start a cook book with alternative pasta dishes. Totally get that sometimes it's a case of make do with what's in the cupboards.
Have a great week cruising. Look forward to next week's vlog as always xx
Thanks Sally, the steak was better but hey ho food is food 🤣😊
Great video guys, nice to see Ernie doing as he is told LOL. Looks a lovely part of the world, thank you for sharing.
That's the side of Ernie that he usually hides from camera 🤣🤣😊
I feel like ive been out just watching thanks. Also that butchers you can tell is quality 😊😊
Hi Colin, thanks for joining us. The steak from the butchers was lovely, a little bit better than the lasagne the night before 🤣😊
Upon Reflection
Thanks for watching 😊
With the craziness that is happening here it is so nice to take a virtual ride with you three. very relaxing. Thank you!
Your very welcome, glad to have you along with us. Hope everything's OK 😊
I do love the paint job of your boat
Thank you 😊
Custard creams and custard last week, now penne lasagne..don’t think Jamie Oliver has anything to worry about! Loved the vlog Hi to you three. Ray and Gem x
Jamie Oliver would have a fit if he saw what comes out of our kitchen most days 🤣😊
Great winter moorings with brilliant drone footage Liz. Love to watch Paul take Ernie for his wintry morning walk. The lasgne looked good, but would have preferred the steak!
The factory is no more, such a shame!
Love the moving map Liz, so clever!
Take care, see you next week 👍
Thanks Jan, and yes the steak was a lot better than the lasagne 🤣 😊
You can't beat a proper butchers! ( And I don't mean av a look ) Remember when they hung half a lamb, side of pork, Chickens hanging, pigs head as central display, If the young saw that these days they'd be freakin out haha :)
Paul that's a crime against food! Good job Liz has a sense of humour lol Used to love the Monkeys on a Saturday morning :) I told you Liz keep driving the boat and let that Lump do the locks now and again haha! :) My right legs twitching and my left ears itchy so we due another cold spell so stay warm you three and stay safe :) Great as always :)
You and your twitchy, itchy legs..I always get nervous when you write about your predictions as you are usually spot on 🫣😉😊
Another great vlog, it’s been a while since I visited Atherstone, reminded me it’s worth a car ride. Lovely frosty scenery and great to see you enjoying it.
It's a lovely place Jean, nice little independent shops 😊
I built a seed catcher that attaches to the bottom of my bird feeder. Thanks for the video.
That's a good idea, a nice little project for Paul 😉😊
The best sort of winters day. Blue sky, s7n shi ing ,frost on the trees, bushes and grass. A pleasure to watch after all the grey murk we've had recently.
Glad you enjoyed Jackie 😊😊
My husband's mum used to work at the hat factory. He used to go and see her after school. He said he remembers the smell of wet felt and steam everywhere. The other lady workers loved his visits. Loving your vlogs.
Wow what a lovely memory to have 😊
*Morena Liz, Paul & Captain Ernie on Waitangi Day in Aotearoa/New Zealand Thursday 6th Feb 2025 🙂 Gosh you really got all iced in for a few days aye and it looked really bitter cold too 🙂Mind you the scenery looked so lovely on Paul's walk 🙂 Wow I loved looking at the village that you were in, all them older buildings and their quaint little shops. That radio in the shop window took me back as we had one sitting on the window sill in the kitchen back in the day 🙂 Liz well done on making the boat sail on down the canals on the map. Maybe do it at the end of the video as to where you have been, rather than at the beginning to have to backtrack at the end lol or just edit it in, at the beginning, as you are editing your vids..Oh you know what I mean aye?🙂y'all have a fabulous week and see y'all in the next vid next Thurs nz time🙂.*
Hi Andrea. Hope you are well. I'm going to have to Google Waitangi Day as I've not heard of that if I'm honest. Yes the moving maps I might just show at the end but not every video I don't think as I like to mix things up a bit as you know 😉😊
@@uponreflection *Waitangi Day: Every year on 6th February, New Zealand marks the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840. In that year, representatives of the British Crown and over 500 Māori chiefs signed what is often considered to be New Zealand's founding document. The day was first officially commemorated in 1934, and it has been a public holiday since 1974.🙂Aotearoa/New Zealand.*
Wow that looked bloody cold didn't blame Liz for wanting to be a hermit 😂
Love the moving map.
I will text you Liz tomoz x❤
I love hermitting in the winter Debbie, honestly if I didn't have to walk Ernie I'd probably be more like a little hibernating hedgehog 🤣😊
@uponreflection I am exactly the same if i didn't walk Frosty x
We have talking dogs too! 😂😂
They're a rare breed 🤣😊
should have used custard creams instead of pasta shells.
keep smiling lots of love M❤❤artin
🤣😍
Love Atherstone, great moorings, towpath and town, the locks are some of the easiest on the network 👍 you need sunflower hearts in the bird feeders, they tend to throw the smaller seeds out. Ernie is so cute. Great vlogs as always 😘
Sunflower hearts, I'll have a look out for those, thank you 😊
@ 👍
👍
Thank you for watching 😀
Love the moving map, with Captain Ernie at the Tiller. 🙂
We make Bird seed balls with Suet, Seeds, an empty 6 size plastic egg box, & some ribbon for hanging.
