@@themechanic6117 that's right. It is what it is. I lived in Florida for a long time. While you dont have the rust and corrosion issues down there you do run into other problems related to the sun and the heat. There are pros and cons everywhere you go.
I dont know about that. Perspective is everything. The heat destroys all rubber seals, hoses, gaskets, belts. Also anything that is plastic or vinyl. The UV rays from the sun down there are way worse so it destroys anything it touches 10 fold. Paint, dashboards, upholstery, etc. You have to repair and maintain a lot of other stuff a lot more down there than you do up north.

@@themechanic6117 The feeling is mutual, man. I'm an OG from back in the day. I bought my first EF new from the dealership in September of 1991. I spent countless nights in it cruising, getting late night chicken, laughing with friends while we did stupid sh*t...I drove it to the top of a mountain where I proposed to my wife. Unfortunately, that car got stolen in 1997, or I'd still have it now. I was living in Japan, and trusted it to my dad. I learned never to trust my dad after that... Long story short, I suffered a LOT, until I found my current EF, and this one is staying MINE, forever. Maybe I'll be buried in it. haha I just had a dude beg me (in a parking lot, while my wife was grabbing sammiches) to sell him my car...and he wouldn't stop for like 20 minutes. Every day, people give me thumbs ups and smiles when they see this car. I'm sure you get the same treatment, in your Rex. I wouldn't trade it for a Lambo. Sorry to talk your ear off, but yeah, I do my own work, so having you guide me, is super awesome, and I'm soooo grateful, man. Truly. Cheers! =)
Nice to hear this story, my first car was a crx so they are dear to me. For being old cars they definitely are attention grabbers! I always catch people looking but in my case it's probably because mine looks like it belongs in the junk yard lol
The X-Files music with the Thomas mug was my favorite part of the video. 😁 My OCD made me want to come over to your house & sweep out your garage but you putting the seat back in without vacuuming the carpet sent my OCD off the edge. 🤯🤯🤯
I didnt vacuum the carpet because its all getting ripped out. I have new carpet and floor mats. I figured cleaning the carpet is a waste of time since its all coming out 👍
I like to focus on the details because I think they make a huge difference in how a car looks. Cool steering wheel. 318 in case Thomas stops by, I saw that. :) "Install new door handle you are done". Nice new parts too.
I have much more work to do but every little jobs makes me happy .lol I thought Thomas would get a kick out of that. The broken door handle was so annoying since its used every time to get in.glad to get it fixed. i found that its becoming more difficult to find parts for the crx
Good video. Only thing I see you need to check is the passenger side turn signal "with marker light" are not blinking and stay on all the time. They should alternate with the bumper lights.
*@**23:35* I have found that with parts that have corroded, or maybe have become weak- after blasting/sanding/brushing all you can, drill a series of tiny pin holes in the part, then push in mixed JB Weld cream epoxy to all surfaces, making sure to connect the epoxy through the holes, to give it more rigidity and structural integrity. Using the holes to connect is very important. When dry- it can be filed, blasted/sanded down to smooth, built up where it should be. You can even drill & tap it. JB Weld accepts etching primers & paints very well, too.

The reason your hatch support covers don’t fit is because you replaced with the incorrect part. I too made the same error because O’Reilly told me they don’t make those anymore. I went to NAPA and they cost $36/ea instead of $18/ea. But the part is available for purchase. Hopefully this is corrected. Love the video.
when I drop the K series in ill have a Ktuned billet shifter assembly so ill get my shift knob thatll fit that. its why i wanted to change the knob to something I had kicking around instead of spending money on one.
I like the JDM front end but I dont think its worth its price point for a conversion like that. when I was younger I was all about the JDM but not so much anymore. The stock front end is ok with me. Now if this was a 88-89 crx the most I would do is change the front end to a 90-91 front end but I already have that.
