Tomoa is just too good, he climbed like he wasn't blindfolded! It is super impressive how much you two were able to commit whilst blind - the amount of trust required is insane!
This really showcased the insane skill difference between a very good climber and a top pro. Tomoa's control over his body is impeccable. And his confidence/bravery to jump for the top on the last boulder!
Keep up the content man! You guys are doing so great. And I just want to add that Tomoa is a beast for a reason, he is experienced enough to do these moves even blindfolded
Wooooooaaahhh how amazing was this. 😱😱😱.The first thing that normally happens when you do something blindfolded is that you loose your sense of space and distance, as perceptual information is no longer present . You can no longer judge the accuracy through spatially updating. But that seems not to happen at all with `Tomoa whereas with Ikedai san it does (hence the loss of confidence). I think that Tomoa San still visualises the whole setting as if having a photographic memory and thus recalling all in detail with great accuracy, So this spatial image recalled from memory interacts with and directs the body as if not blindfolded at all. Impressive!! That is such an interesting experiment. I wonder what would happen if you also blocked all sound and how that would affect your climbing. Thank you for this, fascinating! 👏👏👏👏👏 and 🙏to both of you for doing this experiment!
Damn, that's so impressive. He's so good at remembering routes and his spatial memory is amazing. Very great skill for a competition climber. I was thinking, on that last boulder, what if the Boulder was just the pink volumes and the last two holds. Very hard, but maybe possible.
So scary! Took full commitment to trust your feet on these problems. I had to close my eyes every time you came off the wall without knowing where the ground is in order to properly brace for the impact. Seemed like an ankle or knee injury just waiting to happen!

Proprioception and ability to mentally map yourself accurately onto the wall seems to be an underrated skill of elite climbers
