I’m 11 and in 6th grade,I hate the way I look in hijab and I’m the only real hijaby in my class I also go to a private Islamic school and so many kids have lost there way at such a young age and I’m hoping my insecurities of wearing hijab don’t get the best of me,I have considered taking it off but ,it’s it’s always been something I’ve never took seriously and when I think about it i wouldn’t take it off if I was being held at gunpoint and getting to know that this amazing singer has gone through something similar puts my heart at ease in a way-

Some of them already know how to love your before you love yourself. They are there. Find them. I get your point... but it sounds like you cant be celebrated or famous until you think you yourself are wonderful. Or perhaps somewhere in between what you think I think.. ACTUALLY, I think you may have it quite OPPOSITE of what you have said, Nemahsis: You won't learn to love yourself until they have shown that they love you.
Love you means love you unconditionally. If you want to be a star, and I cant tell whether or not you do, then maybe you will not reach stardom until you believe you are a star and your promote yourself, and show to everyone.. If that is the attitude of Nemahsis.
Well... I speak as if the world is full of benevolent people, guided by God to see your talents and nurture you. And maybe in a lot of cases no one will nurture you because they are too modest.... modest to a fault..to a pathetic weakness. But this sounds like a FIGHT !! Between pure beauty and talent, vs closed minds. Nemahsis... you have already crossed over the line (of no return to obscurity). I will do whatever I can to promote your "act". Your singing career. Becuase I was trained in the ways of the music industry and I watch the bullshit of television, but on the internet people are honest (yes in terrible way, but yes in expressive ways that will support you.)

i don't think nemahsis is underrated she's just beginning with a beautiful story of love and tyranny worrying about giving up her culture for lover but still trying be herself and culture
I may be a bit late; Nemahsis actually explained the meanings behind her songs. Also that she was direct in her lyrics.
The songs do not dicuss her head scarf or religiosity in that manner. Rather it is the pressure from society and how negatively they view the head scarf or being religious(specifically Muslim). It is a commitment to wear one especially when one's job acceptance rate and all social interactions are affected by it. It is not about "a lover". I can explain more since I have the same background in all aspects. Feel free to ask anything.
