    hello and thankyou for reacting to the best band that ever existed. In 1985 3 young norwegians started a band an released take on me asking the world to give them a chance. I was 16 at the time and instantly fell for them and their music. Moving on 37 years later i’m still a huge A-HA fan. I’m 54 now. A-HA have and continue to produce the soundtrack to my life. They’re still around and have released 11 albums. A-HA are a very criminally underrated and unappreciated band especially nowadays back in the 80’s A-HA were loved all over the world except the USA. They are considered a one hit wonder there. I hope you’ll react to more A-HA as their music is unique it’s always changing and evolving. Thanks again and Take care 😘 ❤️🇳🇴❤️A-HA FOREVER❤️🇳🇴❤️

    This is from 1985. This is technically the 3rd version of the song. The released two versions in Europe. A US producer heard them and signed them. They released the Huntin Hi and Lo album which won best new artist. ONLY one person animated the whole video. It was WAY ahead of it's time.
    Volkswagon did an AWESOME parody of this video years back: th-cam.com/video/acv1_WddLdI/w-d-xo.html

    ah welcome to one of the best bands ever, a band with so many styles of music. And arguably one of the best vocalist of all time. Still going to this day. Released a new album last November. , continue their journey with the next 3 singles from this their debut album, the sun always shines on tv, train of thought, and the title track hunting high and low.

    Its called rotoscope. Took animators months to draw every frame. Morton Harket is the lead singer and has a 5 scale octave range. Watch the second part The Sun always shines on TV. It finishes the story of the girl and her unreal guy.

    This video is the most expensive video ever and was a gamble for Warner. Sowing the seeds of love ( tears for fears ) rivalled in expense. The architecture is rotoscoping. 2 guys in 1 room put this masterpiece together. Walt disney invented rotoscope with tom and gerry circa 1930.

    The 70's till 90's had some of the best music of all time.
    So many great bands/singers during those years.
    Sadly the quality of music these days is a joke compared to then.
    How many songs from past 2015 are in the top 1000 of all time. (very few because they are not good enough for that list)

    It's bittersweet to have lived in the 80's because we knew without any doubt that we were living in the best possible times, and that they also couldn't last. Believe me when I say that if a time portal opened to the 80's, then I would step through immediately and never look back.

    It came out in 1985. The animated scenes of the video were first shot as live action scenes and then they were animated using an animation technique called rotoscoping. It took 4 months to complete all the drawings before the video was released on MTV. In my opinion, the best music video of all times. 🙂

    Amazing reaction to one of the most iconic music videos ever. A-ha is a Norwegian band consisting of three men. They traveled to England in the early 80's hoping for an international career, and after a bit of luck and a lot of stubbornness managed to do so. Fantastic band still making music. I see that you have received several suggestions for further reactions, and support them. I would also suggest Manhattan Skyline and Sycamore leaves.

    This blew everyone away in the 80's. There was nothing like this video, a few years prior Michael Jackson came out with his Thriller video which was top of the line in prosthetics but this video with the comic, totally 1 of a kind. A lot of reactors dont get that when the waitress crumples the comic book it lets the bad guys out that he beats in a race in the beginning of the video.

  • @TheRatsCast
    @TheRatsCast 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    I didn't see anyone comment on this; but this video's ending was based on a movie called Altered States, which starred William Hurt. It was about a man who used a sensory deprivation tanks with powerful hallucinogenic to reach another states of consciousness. But the experience would alter his body as well; so in the end scene, he was changing forms, and started slamming himself against the walls in the hall to transform back. The band members liked this film, and uses that scene for their music video.

    Hi I'm a new subscriber and just found your reaction to "Take on Me". This is one of my favorite songs from the 80's. The song came out in 1984, but the music video is from 1985. The guy in the video is a-ha's lead singer Morten Harket and the girl is actress Bunty Bailey. The music video won six awards at the 1986 MTV Video Music Awards, Best New Artist in a Video, Best Concept Video, Most Experimental Video, Best Direction in a Video, Best Special Effects in a Video, and Viewer's Choice. It's definitely one of the best music videos of the 80's. You should also check out "The Sun Always Shines on Tv" . A lower quality rendition of the song was recorded & was originally released in 1982-83 along with an even lower quality video & the song failed to gain traction until the song was reworked until they got it to its present form. They went back to the drawing board on the video. As you can imagine, the tech did not exist to make a video like this at that time. Nothing like this had ever been done before . The animated scenes alone took 16 weeks to complete as they were first filmed then subsequently copied frame by frame... by hand!!! It was all worth it as this video took the world by storm. I can attest to it as I was 18 when the song and video was re-released in 1985. We were all blown away because we'd never seen anything like this before & I honestly don't think we have since. A-ha had 5 hits during their run with only 2 charting in the US. They continue to tour & this song has been featured in everything from Grey's Anatomy to Deadpool. You might also want to check out The Sun Always Shines on TV and Robert Palmer's Addicted to Love. Keep up the good work!!❤

    Hi Chase! The year was 1982 but it apparently took a few goes to become a hit in 85. I believe it turned into a One Hit Wonder, maybe one of the best of that category. And yes you pronounced the name correctly Ah Hah. I’m glad you enjoyed it, it’s a masterpiece on multiple levels. There was a BLOCKED message on the video portion was that there or done to you by the software? Sigh.

    The Sun Always Shines on TV is another very good song from this group, though I do not like the video ending to the story from Take On Me.
