    Almost threw my speaker out because its been doing this on and off for over a year. So glad i found this video. Works perfectly now. Thank you so much for uploading this!

    It worked!!! Same behaivor of farting before.
    This solution seems very easy to be the fix for the speaker, however, I cleaned the contacts and after putting the battery in and out a couple of times, it is working by now.

    Does anyone know how to replace the battery on the original SoundLink Mini. The one that has 2 pads for feet and does NOT have the removable panel with screws underneath?

    I had this same problem. I used isopropyl alcohol wipes to clean the contacts. It did not work. I'll try contact cleaner if I can get my hands on some

      I hope it works. But it could also be that your battery is bad.

      I think the most likely cause for no power is a broken battery. But maybe you'll get lucky and this will work. Let me know if it worked for you.

    What is contact protector? Also, mine plays via Bluetooth for a while and then randomly shuts off. What could that be about? Doesn't seem to be holding a charge so will have to try this.

    • @SpareTimeWorkshop
      @SpareTimeWorkshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is of course always a chance that your speaker will be damaged if you open it. But if it's already broken, you might as well try, right?

    Hi did you try to remove the battery and use Only ac adapter ? Dors it work? Mine has a similar problem: wet fart sound After One minute of using and then no sound but ...i Think battery died but i don't want to replace it

    • @SpareTimeWorkshop
      @SpareTimeWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes i tried that. but unfortunately only wet fart sounds.
      You can try contact spray to see if it helps. maybe you are lucky.

    Mines wasn't charging in the tray I wet the connection and it started charging so there must be dust on that connector I'll have to get the toothbrush out see what I can see. But the thing has been going strong for 8 years looks like I got the same model as this one we're watching. Right now it's charging we'll see the sound system works great as far as Bluetooth connection to the main stereo Yamaha 7/2 unit which I put a plugged in a Bluetooth output for it. Subtle connect to this thing out on the Lanai. Like I said my issue was speaker not charging in the tray. Anybody had that issue let me know the permanent fix. I hate to say it but I wet it with my tongue. Put it in a train and it started charging again I'm sure there's possible debris maybe dust over the years. It's charging right now while I'm listening to it so we'll go from here next. Fairing happy to find this video online thanks. 👍

    If the battery is ALL the way dead, zero volts, it won't charge. remove the battery and place dc 12v power on the marked positive and negative terminals on the battery for about 20 seconds and retry it in the speaker.

    • @SpareTimeWorkshop
      @SpareTimeWorkshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it is safer to replace the battery in this case.

  • @jimwjohnq.public

    Mine don't even do that. No power even when connected to ac adaptor. New battery, still no power. Nothing. Might be the mainboard. Anyone have any luck in changing one out? Other than that, my Bose makes a nice brick.

    You can't remove the battery on a SoundLink mini ll... It's hard wired!

    • @SpareTimeWorkshop

      Can't you unsolder it? Or can't you get to it?

    • @justmeinnh2
      @justmeinnh2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SpareTimeWorkshop You have to take the speaker apart to get to the connection on the motherboard and pry the connector off with tweezers... I don't know why Bose did this to SoundLink mini ll when with the SoundLink mini l the battery would just pop right out to be replaced.

    • @SpareTimeWorkshop
      @SpareTimeWorkshop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@justmeinnh2 They might have done that to prevent a bad connection. Like I had on my soundlink 1.
      But annoying if you want to replace the battery.

    I appreciate your efforts in fixing the Bose Soundlink mini (1st generation) Bluetooth speaker. However, I am deeply disappointed by the design of the circuitry housing, which I find to be inadequate and hindering repair. I purchased my Soundlink mini 1st generation for INR 16,800, along with an additional INR 3,800 for the pouch. I cherished this device, even writing an independent review after four months of use. Unfortunately, it now appears that the battery has failed, indicated by a blinking red LED when I attempt to charge it. Bose no longer services this model, and the necessary battery is unavailable or prohibitively expensive from online sources. This experience has soured my opinion of Bose and other tech companies that produce such poorly constructed devices. I believe it is time for consumers worldwide to voice their concerns and consider boycotting Bose products. An independent agency should conduct a thorough audit of such practices. It is regrettable that a company of Bose's reputation has failed to meet my expectations.

      I don't feel much like boycotting. I have had a Bose soundlink 2 for several years. And I am very satisfied with the design and sound of the speaker. Only the battery protection I do find irritating about this speaker (if you don't use it for a long time, you have to plug it back into the charger first to turn it on).
      I do agree with you that it is not a speaker you can easily open for repairs.
      What you can try is updating your speaker via your computer possibly this will fix your problem.

      @@SpareTimeWorkshop Can you please share the link where I can update the firmware? However, with not able to retain any charge and coupled by the Red LED blinking (instead of orange LED) when put the charger adapter, I guess it will not able to update the firmware.