TFS, & take care you 3. 👍🙂🐶
That's a good idea to make your own. Paul can maybe have a go at doing his own too 😉😊
@uponreflection Yay. 👍🙂🐶
HELLO ;PE good to see ya both looking cool it was cold to day i was working in it tuesday was utter rubbish
It's been cold today but at least its been dry, well it has where we are anyway. 😊
Love your moving map ,well done 👍
The colour of Paul's hands making that lasagna 😂😂😂 I bet it had flavour 😂😂😂
Ha ha I know that was coal grime from the fire 🤣 thought it tasted like charcoal 🤣🫣😳
Thank you so so much for the coffees Barbara. Your so kind and we really appreciate it 😊
@@uponreflection your welcome I love your videos, see you next week
Looks like an end of the week Uni Meal Guys, basically what ever is left in the cupboard.🤣🤣😎👍🏼
Yeah definitely, it was the fact that we had lovely fresh steaks in the fridge that we could have had 🤣🫣😊
Hi guys, thanks for sharing todays vlog always have a good laugh watching you both and of course Ernie. See you next Wednesday.
Take care and stay safe. 😊❄️🚲
Thanks Yvonne and so glad you enjoy the videos 😊
Good evening Paul Liz & Ernie 😊. Another enjoyable episode, but did you enjoy the steak not bad for £8?
We are well looking forward for spring to arrive. Hope you have a great week.😊
The steak was lovely Simon, better than the lasagne 🤣😊
That looked pretty bloody cold! But it makes for really lovely views of the countryside. Really not sure about that dish formerly known as "lasagna"....Anyway, thanks for another entertaining video guys. Stay warm.
Ha ha it wasn't too bad but the steak that was in the fridge was better 🤣😊
Boss vid! Love the map!! Well done! 👏 bit of match on, tomorrow! 😂 🔴 Y.N.W.A.
Yep we are moving tomorrow to get nearer a pub so Paul can watch it in there 😉😊
@uponreflection unlucky spurs fans! Anfield 🔴👍
Ahh, aren’t wednesdays the best with Captain Erns on a moving map! He obviously knows what he is doing! Loved it, counting down to Spring now! Keep warm, guys and thank you for the brilliantly funny vlog!
Thanks Eric. Spring is definitely on the way, winter has been pretty good to us so far. 😊
Dear Liz, Paul and Captain Ernie
Liz your moving map is fantastic!! 😀 Just love how you managed to get Assumption and Captain Ernie on it.
I get the impression that winter has not been too difficult this year compared to last year regarding the ice on the canals. For you guys it won't be too much longer and the flowers will be blooming. Vanessa on Alice Grace found snow drops recently. Blooming luverly lol. 💐🌹🌻🌷(bouquet for you Liz)
Mark
Alberta, Canada
Loving the bouquet, thanks Mark 😉 yes we've seen a few snowdrops already. We were saying the other day how good winter has been so far really. January has been really quite dry with crisp, blue sky days. Definitely not moving about winter so far 😊
oh yes i remember that very well liz it was quite close to big trouble i remember paul saved the day bless him it so cold to day but work needs to be done im sure of tomorrow i have worked 3 days so far tuesday was not going to happen it was utter rubbish did i tell you one of my cistomers has a dog like yours blimey his a real love dog he lets you know when he wants you to love him his name is tom

As lasagna it was "rrrubbish", but it looked to be a passable baked ziti. Cheers.
The steak we had the following night was better 🤣😊
Hi there Liz and Paul . What time do you go to bed , if you’re still in bed at nine. I suppose it’s the warmest place to be. Especially with the temperatures you’re getting . Nice fresh morning s can’t beat them. Bob
We go to bed about 11.30pm or there abouts. We used to get up at 6am but slowly it has got later and later since being on the boat. I'd say we usually up about 8.30 9am ish 😉😊
Loved the vlog, very entertaining as always.
We just love you 3.x
Thank you so much jayne 😍
Lovely vlog as always, nice to see Atherstone from another perspective as of late its been given a bad reputation. Quick question do you live aboard permanently or do you have a house aswell? Also Paul I think the pennies pasta would have worked if you had cooked it 1st.. love nb Lady in red Deborah and Paul ❤
Hi guys, atherstone is lovely..sad to hear that it's got a bad reputation then. We live on board permanently. We have a house that our son was renting out but he is now buying his own house so we are currently putting the house on the market. 😊
@uponreflection were currently at Barton marina, planning on cruising permanently soon. Shes 24 months old & due to work commitments we have only had chance once. If this way say hi. Love Deborah x
Love the ' Pauls Narrowboat cooking Channel ' .. good moving map Liz was that done on davinci ?
Hi Andy, just watched your chat on chugabugs, it was really good. No I did it on the editor I use to do the vlogs, it was a little tricky at first but actually really easy once I knew the steps 😊
Great vlog lovlies can I ask what coal do you use we have tried a few and like Ernie says its been rubbish we are very new to this so any advice on the coal is very much appreciated 😊
Hi there, we tend to use whatever the fuel boat has if I'm honest. Excel is probably the one we use the most. 😊
@uponreflection thank you so much 💓
Liz, can you control Paul on the boat 😂
No, to be honest he's uncontrollable 🤣🤣😊
I frequently made "lasagne" like that when I didn't have enough (or any) lasagne sheets. What the heck? Pasta is pasta!!! So the texture is a bit different! Who cares?
Exactly 😉😊
I hope you're doing well. I’m a dedicated TH-cam thumbnail designer with a focus on crafting thumbnails that are engaging and aligned with your channel’s branding. I’d be happy to design a sample for you to check. If you approve, we can discuss future collaborations. I’m waiting to hear back from you, thanks!
another canal boat vlog who merely unload camera on youtube, not doing any editing. wasting viewer's time.
Look at these vloggers, do you see and hear why they are good? .#boattime @boattime @followtheboat #followtheboat @alifefullofmeaning @thenarrowboatpirate
Ha ha funny... I spend hours editing. Upload camera to TH-cam, yeah right. Did you actually watch the vlog as the music is timed, and all clips are edited. But thanks for your comment. I appreciate the time it took you to write a comment. 😉
