In Gabon, French interests are more significant than in any other African nation. Recently, an opposition leader disclosed that there are areas within Gabon where citizens can't enter without obtaining permission from France, and these are not confined to the French embassy.

🇬🇦Gabon is an OPEC country with an additional💎 diamond, gold and oil exports. it population of 2 million.
THERE IS NO WAY that country should be that poor !!! no way
🇧🇭 Bahrain is also an OPEC country with a small population and it is a desert with no diamond mines or gold mines or 🌱 🌳 🌾forest
the people in Gabon should be wealthy........................... and you can look at the cities in Gabon and see that their banks saw NEVER $$$ the billions it should intake per quarter.
THE BILLIONS ARE NOT BEING TAKEN OUT , i think this countries wealth is stolen before it got to the shores.
France prints the $$ CFA franc ....and control 100% of the exchange rate. if France run out of ink to print paper money? how will these countries circulate the cash??? its ridiculous to have another country hold your wealth
You cannot give 100.00 USD to GABON, you have to give the $100 USD to French Banks, then French banks change it, take a free and give Gabon it in $ CFA franc.
its like they are fcking 5 years old 🍼 👶🏽... it like when grandparent give the children money and the mother said "let me kep this safe for you!! and the child never see that money AGAIN 😆😁 = That is France 🇬🇦Gabon reservoir gold is so gone like all of those countries. the vault is empty.
the relationship with France is beyond politics - it down right parasitic. AND UN has done nothing about it. useless

It is frustrating to me that Africans allow foreigners to prevent them from going to places within their country; as in South Africa, even after the "end of Apartheid" . Yet (mainly Europeans) continue to the promote the propaganda that Black people are the most violent race of people. Black people globally are too docile

In a regional context, the notion implies that the remaining African nations ought to emulate the actions taken by others. Specifically, it suggests that these countries should strive to liberate themselves from the grip of Western imperialism. This entails breaking free from historical dependencies and asserting their sovereignty on their own terms.
On an international scale, the concept signifies a resounding call from African voices for Western governments to disengage from African affairs. It reflects a collective desire for Africa to independently determine its own leadership and destiny, devoid of external interference driven by Western interests. The appeal is for a genuine and unbiased opportunity for self-governance, allowing the African nations to chart their own course and shape their futures in a manner that aligns with their unique cultural, social, and economic aspirations.

We regret it today Nothing changed instead human rights abuses got worse. On 23 August Mnangangwa was re -elected in a massively rigged election condemned by SADC , AU , EU, and all international observers . In identifying the problem, you must include the foreign element, or you will get nowhere, and be used by the likes of France, who reportedly make 500 billion dollars a year from Africa. If you pretend they have no influence on your country, you would elect a nice, responsible looking leader who, in exchange for French 'protection', would let the French buy Uranium at 10% of market prices while depositing 85% of your annual earnings in the French Central Bank, in observance of some dodgy colonial 'treaty'. So you need to ask these preliminary questions of your leaders before electing them. You cannot evade the foreign element.

    Now, where are we❓
The end of France's hegemonic rule in West Africa, last but not least.
A significant event having consequences for the area and the world is the coup in Gabon. It is the first coup in Gabon since 1964, and it occurs at a time when France's control in West Africa is crumbling and there is political unrest across much of Africa.❗
Regionally, the coup might halt the "Franco Front's" advocacy of "cosmetic democracy" throughout Africa and put the Central African region in jeopardy. The Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), of which Gabon is a member, may experience a power vacuum as a result of the coup. ❗
A new generation of fearless leaders who are dedicated to real democracy and preserving their countries' sovereignty by peaceful methods with the support of their people may benefit from this.❗
The coup may hurt France's economy internationally and make it open more attractive to new foreign investors. Since Gabon is a significant producer of oil, the coup might stop exports of oil to France. The "Franco Front's economy might suffer as a result of this.❗
The UN has possibly begged with all parties to find a peaceful resolution to the current conflict, and the African Union may have requested that constitutional order be restored in Gabon.❗
What the coup's long-term effects will be cannot yet be predicted. Although it is obvious that the revolution represents a significant blow to France's control in West Africa, it also heralds a new era of stability for the Central African region.❗
Thank you, Al Jazeera English , for highlighting the current event of the downfall of France's
    hegemony in West Africa. ❗

The waves of coups now taking place in some of the African countries will definitely make the citizens poorer as the leaders may not have the usual, access to the global communities. This is disastrous to any nation as the military are trained to protect the country and the citizens and not to govern. No country in Africa has been known to have benefited from coup. There is no doubt coups create excitement at the beginning and at the end deteriorate to hardship which eventually result to chaos among the citizens and at times civil war. We have witnessed that a lot of time these coup leaders find their way to civilian administration as opposed to remain in the military. Not all military forces in Africa are interested in coups but they are rampart in small countries like we are seen across the Francophone countries. If the citizen of these countries feel that they have been oppressed by their former colonial masters, I think there are other ways of getting around the rejection than military coup that we never get any support in the global community. Any country that openly support coups in African have a hidden agenda which is trap. What the military in Gabon should do is to immediately organize a fresh election that will not include the current deposed president rather than trying to hang on to power as some of the Francophone countries now under the military have done. It is unproductive, and chaotic as they are basically cut off from the rest of the world.
