You're not really "right wing." You're just more like a classical liberal, which has always been to the left of monarchy on the political scale. But a social vs. economic "left vs. right" liberal paradigm has created a political scale that's a bit askew. Compare yourself to true right wingers you're probably against, and ask yourself: Are you really THAT conservative?
Why? It's a song. If you like the other music of a performer like Todd, it goes without saying that he's controversial. Disliking a performer for one song says you only liked him for what YOU wanted to hear him say. You didn't appreciate him for who he is as a performer. That's pretty shallow.
Don't be a fool. I love the grunge music scene immensely, but it doesn't remotely keep me from appreciating Todd Snider. Everyone needs to keep a sense of humor, its the only thing keeping us all sane.
