Love seeing this kinda comment. I'm on the opposite end here - I only follow Melee, and I only clicked this video because it has Zain in it. He just seems like a great guy and it's been a blessing to have him as a contender for #1 for so long.
You need to watch Mang0 the Musical, seriously please watch it my love for melee got so much deeper from that video, it also features a few combo videos with perfect tracks for players involved in the storyline including the sickest Zain shit he does in melee, super stylish, cool chill guy, please watch it 😂
What’s absolutely fascinating to me about this whole thing is this obscure and rare scenario when a pro player (Zain) decides to put themselves in such a vulnerable position of learning an entirely different feeling game, but has the mind of a top player. Zain knows exactly what his top player opponents feel when playing him but he doesn’t know what to do about it yet.
Leo gave some great advice here fr, zain is terrified to airdodge bc of melee, and he shield stops a lot bc its a common marth option, but to adapt he needs to shield less and airdodge more lol.
Low key, as a scrub that's trying to learn Roy, Zain's poisoning has been so helpful, its like I'm getting second hand lessons by the best players in NA
As a melee player that have tried ultimate, one of the things that changes alot is the dash forward. In melee is awsome to bait others to attack and then whiff punish them with dash-dance, wavedash, etc. In ultimate is harder to play agressive because you are totally vulnerable at the start of the dash, making it safer to play a zoning game than a rush-down game..
i think he just really likes roy in his first stream where chat picked the character beforehand he spent a lot of time talking about how cool kola’s roy is and how his roy in melee is sick but still worse than marth
@@ElAbsentnot going to happen. He was pretty clear that the chosen character would be the one he would stick with. The contest was done using subs, so theres a fair bit of money that people threw down to determine the character. Would not look good if he went back on that.

Airdodge functions completely differently in melee than in ultimate. It's almost never used as a defensive option. Only really a last ditch recovery thing most of the time
I don't understand the massive tugging over melee players trying ultimate, most aren't as good at ultimates mental style because there's more people on the same mechanical level and it's a more even playing field. Melee taking more mechanical skills meant there were far less people able to use thier brains at higher skill levels, Leffen kinda proved that.
@@christophersadri6464 give me an example of something leffen did that proved melee players are unable to use their brains at higher skill levels, because i genuinely have no idea which instance you're referring to / hinting at
@@yeah2646 I didn't say Melee players are unable to use thier brains. I said Ultimate has a more people able to reach the max button skill ceiling, which means there's more people that can play using thier mental capacity at a higher skill level because it's easier button wise, this makies it harder for Melee players as there's more competition. Leffen proved this by trying and giving up as he wasn't as successful at Ultimate because there was MUCH more competition able to play at a high skill and cerebral skill cap, that's all. I'm not saying Melee players are dumb, I'm saying thier not as used to playing a game where the button skilll level is easier meanning there's more cerebral competition as a whole. Bigger pond, more big fish, harder to make it.
