I just got a 2015 Rapide S. Thank you for your review! The 2015 is the one to get, IMO. It has all the modern drive train components (including the 8-speed ZF), while retaining a classic look, inside and out. The infotainment is modernized in 2016/2017 versions but they lose the clock and a more classic look, which I happen to like a lot!
Im really looking forward to the future of Aston Martin (if there is any without going nearly bankrupt again). They know how to design, they know how to do a interior (leather) and Sound was always top notch! If they get their Tech Game up and go ZF or Double Clutch .. the future is bright! Top Video wiedermal!

You're right. Astons look mind-blowing in dark green. For me the love affair with that colour started when I played Gran Turismo as a kid and bought a V8 Virage (1988-1996) in dark green. The DBS works too though ; )
Don't get me started :-) Manual V8 Vantage X-Pack in Balmoral Green! The list goes on and on... Aston Martin's past is unquestionably more interesting than their present. Definitely going into the right direction again though, even if that implies bringing out cheaper models and SUVs!
Great review. I bought one of these a year ago (lucky boy I know!). I agree with pretty much all your comments, though I do have the new 8 speed gear box which is a major upgrade on the 6 speed I believe? It is usable as a family. I have two U 12 children and we can all fit in as a family for a weekend away. Every time I get in it you feel special and yes like James Bond, all be it the grown up version with children and a wife! I agree with the electronic shortcomings but you can live with them. The B&O stereo is amazing though, pretty much real Hi-Fi in a car. Though all the Hi-Fi you really need in this car is the exhaust sound - it's intoxicatingly. If you in the market for one of these I'd say do it, because I believe Mr Bond is the only person who lives twice!
+Ian Walker I am a huge fan of the rapide! The looks really are fantastic... the interior is not the most modern but it's still very beautiful in its own right! Enjoy in good health mate!!

Although I can't relate to everything, great video. You also have the flair to characterise the feeling of driving an Aston Martin. I do drive a 2014 Rapide S for daily use and a Rapide AMR over the summer. I'm probably one of very few who has chosen to drive 2 Rapides ;-) Obviously there is a difference between the 6 and 8 speed transmissions, but I get the impression you didn't use all the features available on this vehicle. The driving characteristics in Sport Mode or Track Mode are definitely not as sluggish as described here.
That romantic vibe at the start made me want to mate with the car

Hot damn guys, you actually managed to get your hands on hen's teeth. I never thought I'll see one in person but I did ! not long ago ...in Zurich. I recently moved here and already crossed a few bucket list cars off. It's insane! What a super and totally pointless car the Rapide is. Like you said, for people of discerning taste. Here's to your channel growing big and keep the great vids coming ! Especially interested in the GTV project.
The 'new' Aston Martin Racing Rapid S adds the sporty touch to thus one. Changed V12 with 600HP now, improved all over, added tons of carbon fibre, in the famous green with a yellow stripe. Love it now as it gets a less 'oldie' look. The element which still is a turn off for me is the infotainment/screen, that lacks enormously!

As for the car...i think the lack of rear leg room and space make it a bit of an anti-climax! Sure its beautiful and the noise isnt too bad either but shame that its purpose of being a limousine is lost to design demands...
I see your point. I guess you have to compare it to the CLS, A7, Panamera etc. which don't have THAT much space either. As mentioned in the video, I guess the Rapide S doesn't really have a clear purpose, but super super cool nonetheless! Thanks for watching!
+Gasoline Culture - I'd respectfully disagree with some of the cars you've compared with regards to interior space. The Panamera has way more legroom and headroom than a Rapide. I'd argue that the A7 and CLS are far superior in this respect as well.
However, the Rapide isn't that bad with regards to legroom and headroom if you're average height. I'm 5ft 9 (1m 75) and I spent 2.5 hours in the back of one of these about 5 years ago and whilst it wasn't the most commodious, there are much worse places to be spend your time. I was sitting behind a driver who was 5 ft 11 (1m 80).
The problem is if you're sitting behind an unusually tall driver (6ft 3+) who has the front seat all the way back. Then it's going to get very cramped if you're above average height. Even if the front seat isn't far back, the rear in the Rapide is probably not a great place to spend your time if you're significantly above 6ft (1m 83). Nonetheless, not nearly as cramped as some commentators have suggested.

If they change that orribile steering wheel , refresh the interior design and as you said change the gearbox , in black color it will be the most delicious 4 door out there

I doesn't appear that you knew about selecting Sport mode and, Sport Adaptive dampers. Makes a huge difference especially when using the paddles. Gearbox response a lot snappier, throttle map much sharper, and car tied down much firmer. In standard mode the car is set up for chilled cruising which is why you called the gearbox a joke. It's not, it's fit for purpose and can have sport mode selected,which transforms the drive into much more sport feel.
Oh Switzerland! Where you see Aston Martin Rapide S's with L stuck on the back for learners haha. But where is the reviewer from? I hear no hint of swiss, german, english (UK) at all.
