I’m gonna unsubscribe unless he posts another video this weekend 😼 You hear that Banzea? Unsubscribe. Come on, I need a fresh batch of bad analogies already. You call yourself a content creator? Sort it out m9!
@AlexBanzea I just wanted to say thanks for the content. I've focussed on the Jobava London for a couple of months and your videos have really helped me progress. I like the "3 actual games" format with the sort of moves that you actually encounter in real games. Too many courses focus on typical GM moves but I don't get to play a lot of titled players at my level! Keep them coming...
You are doing a great job - we love you too Alex! I appreciate you for your format and calmness while teaching and also the cute little stories / analogies that bring things to life. Plus your enthusiasm! I think you're onto a winner
I'd been put off the Jobava as it looks a little loose for me, but I'm now going to watch all your videos and jump in online at the same time. Looking forward to the course having done your excellent London course.
10:50 (ish) I just want to highlight something that is impressive. English is your second language So to hear you say and calculate math (yes even basic math) is still pretty cool and impressive. I know a little Mandarin and Spanish and if I did math out loud I’d auto default to my native language
Good to hear that the Jobava course will be more focused. I definitely felt overwhelmed with all the variations in your London course. While I do appreciate how indepth it is, it makes it harder for me to train and remember the key lines. I think having the pgn available for indepth study on the side is a great compromise. Basically train and learn the key lines and have a reference on the side when oddball lines pop up and we want to see what you recommend against them.
I enjoy your quirky patter - you have a wicked sense of humour. I have had the pleasure of working with many absolutely superb Romanian geoscience folks over the years several while I was on contract in Albania many years ago. I am a 69 year old wood pusher who still struggles to get into the 2000s - I keep remaining blind to so many dumb blunders when in winning positions. I try the puzzles on Lichess and generally get to a round 2200 before falling back again from silly mistakes. But in rapid games I struggle to get much above 1600 - I just think too slow - or too fast... I have enjoyed your Jobava London material - and I have quite a lot of fun (and wins) with what I have learned - I still struggle a bit to find the best responses when someone with black does something funny - I just have to get better at understanding that my moves really do depend on just what my opponent does - and moves have to make sense in every new combination. (I get there after embarrassing myself enough times!) I have a good mining friend ten years my senior and we have fun laying aided by some fine scotches. (I do not think that improves our games - but it is fun nonetheless!) Keep up the good work and keep that sunny attitude too.
Id vote for you, i tried actually. Dont have chessable account. But you have been the best chess coach ive had and raised my rating from 700 to 1200 in a month. I could have kept grinding but chess is a little too repeatative for me as a game of skill. A video on Fischer random would be awesome. Its a more tactics driven and less memorization from what ive heard.
Loved this video (again). These where a few lines where I was struggling with so I will try them out right now. Ooh and also I can’t wait till you’re Jobava course is ready! But I gladly will :). Thnx for these great videos!!
Great explanation of a very strong opening. *_Can I please ask what is your best intermediate (1400-1800) recommendation against d4 as black?_* Back to the jobava, I love it! Its not as easy to play as the london for an intermediate player like me because it is not a system and you have to react more accurately to your opponents moves, but you do an excellent job of breaking down the lines and making them logical so I can work it out for myself instead of having to memorise many moves and I am starting to see good results, especially in rapid 15|10 where I have more time to think. So we have the caro kaan against e4 as black but I would love to see your in depth analysis of your best recommended response to d4 (unless I am dumb and you have already done this). I find the Kings Indian very complex to play after the first 10-15 moves so I have been trying the dutch because many d4 players dont know the lines well but I don't see many GMs playing it so probably it's not very strong even if it brings some easy wins! Do you think the polish (b5) has good potential as black because again it might not be the strongest opening but many d4 players have no idea how to play against it? Thanks a lot Alex for your great channel. I always leave a like 😁👍
