    The 90 days advice comes from ebay themselves... they said it at the Roadshow during one of their optimise your listings sessions and they told us on the phone during a 'how to optimise your listings' type call. I've no doubt there will be organic sales after 90 days but I don't think they'd put as much emphasise on it if they didn't think there was something to it.

      Crazy to think that eBay term ending an item as ‘optimising’ it.
      Do eBay stop pushing after 90 days of unsold?
      Obviously what ‘pushing’ means is up for interpretation, but we sell many items older than 90 days. It usually means we got the price wrong in the first place or that the item has little appeal generally, and sometimes we can do 3 or 4 rounds of sell similars and it still doesn’t sell.
      The problem with what eBay say is that it’s not hard to find YT videos from people who have been to different meetings, who get given different information.
      Also, not one for conspiracies but the more people that are in a habit of relisting, the more money eBay makes.
      The truth is as clear as mud 🤣🤣🤣

      Unless they’ve recently started culling search results, I don’t believe eBay here. It’s in eBay’s interest to push sellers to keep active, listing, refreshing and selling, as well as encouraging promoting/advertising. An old listing is costing them money so saying the 90 day thing encourages sellers to be more active. My wife has over 1k items listed and has sold stuff that’s been listed for well over a year. Some items are not in high demand and people will search when they need a particular thing.

  • @ThisisJo

    I believe the 90 days thing is fact from EBay themselves. I don’t think it stops being visible, but it’s just not as likely to come up if someone isn’t specifically searching for a particular item. Obviously if it’s being promoted then they will keep you visible. I end and sell similar every day to stop my stock dropping off.. The other thing is, the amount of times my older item has sold immediately after ending it and selling similar, so it’s a worth while task for me. The drafts bank for me is absolutely vital as I have a small child and days can go by without being able to photograph stock. But that’s a workflow rather than any sort of eBay necessity. Summer holidays are hard and batching is necessary!

    Ebay itself explicitly said 90 days. I have provided evidence of that in one of my videos. It wasn't rep. It was an official video here in youtube, on ebays channel. I dont think they would upload a video on official channel with somebody saying things pulled out of the annus.
    In fact, i can see short taken from that video, directly under your while I'm watching.

    Your info is really helpful thanks, I was surprised when looking at other finalists as well m& the Total amount of items listed by some sellers, which I thought wasnt really very much as I was comparing it to my numbers and I’m not getting the sales you or others are getting , I know that depends on what your selling ie in a competitive market like clothes so it would be interesting to 2 know if certain categories need more volumes of items 🤔

    • @Married2Reselling
      @Married2Reselling  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think you said it right there. Number of listings isn’t really relevant, it’s the sell through rate of the items or type of item that you’re listing. If competition is high then pricing/promoted% etc becomes even more critical.

    Hi guys, I’ve been watching your content for a while and I really value your knowledge. I do have a question that I’ve been wanting to ask for a while and it would seem that this is a good opportunity to ask on this video. When you list with Promoted Listings, what is the average percentage you use. I’ve been selling for a while and was once told to list at 2.1%. I have used a higher percentage on some items in the past but strangely I’ve found I sell more items more frequently at the lower 2.1%. What is your take on this? Maybe there are others in the comments that have had similar better success with a minimum rate than a much higher rate, thanks

    • @Married2Reselling
      @Married2Reselling  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hmmm… tbh, promoted listings is something that I used to obsess about. I had campaigns for this, campaigns for that, different percentages based on age or price etc.
      Now, I don’t bother with any of that and promote everything at dynamic tending rate +1.5 (that bit I change here and there).
      Other than that, I don’t spend any time thinking about it really. Our costs prices are often really low so have have the margin to play with, otherwise I think we’d sit at around 5%

    The 90 day relisting works, it's an undeniable fact. For anyone watching this ignore this video which seems to be more about conspiracy theories and hating on other more successful resellers. Try it yourself. You'll see your old stock sells faster if you do it. eBay themselves tell you to do it. Are you going to believe eBay .... you know ... the platform who literally house your shop who know the algorithm like the back of their hand or a couple of disgruntled youtubers?

    • @Married2Reselling
      @Married2Reselling  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You didn’t understand the video I’m afraid. The video was not about conspiracy theories, eBays fee calculation was just only to show that there is a benefit to eBay for encouraging sellers to create new listings (after 90 days). The video encourages you to use your own data to decide for yourself if what you hear is true and if it’s in your best interest, or if there’s another way.
      What did you think we were disgruntled about?

    • @DarrenBladez-p5p
      @DarrenBladez-p5p 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Married2Reselling Firstly your assumption that I didn't understand the video rather than you simply being wrong already to me says you're not willing to listen to others. Relisting items after 90 days has no financial benefit to eBay if those listings fall into your listing allowance. eBay get nothing from that whatsoever. What they do get is money from selling fees. The more we sell ... the more they make. The more we sell, the more we are likely to list again and in turn make more money for them. It's very simply.
      You also ignored the part where relisting 90 day old items works. There is no debate on this. and when I see you reply to people who tell you flat out that it works with contempt or simply coming up with conspiracy theories that eBay themselves tell you it works ... which it does. Just for listing fees which are less than selling fees is shows everyone even more than you care more about that than actual factual information.

    • @Married2Reselling
      @Married2Reselling  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      “No financial benefit to eBay if those listings fall into your listing allowance” … so you agree there’s a financial benefit if they don’t fall into an allowance.
      Just because YOU don’t spend more than your subscription because you remain in your allowance, you seem to think that must apply to all eBay sellers.
      You also seem to be making the outrageous claim that relisting an item after 90 days guarantees a sale or something; that it ‘works’.
      Whereas we’ve shown what ‘works’ is that listings don’t simply die a death for views, and that they don’t need relisting on 90 days, and that letting something run for longer can still produce the sale.
      You seem to be making a number of wild claims here and they’re so shortsighted too!
      For one off or rare pieces, it’s as much about when the buyer comes along in their own life cycle, not the cycle of your listing.
      For in demand but competitive items it’s price that’s most often the deciding factor, not how old the listing is.
      I’m still waiting to find someone that can show me where it states anywhere in eBays written policies that 90 day relisting is a requirement. This never used to even be in question, but the more live events they do, the more there’s a need for a consistent message when asked these sort of questions and this is what they’ve seemed to have gone with (for now).
      But the biggest reason you’ve missed the whole point of the video is because the video was to show there are other ways, we demonstrated that there’s life after 90 days. If you don’t want to listen, that’s up to you, but to attempt to tell others to just ignore it is what’s wrong.
      We spend a great deal of time listening, we evaluate what we hear and if we want to, we respond. As content creators we understand the responsibility we have for the information we share, but more importantly how the information is shared. Telling others that they should relist/sell similar after 90 days simply because their item hasn’t sold doesn’t share the values of that responsibility. Instead, we showed data.
      If you don’t like the way that’s presented, we’re not bothered, it just means you’re one of the 2.6%, so closed off to the thought of expanding on an idea. But we are bothered when a comment states that the video should be ignored because someone doesn’t believe there’s another way. I’m getting strong DR or Techn member vibes from you.
