“You can’t eat chicken like this, you’ll die” 😂😂 This tofu looks and sounds amazing! Might have to add it as a stop during our trip out west! Our favourite tofu recipes are your coconut lime tofu, crispy tofu bowls, and shishkabobs with tofu and veggies on the bbq!
Hahaha he always manages to throw out some zingers lol 😂 and ya it’s a super cute day trip when you’re on the island (we’ll have to get you some of the smoked tofu to try for sure!). I’m glad you like the coconut lime tofu! I’ve actually never made tofu shish kebabs because we don’t have a BBQ but I’ll have to try that when we go away to a cottage this summer 👍🏼
My favourite 3 tofu recipes are: RPLs tofu scramble (I have to try yours next time), TBD's "Marry Me Tofu" and ... dang, I cannot decide? I will just say Tofu Tikka Masala and call it a day. Could be whatever else :)
Oh cool RPL uses tahini in her tofu scramble and much more milk so it’s definitely a wetter scramble but I’ll have to try that! A few people have mentioned Marry Me Tofu lately and I’ve never had that (or marry me chicken) so that’s on my list to try!
Really enjoyed it, as a Level 11 vegan who eats her tofu straight from the package, ha! I am so envious of your ability to get freshly made tofu from the maker, and my mouth was watering in the test test portion. I especially envy your having smoked tofu, because that completely vanished from the metro Detroit grocery market many years ago, for mysterious reasons. P.S. Love your blouse in the kitchen segments. Thanks for posting 🙂
Hahaha thank you! And as a level 11 vegan you would definitely LOVE this tofu 😝😂 I’m glad you liked the video and I hope you can get your hands on some smoked tofu again soon! It was much harder for me to find when we lived in Toronto but it seems to be in every grocery store in BC which has been a plus.
Top three? Tofu cheese steak, stroganoff and orange "chicken". I need to come back and watch this entire thing!!! I made my own tofu once. Definitely didn't do it properly 😕
Those all sound amazing. I’ve never tried an orange “chicken” with tofu. I’ve been curious about making my own (mostly just to cut down on the plastic that it is always packaged in) but I’ve never tried it.
Our favourite tofu recipes are your French toast and vegan cream cheese. I’ve had a recipe for roasted red pepper soup using tofu that I make often . I’m looking forward to experimenting using tofu in our meals. This video was great and look forward to trying this product!!
I love your roasted red pepper soup! I don’t blend tofu into soups enough. Such a great way to add a creamy texture and extra protein 👍🏼 thank you so much Judy. We’re excited to get you some of this when you come out here next!
Well we are way behind in the UK. Only just started been able to find tofu in main supermarkets and we only have 2 brands. There is only one brand that makes organic silken tofu and cannt get it in the supermarkets. I can see how sprouted will be good for allergens as does sprouted bread for gluten sensitivities. I can see how it will taste better before packaging as does home made soy milk. I tend to airfry and add to my salads and silken is fantastic in a ninja creamy ice-creams. The texture and flavour is amazing. ❤
Oh interesting that it’s not as easy to find for you 🤔 when we were in Portugal a couple of summers ago we couldn’t find refrigerated tofu but we did find it shelf stable actually! I assume you have looked there too but I should have pointed out that it might be on the regular grocery shelves in some countries and not refrigerated. Amazing that you can add it to the ninja creamy! I just learned about that machine and it looks amazing! I wondered how it would work with vegan ice cream 👍🏼 I hope you can find more options of tofu soon!
Oh nice! I’ve been meaning to try chocolate pudding with tofu. I make one with avocado but silken tofu is probably nice and light. Thanks for the reminder!
Oh wow, I guess you must live much closer to me than I assumed when I found your channel. I used to work with the Nova that Soya Nova is named after (in Victoria, BC).
I frequently get the 12 pack of extra firm sunrise firm tofu from Wholesale Club (Canada). Im almost aleaysbjust cubing it to put on rice but your vegan cream cheese recipe is my fav so far.
@@ryanf6157 oh I’m so glad you like the vegan cream cheese! Thank you for letting me know. You’ll have to try freezing a block of your tofu maybe and seeing if you like the change in texture for your rice dishes!
I would obviously eat soy.. it's so good and my aunt's family has been eating soy for ages (they're japanese) and they're really healthy.. (they're vegetarian btw.. buddhist..)
Kathryn thanks for this awesome video about tofu. It was very educational, informative and interesting. Love 😍 Tofu. I have made a vegan quiche with tofu and also enjoyed a broccoli & tofu stir fry and peanut butter tofu. Have a lovely Sunday and week ahead. Love 🥰 the video and love 💓 Kathryn & ❤️ Bryan.
Peanut butter tofu sounds great! Do you have a recipe? Also, I only ask because I used to live in Scotland and not because I am trying to play on a stereotype, but do you have a vegan haggis recipe?
I will be in Vancouver, BC at the end of August. Is there a store locator for this brand? I most definitely want to try it, especially the smoked and seasoned varieties.
Oh great I’m glad you’re excited to try it! I know the sellers on vancouver island but I’ll ask Nova if they have brick and mortar sellers in Vancouver and get back to you soon! On Vancouver Island “country grocers” and “naked naturals” carry them but I think those are only chains on the island.
I heard back from Nova about their sellers in Vancouver. They don't have a store locator you can search on but I will list them below and hopefully you can visit one! •BE FRESH - 1900 WEST 1ST AVE •BE FRESH - 3603 MAIN STREET •ETERNAL ABUNDANCE ORGANIC MARKET - 1025 COMMERCIAL DRIVE •FAMOUS FOODS - 1595 KINGSWAY •GAIA GROCERY - 150 FOURTH STREET •GLOBAL GROCERS - 5638 HWY 97 •ISABEL CREEK STORE - 5589 TRAPP AVE •MEINHARDT FINE FOODS #4539 - 3002 GRANVILLE STREET. •THE VEGANIST - 9248 MAIN STREET •VEGAN SUPPLY - 250 EAST PENDER STREET
I REALLY want to buy that sprouted tofu, now. :-D Do they ship internationally, I wonder? Also, would never have guessed you were filming in your kitchen at 9 at night -- I hope you get to film a little earlier in the day, for the next few! :-o But this was absolutely lovely, and I loved hearing that take on tofu -- "tofu has no opinions; it's versatile". That's a remarkable and apt truth. What've you and Bryan got planned next, Kathryn? :-)
Spud (the online market) ships across BC and Alberta but unfortunately not any further! We’re so glad you liked this one and we think we’ll get a short out next weekend because things have been so busy we haven’t had much time to film another full length video. But the quick pickled red onion and portobello mushroom burger are on our radar. I’m working on a few brand new recipes too so hopefully those will pop up here soon!
Leave your top 3 tofu recipes below! Tell everyone what you're making with tofu!

Hello! Welcome 🤗
ok this is just a brag video about having access to that amazing tofu brand... totally jealous
Haha 😆 🤦🏻♀️ I’m sorry! I’m glad it looks as delicious as it tastes though!
I haven't been able to get any tofu at Costco or Sam's since covid. Doesn't make me happy.
Oh boo. I’ve never been to a Sam’s. It’s helpful to get it at a warehouse store so I hope they bring it back to your area!
