EU can have some tech-transfer in EV from China (you heard that right!), but even with tech-transfer, EU companies would not be fast/capable enough to outcompete Chinese's. Counter-example: back then German engineers leaked out some HSR tech during their construction in China, and 20 years later, China is dominant in HSR. All because of 'China speed'.