That's a good question. I don't like playing the King's Indian Defence or the Pirc either. They seem weak against the Austrian attack and the Four Pawns so I would like to know Alex's best overall D4 response too. I have tried the standard stuff like QGD and even QGA but as an E4 player with white I don't like to play 1. D5 as black either. I sometimes transpose to the French Defence but the opponent has to play 2. E4 for this to work. I agree that Alex explains things very well.
Just voted for the winner, AB! So happy to see you back, now I can start winning again. Waiting impatiently for your Jojoba course which will be the winning coursr for 2024. Just make sure not 2025, HA!
London jaba caro :) all what we like to see :) (besides u!) . Thanks for the content. Owning all courses. Just little bit pity that its not coming out on chessable. All my courses are there :(. Can you already hint the plattform where its coming out ?Keep it up.
Been watching your content for a while now, started chess about just under a year now and have hit 1400 rapid from your jobava london and caro kann videos, thank you ❤
Started playing chess last year and was stuck around 500 before discovering your jobava and caro kann videos and i just hit over 1200 for the first time the other day playing these openings almost exclusively. Cheers
Thank you so much Alex ❤ i play since 6 months now, and thanks to your Caro Kann, King's Indian and mainly cause of your amazing JOBAVA LONDON ❤ i am at 1700-1800 rated already. Looking forward to your jls course!!! Btw. i've a Jobava London Game on my Channel and i would love to hear what you think about it. Much love and honestly thank you for your effort!!! (Membership incoming 😊)
thank you alex for the update on your new course! love your content! could you please add the model games in the carokann course as you did in the london system course? or at least a link to the games! at the end of the variations you add the description of the model game but some i can't seem to find and they would be really helpful! thanks!
Game 2 is crucial. Everyone and their mom plays e6 and pins the c3 knight around 1000-1200 elo. All the cool looking games where you chase opponent's g4 bishop never actually happen, because white's light square bishop always winds up blocked in by pawn chain. And if by some miracle it's not blocked in, they often just put it on d7 or e6 lol
I'm learning London, caro, but I don't know what to play against 1.d4. I want something that will also work against the London I'm just below 1100. Any suggestions?
Alex Banzea is Gotham Chess on steroids! Now, Levy on steroids is probably not going to impress many girls on the beach. So... for the next video I come up with a better comparison! Great vid. will try these lines.
Best chess instructor in the world! His intellectual boxing skills are unsurpassed. He knows what every Russian school girl knows, those Romanian guys are smooth operators- lol.
Great video, Alex. Are you going to add this course to your Chessable courses in the future? I'd be interested if so. Do you reccomend GM Simon's Jobava course?
If youve pushed your knight to b5 early, and their bishop is on d6, my engine prywfers you take vishop with knight eather than leave the teo bishops facing eachother. I know that wasnt an option here because of c6.
Alex, work on course as much time as it takes, we need exactly the same quality with what you do your courses, not the number of endless Analyses that some authors stamped. We all appreciate what you do for all chess fans around the world, you are our best chess teacher and coach, thank you!)
please make a series on endgames, the way you flawlessly murder opponents in endgames in intermediate level is just blissful to watch i am great at openings, decent in midgames but always lose a winning position going into endgame
Alex, when I was a young kid (72 years ago) and my bother and sister were getting into mischief, I remember the phrase, “ut-oh, here comes mommy with the wooden spoon.” So when I saw you mention the wooden spoon on one of your videos, I got a big smile on my face - knowing the specter of the “wooden spoon” crossed generations and cultures.
Waitlist for my upcoming Jobava course: alexbanzea.com
Done in 3 categories!
Done!
CONGRATULATIONS! You certainly were the star this year in the Chessable awards!
Glad to see you back on TH-cam. Thanks Alex. I have both courses (Caro y London) but i need one for black vs 1.D4
Alex is the best chess youtuber by far, calm, funny and sophisticated
Drop the course!
He's back folks. I can finally stop bingeing the old Jobava speedrun
65 mins. No sub-titles. Definitely will return when I've time & quiet.
Same bro. I'm tired watching them over again.
So, how long was Alex M.I.A. ?@@onii-chan2811

“I like to call this pawn structure, the boa constrictor variation…I just came up with that name” 😭😂
Literally read this as he said it lol
So happy to vote for you and thanks for sharing all your knowledge and good humour. Cheers from Sydney🎹
I've played the Stonewall for a long time, so this first game is pretty familiar territory. What are your thoughts on the Stonewall?
🚩
Thanks for the course update at the end of the video ❤
Skipped to view that of course.. Good luck coming months..
I'd been put off the Jobava as it looks a little loose for me, but I'm now going to watch all your videos and jump in online at the same time.
Looking forward to the course having done your excellent London course.
Never stop with the Caro and Jobava vids Alex. Love your content dude !!
OK but what to do as black after 1.d4?
@@KenKurkowskiI like the Leningrad Dutch
d5 then c5 if he doesnt play 2.c4 @KenKurkowski
I switched to the Jobava London recently, gonna start watch all your other rating climbs
10:50 (ish)

I’m going to buy your jobava course as soon as it drops
Your channel is a gem, both this and the CK course are helping me blunder way less (I'm a complete noob) + I get entertained. Cheers!
i liked the king in the first game even though he had no moves for a while he was still completely safe and helping to add pressure to the position
good to see a new VIdeo Alex! Love the content!

Brilliant commentary ... Thanks 🎉🎉🎉
thanks for all your videos. I voted for you in 3 questions coz you deserve support. Thanks again.
Your karo course kept me from quitting chess as I used to play the (Freaking Pirc) Thank you! Any chance of new Vienna games...
Definitely planning to return the 1.e4 content too once I get a bit more time when the Jobava course is finished! Thanks Adam.
thank you alex :)
Simplify is best ❤️ in chess !!
Where have you been, missed all the content
I missed you jobava king
Jobava speed run at blitz 3min would be amazing and new content
Can we get a queens gambit and/or Catalan vid??

At 17:50.would rook to g3,then rook to g1 work..after g3,what could the white b1 rook be able to do to stop the h2 pawn from queening.
100 point increase so far with this opening.
Curious what your blunder was in the last game.
Banzeeeeeeus🎉
"wE hAvE aN eXtRa PaWn, sO iTs An EaSy WiN"
17:23 could't you just take the pawn with the king allowing promotion Rb8# ?
when is the Jobava course coming?

Maaaan why you're softing your voice too many times 😂😅
Why do you look like a homeless person in the thumbnail lol ? Love your content anyways
Thank god you are back, your videos are the best chess content! I went from 512 to 1181 in under 2 months thanks to your great teachings.
Testimonial! (I've no rating, but I understand a whole lot more).
“Jerking off on g7” is something I’d never thought I’d hear, ESPECIALLY not from Alex 😂😂
I love it

I thought I played a flawless Jobava against a Kings Indian. Then game review rated me only 75 accuracy 😢. Time to study.
Yes, you are back!😂 I'm happy to see higher rated games.
Great video, Alex. Are you going to add this course to your Chessable courses in the future? I'd be interested if so. Do you reccomend GM Simon's Jobava course?
Oh no ! London again? What about the Vienna and Caro-Kann ? Or perhaps Scotch game after your Scotch gambit… just saying ;)

Alex, there are some sick lines in Canty's Jobava course. Would love to see what you "makes the cut" in your course.
Hi Alex, one more question: is the Caro-Kann middle game course still on your mind?
What has stopped you from going for more norms to get GM title? You appear quite young and it probably possible.
please make a series on endgames, the way you flawlessly murder opponents in endgames in intermediate level is just blissful to watch
i am great at openings, decent in midgames but always lose a winning position going into endgame
Thanks omu', bravo pentru tot ceea ce faci! Pe mine m'a ajutat si pe fiu'miu de sase ani ;)
Very instructive video about Jobava london..Thanks for making it so easy to understand!
Badrack Jobama
Why are you doing funny voices.. makes it unwatchable..pity
Alex, your videos are great! I'm going from caveman chess to better than that!
32:40 why not go to b5 with bishop?
Also, thanks for quoting Big Shaq
The Queen sac that he spoke about doesn't work if black captures with the other rook, rather than the King.
Soo the course is coming out in about 2 months time you say, is that a joke (1st of April) lol lol
keep going with jobava brother, always refreshing my feed to look for your new videos
this jobava is the truth ..haven't perfected it yet but already seeing major results
These are great, would you do a mix of white and black openings in one video?
Could you do something about those high pitched voice explanations …
Early a6 for black seems to really shut this down at higher levels no?
If IM Alex will transfer to NZ he will play Board 1 for sure 😊
Alex, when I was a young kid (72 years ago) and my bother and sister were getting into mischief, I remember the phrase, “ut-oh, here comes mommy with the wooden spoon.” So when I saw you mention the wooden spoon on one of your videos, I got a big smile on my face - knowing the specter of the “wooden spoon” crossed generations and cultures.
You should make a video on how to counter the "alien gambit"
No more love for OG London? 😢
will have more, just not a lot of time on my hands...difficult to multitask and I don't want to post just for the sake of posting.
I've never gone back to normal London anymore. Just can't.
Will you still add the jobava update to the London course?
